If I lived in Evanston, I’d be here every week. The charm of the restored firehouse is clear both outside and inside, and the happy sounds of people eating, drinking, and having fun greeted us as soon as we entered. The 14 beers on tap had a wide variety, including my faves — stouts, hazy IPA, and Belgian white. I got Son of Juice, the Maplewood hazy. Yum. There’s also wine and a full bar. My friend ordered a cheeseburger and I got the Barbecue Chicken Pizza; both were great! The pizza is deep dish but rectangular in shape, served on a 10x14 baking sheet (Detroit Style). I had lots left to take with me, and I ate it on the road the next day. We splurged on a Cookie Skillet for dessert — wow. So good. The outside patio, strung with white lights, looks like a really funplace to eat and drink when it’s warm. All in all, we loved Firehouse!

Outstanding burgers, some of the best sweet potato fries I've had. Really nice patio with cute lights and heat lamps that kept us warm in cloudy 40° weather. Excellent hot drinks, service was really good and fast.

Great atmosphere. Awesome outdoor patio -- even when it's cold (nice heaters). Staff is super friendly and attentive, especially CiCi. Adorable! Firehouse also has a really nice party room. Booked for several events in the past and everyone had a great time. Menu has something for everyone and the food is delish. Definitely my go to when I don't feel like cooking OR I just want to sit at the bar and have a cold beer (great selection) or a glass of wine (good options). Bar staff is knowledgeable, friendly, and attentive.

Awesome food, really like the Chief Burger. Great bar with great service. Guinness on tap. Seating for family meals is also great. Always find friendly faces inside, can't say enough about the service. The staff is so nice. Great part of the community.

This place has gone down the fire pole. Just had the most mediocre lunch there. The pizza used to be really good. The past two times we’ve gone, each was a step down. They used to use pulled chicken now it’s these dry overcooked little tiny chunks. The veggie pizza used to be loaded with veggies and had artichokes and more sauce and man it was good. Now it’s just same old stuff like an old tired Pizza Hut supreme pizza. Maybe the clientele likes that I have no idea. But it’s no longer worth the calories. On top of the toppings issue the music was just all kinds of loud generic jock rock like what you’d see on a “90s party rock CD they sell at a gas station off the turnpike. Both my wife and I were anxious to leave bummed because we lived off this pizza during the pandemic.

The food here was very good. We stopped for dinner on a weekday evening. The place was kinda busy, but not overly so. Our server was very pleasant, though not completely attentive. Getting our selections from the kitchen seemed to take forever. I had the meatloaf sandwich and my wife had fish tacos. We would return, but would hope for more efficient service timing. I might bring a book,........or a jigsaw puzzle.

Excellent restaurant, super friendly and attentive staff. Very clean interior and nice decorations. Dinner was very delicious. The flavors and portions are worth the price.

My friend and I stopped in for a quick bite on a rainy Saturday. The service was really friendly. There is a nice patio but of course we couldn't use it because it was raining - inside has nice booth seating. I had the veggie quesadillas which were an appetizer but they were great for a lunch. They were really good. Crisp tortillas loaded with grilled veggies and cheese. My companion had the nachos which, unfortunately fell short of the mark. Basically they were chips with cheese. It's like to go back and sample some of the other offerings before I judge them soley on those nachos.

I wish I could give this place ZERO stars. I ordered the Irish Pub burger through DoorDash, I asked to have my burger prepared well done. When the burger was delivered I was beyond really hungry. The burger was not well done, in fact it was the total opposite. It seems like they only browned both sides of the burger. The inside was rare. I called and spoke to the manager Zeff. I informed him that my food was poorly prepared and that I would be bringing that burger back to the restaurant for another one that would be prepared as I requested on the app. He assured me that it would be. I picked up the burger went home and opened the container. The burger was burnt/scorched. Even the bacon was burnt. Were they trying to teach me a lesson about not complaining about the Ill prepared food that I paid for?? Never again will I order from this place. It was a total waste of money. I would not recommend this place to anyone.

The burgers were hearty and delicious. Servers were friendly but I had an issue when we ordered the lava cake. This is a thorn in my side is. the menu advertises a chocolate “lava cake” and this is definitely not a lava cake. It doesn’t have any ooey gooey inside. When the server came to ask how the lava cake was, we were honest and said it wasn’t that good. She made a face and said she agreed. A warning would have been nice.

Came for lunch with my partner. The wait was non existent and we got a nice booth. Our server, Cece, was amazing. We had drinks quickly and she was very patient while we were trying to figure out what we wanted. The food was amazing. We got the Cubano sandwich and tried the chopped salad with Cece's recommendation. Everything was delicious. The veggies are all high quality and the give great portion sizes especially considering the price point. You should definitely stop by if you're in the neighborhood.

The service was great. Food was poor. Ordered burger (no temp asked) and it was very very rare. Sent it back asking for med well, and the center was still very pink and raw looking. Again, service was good. The food was inconsistent. Some fries seasoned, some not.

The Firehouse grill has an air of casual sophistication. The patrons varied from families to couple on dates. The food was really good we had jambalaya and vegie quesadilla with fries. The drink was tastey but a little small for 12. We had a regular coffee with one refill for 8. I thought 4 bucks for a refill out of line. The service was ok. Ill be back.

This was the hubby and I lunch date spot today! I love the ambiance. The food is very flavorful. My only complaint is that the espresso martini was not an espresso martini. The flavors were not balanced and had 3 espresso beans in it. For my husband boozy shake it was GREAT! We will return

Food is consistently great. Even better than the food though, is the service. We love getting a table with Cece. She will make your visit spectacular!

I have always enjoyed the food and the atmosphere of the Firehouse Grill. The wait service is prompt and courteous. There is one waitress in particular that always goes above and beyond to see to it that your dinning experience is a real pleasure. Her name ia Cecilia Ruiz and she knows her job well and she’ll see to it that your dinning needs are a very positive experience, that plus her smile and the good food will have you coming back many time.! nan pfeiffer

Firehouse Grill is one of my favorite local Evanston restaurants! The food and drinks are consistently delicious! I have used this location as a meeting spot for client and social meetings regularly in the recent past, and have come to deeply appreciate one of the staff in particular, the Host Cece! Cece always greets us with a warm welcome and fantastic service! Not only is she Hosting and greeting, but manages to have impeccable timing for meeting all of our food and drink needs during our dining experience! I always feel cared for and welcomed as a result of Cece's attention and care for us! Seek her out when you are there and show her some love! She will surely bring some sunshine and light to your day also!

If you're looking for a cozy and delicious place to eat in Evanston, Illinois, you should check out Firehouse grill. It's a family-owned restaurant that serves American classics with a twist. The food is always fresh and flavorful, and the portions are generous. You can choose from burgers, sandwiches, salads, soups, and more. My personal favorite is the pulled pork sandwich with coleslaw and fries. It's tender, juicy, and smoky, just like a barbecue should be. The location is also great, right next to the fire station on Chicago Avenue. You can watch the fire trucks go by while you enjoy your meal. The service is friendly and attentive, and the atmosphere is warm and inviting. Firehouse grill is a great spot for lunch or dinner, whether you're with family, friends, or a date. I highly recommend it!

I don't know why I keep letting people drag me to this place. Every time I get disappointed in some way. This time the kitchen forgot to make my food, so I stayed hungry while everyone else was eating (I ordered fish'n'chips, and a salad. Both dishes did not show up so it more than a small mistake). Last time, 50% of the menu was missing and we spent most of our time waiting, while the place wasn't even full. I usually understand but it's been multiple occasions, different scenarios, always bad experiences. I will not step my foot there again.

Initially ordered burger with what I thought fries come automatically. So I also ordered Mac n cheese. Turns out you don’t automatically get fries. So I wound up with two items costing $25. A bit pricey. Everywhere fries automatically come with the sandwich. Not here

Love the food and the ambiance in this old converted firehall. Very relaxed and good food and drinks. Good service too. The “Susan’s Michigan Salad” is phenomenal. Burgers were very good too.

I cannot speak highly enough of our experience at Firehouse Grill. We had an event on the patio and everything from our conversations with the event planner, to the morning of, to the event itself was perfect. They went above and beyond to accommodate us. The food was delicious and all of our guests enjoyed it and couldn't say enough good things about the buffet brunch. The staff were attentive, professional and so helpful. Thank you Firehouse Grill!! We will certainly be back for future events.

I've tried almost their whole menu now. The food here is amazing. I love it all. My shout out is for their pizza. Fresh dough probably made that day is light and fluffy. But the sauce is what's really the star. At first it doesnt taste any different but not more than 1 second later the flavors just explode on your tongue. TRY!!!! You wont be disappointed.
