I would give them zero stars if I could. Management recently "rented" out a number of the indoor swim lanes to a local university swim team from 530-730 am every day of the week. The effect is 20+ swimmers in the pool area which does not feel safe to me in light of COVID (they also get out of the pool and walk around the deck to the swim start podiums). No notice was given that I am aware of and the timing is when most working professionals need access to the pool. I only use the membership for swimming. Be aware of this if you are interested in using the indoor pool for swimming in the morning.

I witnessed a Kid’s Academy team member talking on the phone extensively while being the only person to care for three infants. This team member was not reported or fired. After 2 years at Lifetime I’ve learned their lack of respect for their employees & the children they care for in the Kid’s Academy is astounding. While Northbrook is putting in a new hack squat & 4 squat racks, they’re also cutting the pay of long term employees & getting rid of instructors for kid’s classes. There are now unqualified & untrained team members trying to teach your kids, and I promise Lifetime does not care about your child’s experience more than they do money in their pockets.

The gym is not big enough to charge what it does and most of the time the limited number of equipment is taken up by the trainers for their clients….been a member since summer and I’ve seen this situation get worse consistently. Feel like a second rate customer if I don’t go with a trainer and I already pay premium pricing compared to other gyms. I also am not a fan of some of the trainer’s attitudes. I won’t name drop but some walk around like they own the place. Please train them appropriately to be more courteous to customers that don’t use trainers. Also have them reevaluate their training programs to be more courteous to all members and their tight schedules. A good start would be to not take up equipment of the same kind all at once for a class during busy hours which is 5-6pm on weekdays usually.

an extremely modern and clean facility with a good crowd. I say facility because this is not really a gym, if you are a real man who lifts weights this is not the place for you because 80% of the floor space is spent on cringe activities, spas, gift shops and cafeterias. a total waste

My name is Olga. My English probably not good enough but I will try to tell you what I really don’t like and what I I like about lifetime. 1. Yoga classes ... terrible experience ever! Yoga instructors never shows what to do they just talk what to do... but hey excuse me if I’m new in yoga how can I know what to do and what is right... when I talked with them about it they said look to another people what they do.. hey than why I need yoga instructor in class if I can look to another people. 2) when I came there I said I just visit this area and we leave in one month and Sara manager ok no problem let me know what you want to do in one week. Yes I forgot about it this ... so this morning I just saw money withdrawal from my card and when I asked them why they said it’s for membership and when I talked to Sara and she says yes you didn’t come to me and didn’t tell me and she is remember what I said to her one month ago that I will talk to my husband and let her know.. yes she remember what I said to her month ago but she even not remind me or just asked me what I want to do... you b know just be nice... all they care it’s just about money 💰 what I really like it’s summer camp for kids.. and people who works there so nice my daughter really loves it.. thank you 🙏 guys

Firstly, a big thank you to Larissa. She works at the front desk and she is amazing. I am a new member and she went above and beyond to help resolve an issue I encountered. That woman deserves a raise for her skills and great attitude. The club itself was very clean. Even on a Friday it wasn't too packed. My guest and I enjoyed the outdoor pool and other amenities. Equipment was up to date and clean. Very happy with my experience and the service.

This honestly should be a 3 star based off of amenities because there is no basketball court and the weight room is tiny. I don't understand how this gym can be so big but have nothing in it. However, the gym is extremely clean and Will at the front desk is simply amazing. His energy & enthusiasm brings great energy right when you walk in. He nearly brings this place to 5 stars!

The employees harass you if you look good. Their customer service does not care about the clients. The staff harasses you if you actually use your membership and workout regularly. Showers have clumps of hair, used band aids and workout floor is the same level of cleanliness. It's a Red Roof Inn with a Ritz Carlton sticker. Not worth it for full length lockers.

Low quality service. It was way overpriced and the master was rude because she started to work on my highlights and her next client showed up. She accepted next client within 20 minutes and I was sitting and my hair was burned. I would not recommend this place.

The kids staff are great, swimming instructors are wonderful. I have a few issues: the place was obviously designed for people without children (in a town with 5,000 children, go figure). 1. No family swim except during the summer, now that you know that you have more children than planned, why wouldn't you change that? 2. The outside pool has no bathrooms nearby, so parents need to walk through the indoor pool all the way over to the women's locker room. 3. Family locker room has one bathroom stall. REALLY. 4. Pictures on their own website aren't actually of Northbrook. Why show a water slide if it's at another location?

If I could give you a zero star I would don’t pay cash for any training and if you do make sure you get a receipt The general manager good luck with him trying to handle anything I think there’s better gyms out there Like FFC it’s a shame that me and my wife had to leave the gym at least her trainer was honest my trainer was stealing from me. I really can’t believe the way they handle this after me and my wife used to train at least three times a week there we did the kids Camp all the money I spend in the club. And please do not waste your time calling customer service or corporate because they do not care about their Members.

I’m genuinely impressed with quality of this fitness club, lockers and amenities are superb, all equipment very clean and very new, smith machines and treadmills are fantastic, I know it’s little pricey however it’s worth for the wide range of services they offer, oh Pilate classes are superb,

Clean gym overall. Poorly planned out. Water fountains are few and aren’t easily visible. Free Weight space is small with limited machines. Training area is on the third floor while the daycare area is on the second usually not the case at most LTs. This LT shouldn’t be in this price tier considering small square footage, no cold plunge, no turf area, no boxing/mma area. It’s just feeding off of the demographic and that it’s “newer”.

Been a member for a week and joined with my wife and my 12 year old. I'll stay with the single fault I have and then the praise. Kids club great for little kids but 8 up is a no go. My 10 year old took one look and was like "no friggin way." Now to the good.... -Cleanest club I have ever been in and I've been to my fair share of them. From the workout floor to the locker rooms it is spotless. Equipment put away, no bad smells, steam room nicer than the 4 Seasons, etc -I've been with 3 trainers already. All 3 have been great. Motivating, professional, and the session my son who is 12 had with Mike was possibly life changing for him. -My wife got a massage and said the therapist, I think the name is Roman, was unbelievable. She knows what she talking about. -Brand new equipment that is top of the line. Also, there is a lot of it. You won't be waiting on others to finish. It's not cheap but it's not LA Fitness. If you use it it's worth it. It's a Health Club not just a gym. Everyone working there I've met is pleasant. I've done Midtown which is great if you play tennis but this place is nicer in every other way. The outdoor pool is just as nice as Midtown's as well.

Nicest place to workout in Northbrook. Forget the Y, the equipment there is old and the staff is so rude. Lifetime has clean and up to date machines, free weights, bikes, treadmills, smith machines, you name it - they have it. The staff is so welcoming and there to help. Not to mention the locker rooms and amenities are superb.

I got a massage from Paz. It was wonderful, professional, relaxing and ‪calming. I’m definitely coming back to her and referring other people to her.

At the most popular hour each day they use all of the Alpha platforms for classes making them unable to be used by other paying customers. Extremely inconvenient and has caused myself and others to have to drive to further locations just to get a workout in. The location is very clean but there are a few trainers that are very unfriendly.

Paz Horowitz is the most amazing massage therapist I have ever been to. She is professional and very talented. I highly recommended visiting her at Lifetime Northbrook!

The pictures shown are NOT of the Northbrook location, as it does not offer a basketball court or some of the other amenities features and is more dated. Overall, I like this gym, but the often unfriendly front desk people, the dust bunnies under the equipment, the extremely slow cafe, and the poor behavior of women on their phones while in the hot tub or sauna (They take selfies and turn their music/ videos up so loud you can’t use the time to replace), makes it less desirable. I signed up for the $250/ month club to work out and take use of the amenities, but that usually comes with less than relaxing surroundings. I’d love to see management enforce some of these rules to make the club feel less trashy and more worth the $$

My massage with Paz was amazing! So professional, understood body mechanics and how to relieve pain and promote relaxation. I left feeling so much better! Totally knows her stuff! I will definitely go back to see her. Highly recommend

Lifetime had a “poolpalooza” today. Wow, what a great event! There was a DJ, a hula hoop instructor, popcorn and snow cones…and, wait for it… a mermaid!! My daughter (3 y/o) called her Ariel but her official name was ShellSea (her real name is Chelsea). I haven’t had such a great time on the dozen cruises or yearly resort visits I’ve done. Well done!! Well, done indeed!

Wonderful facility. Amazing staff. The only con is the men’s locker room. The behavior there is very suspect and the men are wayyyyy too comfortable. It bothers me that I have to see those things when I just want to work out.

This gym is very clean and has great class instructors. After trying a variety of classes all were very knowledgeable. However for the significant cost per month there are a few things lacking. Class times during the week are very limited during afternoon/early after work hours (i.e. before 5:45 pm). Many of the popular classes are uncomfortably full, even with assigned spots. And considering the large size of the gym, the free weight area of the weight room is pretty small with limited floor space for weights. The weight machines they have are nice, however lacking some popular machines found at less pricy gyms in the area. Overall, seems like a nice, clean club with good weekend workout classes disguised as an expensive gym.

Absolutely beautiful facility. So well kept, the entire team is there to make your experience a great one. They work so hard to ensure your experience and time at the gym is great. I'm so happy I joined and will definitely continue my membership.

What a lack of customer service by Doreen at the daycare, she has a need to lecture a parent who is trying to ease their Child into the gym daycare. She repeatedly made us feel so uncomfortable that we couldn’t stay and canceled our membership.

Well kept gym (especially the locker room) with a nice outdoor pool area with cabanas. The service is usually always great (depending on who you're dealing with in the cafe). The gym could be a little bigger as well as there isn't a baseball court at this location but there's a lot of other amenities they excell in - check out the med spa upstairs 😉

Really nice place, I love it here such nice staff and very clean and friendly. My only complaint is the food. The food here is horrible. One day me and my friend got mac and cheese and we expected homemade Mac and cheese and we got Kraft box Mac and cheese and it wasn’t even good. The pool food is a bit better but is still not the best, please maybe work on getting more options and getting better food, for how much I am paying to belong here I expect way better food.

It is a nice and clean place. It has changed a lot in the past year or so. It is much more family friendly than before. Which is a good thing. I never had to wait for a machine or anything there always was lots of room. I enjoy the location.

I was waiting in the lobby for my friend to pick up her child from camp. I saw a young girl with long hair who works at the front front desk vape right at the desk! She tried to hide it in her sleeve but it happened right at the desk! I was shocked. Really classy Lifetime.

Great hours, kind staff, awesome sauna/hot tub/steam area and great workout area. The one downside is that there are no basketball courts or water slides- the good thing is that with a membership here you get access to Vernon Hills Lifetime and Old Orchard Lifetime, which are both 10-15 minutes away.

I love Lifetime! It's a great place to get a healthy bite to eat, enjoy a nice swim or lounge at the bistro area. The gym equipment itself is top of the line with so many different machines and stations. So much to offer with the numerous amount of classes including Yoga, Spin Classes, and many other group exercise workshops. I couldn't forget to mention how clean the gym is its impeccable! 5 stars!

It goes by quickly. It is a full body workout and the coaches are motivating, helpful and nice. Also if you miss a class you have to pay which is sometimes the only thing that makes me go in the early morning.
