Great donuts. The chocolate cake donuts have the kind of frosting every chocolate cake donut should have. Great service, nice girls working counter. Highly recommend this spot for real bakery donuts before you waste time going to Dunkin! Spend the extra money for the far superior treat.

Absolutely delicious. Soft delicate texture. I agree they're the best donuts in MN.

When I was an exchange student in Winona about 11 years ago, my host family and friends recommended this donut shop, apparently they served the best donuts ever - and they were right! I don't really have a sweet tooth but those maple donuts... wow. Many years later, I still think of them occasionally. I've never had better donuts before and after that.

4 of us went here for the first time yesterday 4-23-22, we were excited and anticipating a great experience, it was a disappointment...... it was steady stream busy, felt quite rushed to make our choices and get out of the way. But the donuts and cookies were the biggest disappointment, they are WAY OVER HYPED in the reviews. All 4 people agreed they were nothing special, the maple in the maple bars is so weak in flavor... the weakest I've ever had in over my 5 decades, the cookies were just ok.... with the exception of the raisin oatmeal which were quite good. The raspberry filled donuts were also good, a 7 on a scale of 10. But I've had much better tasting donuts from Cub foods and Kwik Trip. I would NEVER make a special trip here to buy anything, but if I was is the close vicinity, I would stop in to buy some oatmeal raisin cookies. I'm sorry for the mostly negative review, I sure wasn't thinking it was going to turn out this way. But it is MY honest opinion and experience.

Home town bakery like no other. Worth the wait. Better yet jump on line day before order your desires and pick up at window. Their buns are melt in your mouth delicious

This place is local, fresh, and a town icon. There are times when we drive 40 mins to get the donuts from Wisconsin. There is no seating just grab your goodies and go.

For several years of my youth I lived a block away from Bloedow's. Their building was even on my Winona Daily News paper route. Every week on Saturday morning my friends and I would walk over and purchase a dozen donuts for our weekend shenanigans. Then I left Winona. For 23 long years I have traveled and lived around the world. I have had many donuts during this dark age, but none compared to Bloedow's. A fact I was quick to share whenever asked. As the fates would have it, a road trip brought me within a few miles of Winona this past week. There was no way that I was going to pass up this opportunity, so despite being on a tight schedule, I made sure to reserve some time for a stroll down memory lane. I arrived in Winona an hour or so early, so my lady and I napped in the Wal-Mart parking lot. At 0600hrs we sprang into action, brushed our teeth, slapped on some deodorant, and drove straight to Bloedow's. I was nervous and excited. Twenty-three years is a long time. What if my memory of these delicious pastries was tainted with nostalgia? What if they had changed their recipe and ruined them? As these questions raced through my mind we turned the corner and the smell of fresh baked bread and pastries assaulted my nostrils. Just like that, I was home again. Everything, down to the decor, was exactly as I remembered it. We purchased our donuts and headed straight to the levee to watch the sunrise over the mighty Mississippi River. As I held my maple bacon long john in my hand all of my memories from Winona replayed in my head. I could bore you with the details of that first bite, but you probably aren't interested in skies parting, angels descending, animals bowing, and such. Suffice it to say, that after 23 years away from Winona, I can confirm that Bloedow's does indeed still make the BEST donuts in the world.

Bloedows bakery is by far the best bakery I've ever eaten at.. I've lived in 8 states and traveled many more. The chocolate cake and the maple long johns are my favorite. The homemade frosting melts in your mouth .. My mouth has an orgasm everytime I have one . 💯 % the best around. Unbeatable

Best donuts I've ever had. People in this area say how good Linda's Bakery in West Salem are. Linda's donuts are like day old donuts compared to these. They're better than French bakeries too. Hands down amazing, melt in your mouth deliciousness. Maple long John, glazers, glazed cinnamon rolls. It's hard to be disappointed at this place.

I worked in a donut shop all thru high school. This girl knows her donuts. The Bavarian cream-filled was fantastic. Sometimes, when donuts are filled, they just give a short squirt, so when you bite in one side, it's just donut and no filling. Not so here. Every bite contained some cream. And the chocolate icing was fantastic. It tasted more like cake frosting than the kind where the pastry is dipped into it. However, I wasn't a huge fan of the donuts made with the yellow dough. Kinda dry. I'm guessing this is their signature dough, so it's probably a fan fave. Try it. See what you think. Tips: Go early for best selection. And I was told I could always pre-order bread a few days in advance. They have rye with caraway! Oh, yeah.

I love traditions and this fine donut establishment is here for so many years for a reason. Best donuts in a 50 mile radius easily. Can't wait to go back.

Bloedow's did our donuts for our wedding - more than half of our guests were from out of state and were raving about the donuts! I would recommend Bloedows to anyone looking to order for events - communication was great and pricing is very fair.

by far the best donut shop I've ever been to. chocolate and maple long johns are amazing, Bavarian cream stuffed donuts are another great choice or the apple stuffed, my all time favorite though is by far the homemade lemon bars..... OMG perfect amount of sweet and lemon flavor dusted with powdered sugar!!!

Quick and friendly service and an amazing array of donuts! If I’d placed a pickup order ahead of time maybe I wouldn’t have purchased so many. 😆

I have loved Bloedows bakery doughnuts since I was a kid. I stop here every time I pass through and bring some to share with friends and family. I honestly dont like other doughnuts after eating these my whole life. I always make sure to get in early to get the best availability since they are so good it draws a crowd! Maple long johns are our personal favorite

You will never find better donuts and cookies than what Bloedow’s. Their jelly filled is unmatched and their coconut cookies are amazing. Service is friendly.

Pretty good local donuts. I got the maple long john, apple pie, glazed and peanut butter with raspberry filling. It was a busy place! The line was out the door (went late morning) and people were buying them by the dozen. You'll have to choose with your eyes because there is no listing or signage.

I am not a donut person but recommend that you splurge on a Maple Bacon Long John if you're in the area 🤯😋😎 Or any other donut that strikes your fancy. WOW is all I can say. Delicious.

Oh my Gosh the croissant donut was super yummy. And they actually have a loaf of bread that is round to make round sandwiches. My family had fun making them. I would definitely go again!

Well, if you are from Winona you know how the donuts are. If you are unfamiliar with this place, then get your A$$ to Bloedows and discover what real donuts are supposed to taste like. Make sure you get a bacon and maple long john to truly enjoy a mouthful of deliciousness. Also don't forget cookies, or donut holes, or glazed croissants, or cinnamon rolls, or well, anything. Get one of everything that is the best way to enjoy.
