This beautiful bed and breakfast was the perfect spot for our small wedding. We had never been to Asheville and Willy and Shawnie were the perfect hosts. In addition to the absolutely amazing breakfasts and treats, and the lovely, well appointed rooms, they provided excellent advice for the best spots to visit on our honeymoon. Shawnie worked with me prior to our visit to get everything ready for the wedding and she handled all the details. We had beautiful flowers and an absolutely adorable tiny wedding cake - perfect for me my new husband. After the ceremony, our officiant, also arranged by Shawnie, performed a truly memorable song for us. It was all very sweet and I am just so happy that we ended up here for our special event. I can't thank them enough for all they did to make our wedding and honeymoon amazing.

My wife and I returned here and stayed in The Cloisters. It has been several years since we have been here. Under new management and many needed upgrades and refurbishments have been implemented. An absolutely blissful experience. Quiet, relaxed setting near downtown. Walking distance from wonderful food and drinks.Very attentive service with respect for your privacy. Coffee, Expresso, gourmet desserts and snacks throughout the day if you desire, All were exquisite. Everything we loved about this place was on point. Thank you to everyone involved for making us feel welcome and comfortable. Our Doberman Ronin Lucius was also very pleased. Definitely our place to stay in Asheville.

Had a 9 day stay at the 1900 Inn on Montford at Christmas time and Willy and Shawnie were so hospitable and kind. Everyday there was a different delicious breakfast. We were there on a Saturday for live music, what a treat! They gave great recommendations for dinner spots and activities to do locally. We stayed in the Zelda room the suite on the top floor was beautiful, this room would be fantastic for people looking for a 2 room suite. Loved the whole Inn, the history, the decoration, the cleanliness, and the sheets! Will definitely be going back for more stays in the future!

Just returned from a long weekend at 1900 Inn on Montfort. It was a reunion trip to spend time with my cousin, and Shawnie and Willy (the owners) truly helped make it a wonderful trip. They assisted us with where to eat, what to do, and places to see. All of their recommendations were much-appreciated, and we didn’t have a single forgettable experience. We enjoyed delicious breakfasts (which included breakfast dessert😋), and delectable homemade cookies that were available for “anytime” snacking. The bluegrass music on Saturdays at 6:00 definitely contributes to the regional mountain experience, and is worth scheduling your dining around! The 1900 Inn on Montfort was the perfect backdrop to a weekend of reminiscing, catching up, and spending quality time together! —-Shawnie and Willy: Thank you so much for your very kind hospitality (including your responsiveness when we locked ourselves out). I don’t think that I ever saw either one of you without a smile on your face, including the lockout rescue!😬🤣 We thoroughly enjoyed our time with you, and the coziness and sense of home that you have provided for patrons was perfect for sharing family stories and creating new memories. We wish you all of the best!

We stayed here last October for 3 nights after our Wedding and it was PURE BLISS. Great location in the heart of historic Asheville. So close to all the incredible local restaurants, breweries, and shopping Asheville has to offer. Willy gave us the best recommendations for restaurants, hikes, and breweries. Shawnie and Willy both made some of the best breakfasts we’ve ever eaten. I still dream about Shawnie’s chocolate croissants and homemade cookies. Truly the most hospitable innkeepers! They went above and beyond to make our stay feel so special. The welcome congratulations photo at the front, a chilled bottle of Prosecco in our room and the local chocolates were just a few small details to mention. We can’t wait to come back and celebrate more anniversaries here! -The Stevens

A delightful first visit which is sure to be our go to place in Asheville! So many personal touches by truly thoughtful hosts. An unexpected upgrade, a bottle of Prosecco and sweet note for our anniversary and the delightful breakfasts, all made our stay wonderful. But the Innkeepers are the highlight of the Inn. Such a friendly and welcoming pair. We hated to leave. But we will back!!!

My girlfriend and I came to Asheville to celebrate coming back together after five months apart, and the 1900 Inn on Montford made our experience so special. The inn wasn’t at full capacity that weekend, so Shawnie and Willy were kind enough to offer us a complimentary upgrade to the Rosetti Room, the most romantic room at the Inn. The room is equipped with a deep two person tub and the most amazing steam shower! We also loved being spoiled with breakfast in bed. The amount of thought that is put into each guest’s experience is remarkable—from fresh baked cookies at check-in to in-room touches like flowers and chocolates to personalized activity recommendations. If you’re looking for a romantic getaway where you’ll be treated like family, definitely give them a try!

If you were to take each different part of the experience and rate it separately, you would come here just for each individual part alone. Then you put them all together, and you have a slice of heaven here on earth! This is one of the best places i have ever stayed at, and i am a self-admitted princess. From even before we arrived to the time we left, 1900 Inn on Montford has been one of my best travel experiences! I spoke with Shawnie, one of the owners, prior to our arrival. She gave us excellent suggestions for places to eat and things to do, she took down my food allergies, she listened to the information i gave her about our dog, she was such s pleasure to talk to. They have 3 different concierges that we spoke with or had the pleasure to engage with once here. Shawnie's husband and co owner, Willy, greeted us upon our arrival. He is just as welcoming and friendly as Shawnie is. I've stayed at "pet friendly" places before and been satisfied, but now... nothing compares to 1900 Inn on Montford! They gave as much care to dog "patrons " as to the human ones. They was a basket with dog towels, a lighted leash & poo bags. There is a dog bed(washable cover for cleanliness between fur guests) and dog bowls. They even include a homemade dog cookie on the most amazing homemade breakfast(for us humans) tray. I can't say enough great things about the owners, and the staff, and this incredible B&B. The hospitality is incredible. The house and the carriage house with the pet friendly rooms are gorgeous and so well taken care of. Again, I am a tough grader, and this place blew my socks off! Not one single thing could i gripe about. Not one! We made reservations already for a return trip. Incredible. Amazing. Gorgeous. We stayed in The Cloisters. I could just stay in the room, it is that amazing! Thanks to Willy & Shawnie and their staff for this incredible staff. They have spoiled me for the rest of my trips as now anyplace I go, I will be using 1900 Inn on Montford as the standard. I can't say enough great things about this place!

The absolute best experience we have ever had. Willie and Shawnie have hit it out of the park with their B&B- 1900 Inn on Montford. From the home made breakfasts to the old fashioned hospitality...In all of our travels, we've never experienced something so wonderful as this. If you can book the Cloister room you will be truly amazed. Thank you to the Gruber family and staff for making our stay fantastic!

We didn't want to leave. My Husband and I recently stayed in the Cloisters Suite at the 1900 Inn on Montford and had an amazing time. Willy and Shawnie made us feel so welcomed and the Cloisters suite was private, beautiful, comfortable, spacious, clean and quiet . The three course breakfast each morning was above and beyond. Something different each morning and not your average hum drum breakfast. Also, let's not forget Shawnie's homemade cookies throughout the day. On our arrival, we were greeted by the Conceriege, Christine, who showed us around our suite. Also greeting us were fresh flowers, Asheville chocolates and champagne.... Wow! They also have Saturday evening porch music with coffee, wine and craft beers, so much fun. This is a first class Bed and Breakfast that we highly recommend. The title of my testimonial is , didn't want to leave and that is how my Husband and I judge a vacation getaway. If you don't want to leave, then you know it was the right choice. PS. We love it so much, we have booked another date! Vicki and Jimmy Grady

Just got home from another wonderful stay at 1900 Inn on Montford. We stayed in Zelda, it is spacious suite with 2 bedrooms and a comfortable sitting area. The bathroom was remodeled this year and includes a steam shower and a beautiful soaker tub! The weather was great for walking and hiking, ask Willy for recommendations on the best places to go…..he knows them all! Already planning my next trip to Asheville and will definitely be staying at 1900 Inn on Montford! 1900 Inn on Montford = DESTINATION in Asheville!!

There are a number of lovely B&Bs in Asheville, many with strong ties to the rich history of the town. If all you’re looking for is a place to sleep, any of them will do. But if you’re looking for an incredible experience with superb breakfasts and an amazing attention to detail, stay at the 1900 Inn on Montford. Our small business Knitrino hosted a knitting retreat in Asheville that was held across a number of B&Bs in the area, and the very best decision we made was adding 1900 Inn on Montford to the lineup. Willy & Shawnie were incredible, like adding a full team to our tiny staff of 2! They coordinated so many things that were well outside the purview of innkeepers, from making sure we had plenty of excellent wine and beer at our opening night party, to introducing us to local chefs, scheduling porch music to align with our party, and even making a stencil from our logo for the powdered sugar that was dusted on breakfast. They accommodated our every request, and even accommodated things we couldn’t have asked for. When we didn’t have a gluten-free option for our dessert the second night (at a DIFFERENT venue) they whipped up a batch of gluten-free cookies for us, to which one guest proclaimed “This is the best cookie I’ve ever eaten!” The inn itself is exquisite, with large comfortable beds and stunning bathrooms. The breakfasts are outstanding. But hands-down the best part of the 1900 Inn on Montford is the innkeepers–they’re the reason we’ll come back!

This place is very special. We have stayed at many luxury hotels around the world but we keep coming back to the Inn. We have stayed twice in the Cloisters room and will absolutely be returning again. The room is fantastic - large, beautiful touches and amenities, and a luxury spa bathroom. Our most recent stay was right before Christmas and Shawnie and Willy made the room feel festive. We love their espresso/coffee machines, the best-weve-ever-had cookies, and the varied breakfasts. We got to enjoy live bluegrass music with a holiday twist in the Inn which was wonderful. The neighborhood is quiet and very walkable but also close to town and all the fun things to explore in Asheville. Simply put, there are no complaints. If you're like us, you'll also want to bring things home from the Inn to remind you of your time there like their sheets, blankets, and mugs. We're forever fans!

Beautiful bed and breakfast that has everything you could ask for and more. Everything you see is pleasing to the eye and it's simply magical to stay in one of the rooms in the carriage house. The location is close to downtown Asheville, we've actually walked into downtown before when feeling particularly active. The best parts of staying here are the owners and the breakfast. The owners are very kind and friendly people who you can tell truly enjoy what they do. The breakfasts that Shawnie makes are amazing. My husband and I talk about the food all year and savor every bite when we get to return.

Everything was so magical! The Rossetti room is beautiful! The steam shower was very fun. Bed was comfy! The owners were so sweet and accommodating. Coffee from the main house was delicious. Breakfast was to die for! This was a great place to spend at for our honeymoon. It was romantic, quiet, and exactly what we wanted.

Where do I begin? This fairytale oasis proved to be beyond our wildest dreams. The couple who own this place are able to anticipate every need of their guests, nourish them, and treat them like family. We rented out the entire inn for my wedding weekend and they went over and beyond to accommodate everyone who stayed & family who visited from out of town. Staying at this inn provided me with the most memorable and beautiful moments with my loved ones. Willie & his beautiful wife have infused the Inn on Montford with love, care, and beauty. I cannot wait to stay here again in the future. I cannot imagine an Asheville where the Inn on Montford & Willie & his wife don’t exist. So much love for this special place!!! ❤️

The 1900 Inn on Montford is the prefect B&B experience!! Shawnie & Willy and the entire staff, are delightful and could not have been more inviting. They are the kind of people you meet and feel as if you have known them forever. The food was wonderful and Willy even help accommodate for my husband’s allergies. Highly recommend 1900 inn on Montford if you are looking for a B&B in Asheville. We can’t wait to plan another trip.

1900 Inn on Montford was an incredible find. The location is close to town and a central location for hiking spots. Which Willy is happy to recommend his favorite hikes and even helped us pick out which one we would be going to. Willy and Shawnie are the friendliest hosts and BEST cooks. We are still talking about the frittata and chocolate croissant we had on the last day. They really make you feel welcome and at home. We also loved getting to say hi to the bestest girl, Clementine! The room (William Morris) was incredible. It was spotless when we came in. The private courtyard was perfect to open our doors to and let our dog hang out in. The steam showers and jet tub were also perfect after a long day of hiking. Our favorite spot (& dogs) was sitting in front of the fireplace. We did not want to leave, even contemplated canceling our other next stop to stay a few more days in town. We will be back & recommending them to our family and friends.

This is a wonderful Inn! Everything was just perfect. The innkeepers are friendly and informative. Our room was spotless and very comfortable. The breakfast was the best I’ve ever had at a B&B. Additionally, fresh baked cookies were always available as well as various coffee and tea offerings. You will not find a better location in Asheville! I can’t praise this Inn enough!

I stayed at Inn on Montfort last weekend for my best friend’s wedding. As if spending a magical fall weekend in Asheville wasn’t perfect enough, our trip was elevated by the service and expertise of Willy, Shawnee, and Vanna. They were gracious, welcoming, accommodating, and entertaining hosts! The Inn felt like a secluded castle, and the breakfasts were incredibly flavorful and visually appealing. I cannot recommend this place enough! The entire place was spotless and tastefully decorated, the beds were SO comfortable, and they even had live music. The attention to detail and the incomparable hosts make this a truly wonderful home away from home. Book your room NOW!

We just love staying here! The pet friendly carriage house rooms are ideal; private and easy for pet care. The bed and bedding was so comfy! The breakfasts are amazing, the owners went above and beyond to deliver us gorgeous vegan fare for breakfast each morning to meet our needs! The neighborhood is walking distance to downtown and the historic cemetery. We just can’t say enough about it all except that we do and will continue to return year after year!

I stayed at 1900 Inn on Montford to celebrate my birthday about 8 or 9 months ago. I was a little nervous as this was first time staying at a bed and breakfast. It was a solo trip for me and usually I think of B and Bs as mainly for couples or groups. But the owners are super friendly made me feel like I was at home. Being welcomed to birthday balloons upon check in was a thoughtful touch. They host a lovely breakfast and an evening reception with complimentary cocktails. As a coffee lover I enjoyed the all day access to the coffee machine in the main building. Unfortunately, I wasn't able to partake in listening to the band since I stayed on a non weekend day. The lodging is in ideal area for an easy quick drive to some of breweries, Biltmore, and other attractions. My only regret was that I couldn't stay longer than 2 nights.

1900 Inn on montford was amazing! Beautiful, luxuriously appointed room. It's everything as described before you get there and then some. From the people to the atmosphere it was a warm, inviting experience. The food was delicious, so well thought out, and more than ample portions. Let me address the value for the $$ spent. When you consider the luxury accommodations, the privacy/security of the inn, free safe parking off the street, delicious gormet breakfast /treats, no pet deposit or fees, the very personal service(as much or as little as you desire), and the multi-day stay discount you cannot beat 1900 inn on montford. Break it down, compare it to other stays you've had elsewhere, at a moderately priced hotel, and all the extra charges for anything above a room and the value is evident. Compare it to moderate to better hotels in the area, that won't have as luxurious a room, and again you can see the value is evident. Let me add there's plenty to do in Asheville or you can simply relax. This inn was so quiet, shaded, and cool it was easy to just relax. Please try 1900 Inn On Montford. You won't be disappointed.

Wow what a nice time I had . When i read past reviews, i thought it can't be that great!! Boy was I wrong, I fell in love with the soak tubs and the over head showers. My wife was very pleased, as this was her birthday present. The owner Willy and his wife, was excellent host as well as the young man that met us at the front area as we checked in. I would have no reservations about going again. Well deserved 5 star rating My wife Phyllis and I enjoyed the 3 course breakfast, and the evening wine down in the parlor. The front porch was great as we sipped wine outside on the front porch. The only complaint i would have, is not staying longer !!!!

We had the most amazing stay at the 1900 Inn on Montford. The Inn is cozy, clean and upscale. We loved the fireplace and rainfall shower in our room. The owners obviously take great pride in their work - we loved the Saturday night music, fresh baked cookies daily and 3 course breakfast. They were also able to accommodate my gluten allergy safely! We were very sad to leave and 10/10 would stay again!

We thoroughly enjoyed our two-night stay in April. Truly wonderful. We were in The Fitzgerald room. Very comfortable, quiet, and well designed. Very comfortable bed and the shower/bath design features were an absolute kick. Showers from the ceiling, creative floor lighting, great jacuzzi tub. All wonderfully clean. The amenities at the inn were also very enjoyable. Fantastic coffee maker, variety of homemade cookies, fantastic breakfasts both mornings, comfortable and enjoyable front porch and reading rooms. Shawnie and Willy both very friendly and engaging. High touch from concierge-guided arrival to departure. The location is very accessible to anything Asheville; even walked to dinner just a block or two away the first evening. Could not have asked for more. Would love a return visit. Thank you both for a wonderful stay!

I absolutely love the privacy here! Just what me and my husband needed for a weekend away. The breakfast was AMAZING-beautifully presented and quite tasty, hand delivered to us in our room! Very comfortable beds, the massage therapists were very attentive and did an awesome job! Also with the heated floors and towel bar along with the jacuzzi and steam shower in Zelda's retreat...OMG the ultimate spa experience!!!
