If you are looking for some peace, you need to seat on a bench at this park. You can go and enjoy a beautiful sunset with the Lake Apopka view and just relax. Enough Parking available.

I drove an hour here just to check out how many is “a lot of peacocks” based on Google Maps reviews. We only saw four. That’s the sound of the peacock communicating with the other peacock. My vision of a lot would be at least a dozen or more like at Ponce de Leon’s Fountain of Youth. Highlights: 1. There's several play ground structures scattered around the park but mainly for ages 3-12 but doesn't have those modern obstacle/balancing/climbing structures. My little people got bored quick so not sure if this is even a 'highlight'. 2. Camp site next to park 3. Sandy volleyball court 4. Shaded picnic areas and gazebos 5. Lots of shade around the play structures 6. If you really have nothing better to do than drive an hour here like me to find and look for peacocks to take pictures of, then this is probably worth the place and time. Took some nice pictures of the peacocks so I guess visiting this park for peacocks pictures can be worthwhile.

What a great county park and campground! Well kept grounds, and nice shade trees. Great playground areas too. Peacocks roam the park and are beautiful but they also had warnings about them being aggressive. People were feeding them too. Camping was very nice, despite the rain. Bike trail and Lake area was under construction, but we accessed Lake Apopka Wildlife trail off Lust Rd & S. Bunion.

Beautiful park across the street from Lake Apopka and the new eco-tourism facility with fishing pier and boat ramp which is also run by the park service. It should be opening up soon and also has new restrooms and playground. Definitely worth going to if you enjoy the outdoors.🤠 This is my second favorite Orange County park behind Trimble Park as of now. I haven't visited all the Orange County parks yet.

Relaxing park, as you walk around if you don't see peacocks on the ground, look up in the trees they may be above you. Large open areas for playing and running. A few playground areas. Plenty of picnic tables. Looks like a nice kept camping area.

This was a beautiful park. The view and the nature was amazing. You have to check out the peacocks here. They seem to be chill with people taking pictures of them. Peacocks every where in this huge park actually. We actually got to collect some Peacock features too. There is also all sorts of stuff at this park though. A beautiful little pond in the middle of the park. A basketball court as soon as you enter into the parking lot and volley ball (with beach sand) on the other side of the pond. There is even picnic areas and multiple little spots for kids to here their playground time. There is so much to do here and see here.

The new upgrades they have done for the lake side park were well worth the wait!!! The pier & boat dock offer some amazing photo opportunities. The campground side offers many walking paths, bathrooms, water fountains with doggie fountains! This park in the mornings make for a great place to walk your dog or yourself😉.

I thought they would never get finished with this project, It was one of my favorite places in the area to watch sunsets over the water. I was really impressed with what they created, it was so well thought out and complementary to the local environment; worth the wait with a huge parking area and huge new restroom area. They left the picnic pavilion and the little white archway down by the waterfront but created a wonderful walkway out over the water near the pavilion with a dock and multiple boat slips - an incredible view of the whole lake. The huge new playground area is mostly under cover, and I didn’t make it into the Eco info center yet, next trip. I went back the next evening to check out the reopened boat ramp area, because typical Florida evenings at this time of year are hit or miss for great sunsets due to the rain, looks like they added a new dock area and there is a shaded picnic area to the side. The drive down and the parking lot is newly repaved with a dozen boat parking spots. Despite the rain overhead, in the distance, I caught the gem of a sunset I was waiting for. This side of the park is across the street from the campground, and catch the Lake Apopka Loop Trail that goes through and the drivable Lake Apopka Wildlife Trail is not far away. Definitely worth the wait, and despite the rain I got my sunset. I feel a bit safer now being over top of the water and not just at the edge. Always remember this is a natural environment and wildlife including gators can be ever present.

update ****beware of the drinking fountain outside the playground. The water comes out extremely hot!***** Always loved this park but the upgrades are fantastic. One of the most advanced parks I’ve ever been to with really unique play structures. Good Shad’s covers as well.

This park is absolutely gorgeous for the views. We saw a gator floating by. A local said that there is tons of alligators in this lake.

Went with a group camping and loved everything about it. The group camp site is awesome- so much room and set up so well for tents, eating, and activities. Plus there’s an amazing “friendship circle” group fire pit. The restrooms were well taken care of and the rangers (?) were so nice and helpful. We’ve camped in other sites and parks and that is not always the experience. Nick even gave us a tour of the new educational center across the street and handled our crew of 11-15 year olds perfectly! We will definitely return!

This is a very pretty park! Walked a bit with my dog. Adequate parking. Looked for trail. You can park at the park and walk across the street to do the Lake Apopka Loop Trail. There's some construction, but the trail itself isn't affected by it. Not much to see, but nice spot for a picnic. There were some homeless people hanging out at some of the picnic tables, so not sure about that, but I'd come back to do the loop trail!

It's a fantastic place to camp. Well lit in the evenings, small closed trash receptacles every other camp space, nice dump station, friendly staff and peacocks by the pond make this a great place.

A beautiful park with many options for enjoying the outdoors. There is everything from pavilions for group events to a boat ramp and docking area and a large playground for children. There is also access to the educational nature trail along Lake Apopka.

Excellent place to have a picnic, barbecue or a larger gathering for a party. We got invited to a small birthday party there and we were able to occupy a couple of tables with benches there and use a grill. It was free to enter. We absolutely enjoyed the nature. Great place to play volleyball, badminton or any do other outdoor activities.

A beautiful park! When you park on the lake it’s such a beautiful view. There are bathrooms and a bunch of flowers to attract butterflies at the lake and the park is well maintained. In order to get on the walking/biking path you need to follow the paved path for about half a mile. When you get to the actual trail it is a gravel path. There are plenty of bugs (infested with grasshoppers) throughout the trail. I would not suggest doing this trail in the middle of the day because there is zero shade and it gets hot! I started at 10:00 am and by the time I was done it was blistering. I would say it is probably better for biking but if you’re like me and like to hike it is doable. This trail extends for up to 20 miles which I did not do of course but it has plenty of options. 😊

This is a very quiet relaxing park. Plenty of deer to see.Bathrooms showers clean. They have water and electric but no sewage hook up but don't worry they do have a dump station. The park is very well maintain. For the price if 16:00 a night you can't go wrong

Very nice park. Plenty of spaces for cooking out and birthday parties. Majestic oaks and wildlife around the area. Lake Apopka Trail begins here as well.

This is the coolest park in the Ocoee/Apopka area. Wild peacocks 🦚 roam throughout the park as well, adding an extra feeling of being in Florida. There are several different playgrounds for kids of all ages as well as pavilions for parties.
