Great place that has been here for YEARS, historic actually. Dog friendly, not just service dogs , allowed outside on the patio. Patio shaded, dogs get treats, and seating is very comfortable. We ate fish tacos, and they were fantastic. Cole slaw was excellent, salad was perfect. Plenty of drinks and dishes to choose from. Inside the Cafe is incredibly fun and interesting to see, booths are comfortable, seating is very great. Nice staff. Clean. Bathrooms are clean and easy access. Do not miss the opportunity to eat here, and enjoy!

Great place with really nice genuine staff and staple diner eats. They even have gluten free bread! Big space with outdoor patio too

Was super busy but for one person I went there and ate and got out. Friendly staff and clean dishes. I would definitely go again!

Really enjoyed my experience here. No frills diner. Efficient, friendly, clean. Food was enjoyable too. I had a veggie omelet with modifications that were easily accommodated. Weather cooperated on this day too with their large outdoor patio. I can imagine this place is a machine behind the scenes. Consistency is the name of the game. Keep up the good work!!! I'll be back next week.

Desi was our waitress. She treated us with a smile and was very friendly. Our Pork Chops and Eggs were delicious. 😋 Debbie came by and was very pleasant and made us feel welcomed. A big shout-out to Javier who is the Cook but played the role of Busboy for the day. He was running around non-stop refilling coffee cups and picking up the dishes and welcoming and sitting all incoming new customers. He truly showed care with a smile and genuine hospitality for this place. We're locals to Encinitas, so we'll frequent it more often. Thank you. 🙏🏼

Loved this place. Will definitely go again when we are in town. I had the chicken fried steak and eggs. My wife had corn beef hash. Both were excellent

Our go to breakfast spot. I love that they they are open until 4pm and serve breakfast all day. (Sometimes I find myself at 2pm brunch and I want an omelet!) Service is friendly, attentive, and fast. Great outdoor seating area, with a vintage style interior with diner booths and old school photos of downtown Encinitas adorning the walls. I go for anything eggy. My husband loves the tuna melt. An Encinitas staple, definitely check it out.

This is the epitome of homemade food away from home. So homey and welcoming! The food was great and the staff were all very friendly. I really wish we had more places like this still. ❤️ such a nice restaurant!

Excellent mimosas. French toast was outstanding. But the hash browns were perfect. Love this place

I drive up from San Diego just for the burger. Can't be beat. Friendly personable staff and pooch Friendly. Was able to order a hamburger Patty for my perro Amarillo Mexicano.

This place is the best. Dreaming about breakfast. Love that they have heinz ketchup bottles and log cabin syrup bottles on the tables. Food is traditional, classic. The best thing about the food is that is is cooked the right way. The little things like ordering hash browns well done, or eggs over medium, if not executed correctly, can ruin a meal. Not here. The staff is also extremely professional. Everything a customer needs is offered. Wish they had this place back home. Highly recommended.

I had lunch there today. I ordered the half sandwich and soup or salad. I ordered a turkey sandwich on toasted sourdough with a salad. I also ordered a side of onion rings. The salad was ok. The sandwich was dry. Thick pieces of dry turkey with a bit of mayo and lettuce. No onion, tomato, mustard, etc. The onion rings were god awful disgusting. They were like mini grease bombs that exploded in your mouth. The service was excellent. The waitress offered to get the manager but I refused. This was a No star experience, except for server. I gave three stars because I hate to judge based on a couple of items from the menu. Not sure if I would go back. Lots of people there so something must be good from the menu.

This was a disappointing, very mediocre experience. They had all the comfort/breakfast foods you'd want on the menu but once the items arrived, you didn't really want to eat more than a few bites. The quality of ingredients and the duration of cooking seemed to be off. Items very drier that they should have been (eggs/hashbrowns, etc.) and didn't have an appealing taste to them (dull). There are much better restaurants right around this place. I won't be going back, unfortunately.

Crispy taters and bacon how it should be and pretty good choco chip pancakes. Price is high but you expect that in this area, all in all decent option, but not gonna knock your socks off, especially if you’re wearing flip flops.

What a charming dinner with great food and the most attentive and friendly service. Their parklet is very nice with plenty of umbrellas. The highlights for us we the Greek omelet and the buttermilk pancakes. If your looking for a welcoming breakfast spot in Encinitas, this is the place. Locals tip--parking is behind and you can walk right through the restaurant to the front.

Simple food done right. Don’t come here expecting the latest of gastro molecular cuisine. They do simple food and they do it incredibly well. The staff is always so friendly and welcoming and the food is always consistently delicious. This place is an Encinitas staple and one I will frequent for as long as I live in north county

I love going to the Encinitas Cafe for breakfast and lunch, it reminds me of growing up in Jersey with the local feel to it and the kind of diner food. The food is great, the portions are just right and everyone is very friendly. Since COVID started they setup a whole outdoor section that’s pretty cool and nice to sit out on. The only thing I don’t like about sitting outside is are the loud bikes always going by revving their engines. If you can put up with that then try it out you won’t go wrong in this place especially if you want some comfort food or the best pancakes around! 😋

Our breakfast was perfect. The banana walnut bread is served warm, incredible. My Bacon. Avocado, & cheddar omelette was excellent. Great coffee & service!

I have been here lots of times and we always have a good experience. I love the fish tacos and my boyfriend love the turkey dinner. Wierd those two really don’t go together. But the place makes them both well.

Large selection of diner food. We had burgers, they were good, not amazing. A little under seasoned, but I think generally thats how diner food is. The fries were absolutely delicious. Good place to go if you're hungry and the other restaurants around have long waits

I was a good atmosphere. Just wish for the amount of money spent the portions would of been bigger.

Amazing food. We had the pork chops and eggs, order the banana nut bread you won’t be disappointed. Coffee is fresh and tasty, service is always friendly and welcoming. It’s a tradition for us to eat here now.

Great service and delicious food! Hot cocoa with mile high whipped cream, avocado bacon omelette and corned beef hash were all amazing. Banana walnut bread like grandma used to make. Love the cafe booths - and fast service. Would definitely go back again!
