To me this is an academy/school. The professor is a humble man. He’s keen to make sure that every student understands the move from position, transition to submission. He also shares variations to a move with the proper technique. He’s patient and have answers to all of our questions which makes it much easier to be encouraged to learn. I can’t say enough about the environment that for one is void of egos. The professor and his wife are beautiful people through and through that is about as high level as one can get. OSS!

This gym is the family we’ve been looking for. My husband and I tried other martial arts for our kids and we tried other bjj gyms. Nothing ever fit for our kids. When we found WHBJJ we knew the first week something was different. Coach Melvin and his wife, Mrs. Alicia, are amazing people. They have more patience than I knew was possible especially working with so many children. We have kids in each of the age group classes. We started with 3 kids and now both my husband and I have joined the adult class. We are just waiting for our youngest to have another birthday and the whole family will be at WHBJJ. This place has become our family.

I stopped in while visiting Legoland with my family. Melvin and his team were great. I joined one of their open mats and got some vacation rolls in. The rolls were solid and the people were friendly. I look forward to sharing the mat with them again. If you are ever in the area check this place out.

Today I was given a very warm welcome by WHBJJ while visiting family in town! This gym is not only spic and span clean, but it had extra features such as punching bags as well as areas for weight lifting! Coach Melvin and his team were extremely professional as well as calm and easy going! It made me feel very relaxed while rolling, giving us a lot of room to work on our craft without worry. Coach Melvin saw that I was eager for work and personally asked if I’d like to work a session on Thai pads, and I gladly accepted! We did a couple rounds and he really really worked me! His jiu jitsu is phenomenal and every student of his is serious about getting better. Thank you for the work, I very much appreciate it Winter Haven BJJ! This gym will be my home away from home when I visit family!

The best fighting gym I’ve been to. Bar none. I’ve been to other jiu jitsu schools in winterhaven, and boxing gyms out of state, and whbjj has by far been the friendliest, and also has the best coaches. If you want to get into combat sports, start here.

Attended my first class this evening and although I was nervous, I was welcomed like an old friend. Coach Melvin is awesome and was super patient teaching me techniques while also running the class. If I could give them 10 stars I would.

after this was written there were subsequent classes that were better. Previously 75% of the classtime children were engaged in waiting for equipment set up or waiting for their turn. Zero time was spent on any type of martial arts. Two out of three "instructors" either stood around doing nothing or antagonized children rather than keeping children engaged. Four to six year olds were given about ten sequential instructions all at once, to use later, when it was their turn, far beyond their age capacity, causing failure. Method used for numbering children caused chaos. Bored students ran head on into each other, punched each other, played with a fan, etc. out of boredom, due to way too much down time. Nothing was planned for early arrivals and while instructor set up equipment, so chaos ensued.

Top notch facility welcoming to families. Coach and Mrs. Alicia are great with the kids, which we have 3 of them enjoying their training. The facilities are always clean and the kids are worn out when they leave, but with smiles.

Great coaches and amazing owners. Family oriented and super welcoming. The coaches are patient with students and everyone practices respectfully. Who and drama are left at the door. I’ve brought a couple friends in and they all love it. I would definitely recommend to others.

I was searching for a place to get some rolls in while visiting family during the Thanksgiving holiday and I came across Brazilian Top Team Winter Haven. I checked their social media and decided to give them a try. What a great decision that was, Professor Melvin and his students treated me as one of their own. I got some very good rolls in and also learned a few techniques from Professor Melvin. If you are in town or want to try Jiujitsu, give them a try. Their hospitality was very welcoming and I had an awesome experience. What a great group of guys! I will definitely visit them next time I come visit family. Thanks again, Professor Melvin.

Great gym , Great coach , and Great environment. This gym makes you feel like a family . It’s a very uplifting and encouraging atmosphere when learning a new technique . I’d recommended this gym over any other .
