Very nice and beautiful train ride. We also went on a tour of the mine and panned for gold, and we were happy that we did. The gold is approximately $10 worth...which was fun to find. All of the employees that we encountered were very nice and enjoyable. We recommend this train ride...we sat in an open car and it was really enjoyable.

The scenery was beautiful and the train ride was an enjoyable experience overall. One thing to keep in mind, the cars are open air. Some are completely open, most have have roofs or awnings. The cars with roofs have windows at the front and back of the car. The trip between Georgetown and Silver Plume isn't very long but you probably want to use the bathroom beforehand since there are no facilities on board.

I loved this experience. Small town Silver Plum but it's in my heart. Very pintorest. I rather recommend head out from the Silver Plume that the Devil's gate. Both has the same route. Please visit Plume Coffee Bar in Main Street, you will love it 💜

Wonderful day activity for the family. Definitely worth the ticket price. No additional parking fees. Get on in Silver Plume for smaller crowds. Gift shops have fun items and snacks. You can bring food and drinks on board (no alcohol).

This was an experience of a lifetime. We haven't rode a train together before, and we got the chance today. The views were unbelievable... especially the tall bridge we went over. She was terrified at first, but returning over it, she felt at ease. We bought a jacket and a sweater because it gets chilly. I highly recommend a trip here for fun. They even have mining caves to explore, and you'll get back on the train.

Such a great experience! Between the sights, sounds, feels of a steam train and the history behind the rail road, it was a blast! Great place for the kids too as it isn't too long and everyone stayed interested.

It's cool. Don't get me wrong beautiful experience. Super cool. It's technically not a loop and is not like other "loops" where you get the opportunity to see both sides of the mountain no matter what way you sit. Also it's advertised I think more than you actually see in regards to fall colors. To me the site makes it seem like you are taking the ride for that at this time of year, no doubt it was beautiful but if you are expecting a lot of Aspen or colors just know it's mostly pine that you see. It's still a beautiful place and expirenece overall.

I definitely recommend going to see the aspens changing colors. There aren’t a ton, but the ones we saw were pretty. Was a fun outing with my family and they tell you a lot of fun facts about the railroad during the ride. Just an fyi, the photos they take for you at before the ride starts are $25 for 2 and $10 per each additional photo if you choose to purchase them.

Historic mining and railroad park, used extensively during the silver boom of the 1880s. Scenic and enjoyable steam train ride into the Rocky Mountains.

Great little museum, but not much stock. The displays they have are great though.

Is the end of the loop for the train you cannot buy tickets here you have to buy them somewhere else

Just take a short walk from the railway into the town. Amazing architecture and old mining town ephemera.

Nice train ride for the whole family

A fun experience with an interesting history. Just FYI the turnaround point at the top is right next to I-70, not at a remote mining location.

We only did the train ride to the mining place and back again. Our son enjoyed the ride and seeing the sites along the way.

Great train ride! Our four year old loved it and it was just the right time to keep him interested. Get there early to find parking spot.

This place is great ! Took the family here and we had a blast . Super clean and the train ride in the torrential downpour was even better experience. The natural waterfalls and the white water are great . We’ll worth the money

A perfect day trip when visiting the mountain. It's a beautiful ride on an open train. If you're lucky, like we were, you'll see deer running through the forest from the Train. A definite highlight for a mountain trip.

The train ride was okay, a little bit short, but fun. The mine tour was educational for kids and well worth the money. Just make sure you bring a extra cloth when go to the mine. It will be 41 degree in the mine all year long.

Awesome train ride, nice history lesson as well. Very cool way to see the moutains. Engine 40 purred like a kitten and the whistle was amazing!

There was an issue of a reusable bag not ringing up properly but the employee handled it amazingly. She just rang something of similar value and said she'd fix the inventory later. Even with rude people around me she continued to be polite and gracious. She had told me that this was her retirement job which is pretty neat. There are beverages for $2 at this stop as well as some of the usual touristy trinkets.

What a wonderful historic train ride! The views were amazing; many photo ops. Other guests on the same trip with us were all friendly, making it an enjoyable time for everyone on the train. During the tourist season, I would be sure to buy my tickets online ahead of time, to make sure you can get the time & date you want.

Well worth the trip. This is one of my all time favorite spots I have visited. I am so glad I was able to make this memory with my family. Plus side panned for gold and got about $10.00 worth. What a great day all around.

Take the extended mine tour! We had a blast, and the guide was super knowledgable. The train is cool. Google maps took us to the stop on the train ride rather than the actual entrance. Turned out fine because we allowed extra time to get there.
