Its permanent exposition is really thought through, every room of the exposition is original and somehow interactive. It describes history of Jewish community (mostly in Poland). But be prepared, that the exposition is really long and it can be exhausting... and then frustrating not being able to get much from the rest of the exposition. So i will definitely visit it once more when I am again in Warsaw. The temporary exposition on my visit was also wonderful (really interesting polish painter). And... also be prepared that there is safety control in the entrance.

(Translated by Google) Once upon a time, in this place, in the 1960s and 1970s, there was a large square - a place for families to meet and walk, especially on Sundays, and the children flew beautiful kites so high that they could not be seen. Unfortunately, there is not much left of this square and it will not be possible to revive this tradition because this building was erected. But I will always remember the pictures of those years and tell about it to younger people ...

(Translated by Google) I recommend this place, it is worth going here and admiring the charms of this place. Really worth! At first I had a dilemma if it was worth it, but as soon as I went, I changed my mind about this place. The museum shows us a sad history. I recommend this museum as much as possible (Original) Polecam to miejsce, warto tutaj przejechać i podziwiać uroki tego miejsca. Naprawdę warto! This place is one of the best museums that I ever been to. So much information in a way that really got me emotional along the tour. It was the first time ever, that I found myself crying inside a museum. It doesn't matter if you're not Polish or Jewish, you have to see and know what happened in the past for a brighter future. We will always remember.

The installation was fantastic and so much feelings about us humans and how we continue with the same alienations from eachother when finding differences and something we do not understand about the other person. Why can we not see how much we share as living creatures? And I include all animals in that. The thing that followed me was the thought "would I be brave enough to stand up for the surpressed even when my life would be endangered?

The most complete museum I've ever visited. Won European museum of the year in 2016. Immense. Better to get there early - opens at 10am.

Highly recommended. The museum tells the story of Jews since its very beginning to the present. It’s free and it’s for everyone (kids, adults, etc). I also recommend the audio guide. To walk around the exhibition may take you an hour if you have no audio guide. If you do, from 2 to 3. Once again, very clear, clean, interesting, attractive, interactive and amazing in every possible way.

POLIN Museum in Warsaw is a captivating journey through the history of Polish Jews. The striking architecture, interactive exhibits, and sensitive exploration of history create a deeply moving experience. The recreated 19th-century Jewish street and the Tree of Remembrance are highlights. It's a must-visit for anyone interested in history and culture. Worth the money!

I was very disappointed. The museum is not so much a museum as a collection of audio visual displays. There were not many objects to see, only photos. There is so much wasted potential in this museum of the life of Jews in Poland and during the war. If you have a lot of extra time go there, otherwise go to Krakow and visit Auschwitz.

Museum focused on the Jewish life in Poland. Wonderfully organized. Everything in English as well and audio guide changing automatically based on your position. The museum tells the aspects of Jews in Poland not just for the sad situation in the WWII, but from the migration of the second millennium on.

This place is amazing. I first came here about 7 years ago: they’ve since completed a whole slew of renovations and additions. It’s really a detailed multimedia epic about the history of Jews in Poland, filled with unique and effective installations. I was very impressed my photos don’t do it justice).

One of the best designed museums I've ever been to. The amount of time, thought, money and energy put into it is astounding. I thought the audioguide wasn't really worth it for the first 20-30 stops but it helped keep the narrative going from about 30-60 where there was simply too much reading to take in. You may need to be selective on what you read and interact with. We were there from 1045 to 1530...nearly 5 hours. The story of the 20th century is something you are probably very familiar with but it was still told in a concise but emotional way. The story from 1000 to about 1850 was new and interesting to me. I've come away with a better understanding of Jewish history in Europe and especially I. Poland.

This is an incredible interactive informative museum about the history of Polish Jews. It gradually transports a visitor on a time machine through many interactive displays to gain a greater understanding of historical background and context. Genuinely worth visiting if your intention is to visit any of the camps. Also take time to read "Forgotten Voices of the Holocaust" for individual accounts.

A fine building (Finnish architect) and an impressive exhibition. In the audio tour, you get a very comprehensive package of information about the history of the Jews and how world history progressed for them. Of course, you will also find the museum's shop and a very good cafe where you can also have lunch.

Visited on a Sunday with no issue. There is security, but even with all my backpacking stuff they let me bring it in and put it in storage. I spent 5 hours here and about halfway through started skimming the reading material. Audio guide is very good. There is so much information! There was an excellent temporary exhibit as well.

Huge and excellent quality exhibition. You can't experience it all in one day. Special bonus for the beautifully painted real synagoga build inside the house. It had a special feeling of holiness in it. Also very nice, Finnish architecture, the building is very beautiful inside!

1000 years old Jews history, you can find this place and The POLIN Museum of the History of Polish Jews is the first and only museum dedicated to restoring the memory of the civilization created by Polish Jews in the course of a millennium and exhibition started in 2014. At the museum about honor them, and those who came before and after, by remembering how they lived. As a museum of life, POLIN Museum engages with the present and opens out to the future. As an educational and cultural institution, the museum is dedicated to stimulating dialogue in the spirit of mutual understanding and respect.

A great and interesting museum. It is very well structured and designed and the history is presented in a very neutral and unbiased way. Definitely worth a visit and a must see on a trip to Warsaw especially for people interested in history. Would definitely recommend it. To understand anything without an audio guide you have to speak either Polish or English

One of the most impressive museums explaining the Jewish history in Poland. I have been here several times already but it is difficult to absorb the enormous amount of information during one visit. My solution: I bought the museum's catalogue in English and can now visit part by part from my desk at my free time.

We went and came out 6and a half hours later. Memorised and moved by a great history beautifully told. You must visit the cafe/restaurant to see the synagogue roof construction. The food served is excellent value. You need it to keep the concentration going, there is just so much history to explore. Unforgettable.

Heavy topic but the experience of exhibits was very well thought out. Very interactive throughout with exhibits balancing storytelling and substantive information. I recommend opting in for the audioguide and plan on allocating 2 hours or more for the entire museum. Restaurant onsite has decent food options if you want to stay.

Very good museum situated inside a modern and trendy building. The building, artefacts and amenities are well maintained. The museum is about the story of Polish Jews and their horrendous massacre during the ww2. Some very good pictorial, video, writings and sound bits from those days that takes you back to the darkest chapter of our world history. Made me realise again how lucky is our generation not having to endure any of these atrocities. My deep respect for that generation and the allied forces heroes and great leaders.

Interesting and large exhibition. Tickets includes audio guide. It is particularly interesting if you don't know too much about history of Poland and Jews in Poland, as it does not start or even goes too much in-depth. Temporary exhibit was included in the regular ticket that we bought on the spot. The building has impressive architecture, worth seeing.

This museum vividly shows the various periods of Jewish history throughout the world, from a proud nation to a tragic fate. It would take at least three hours for a visit. I recommend renting an audio guide to listen their stories and gain a deeper understanding of Jewish culture and society. I learned so much.

The museum is big. Look for the uprising monument outside as the entrance is close by it. Not all of the guards at the entrance can speak English, so you should ask your questions specifically to avoid misunderstanding. Before the ticket counter and after the security check, you'll get the chance to leave your bags in deposits. You need a 2 zloty coin for it. There's a cloak deposit next to the ticket counter. The museum itself was super interesting and interactive. So you would want to spend a few hours here, at least 3-4 hours. They offer you a chance to borrow a portable stool you can sit on when you feel tired. It's comfortable to navigate the museum. They have all the facilities like lift, restaurant, toilets and souvenir shop. In front of the museum there's only bus stop but without a ticket machine. Alternatively you can walk to the big street, not too far. There you can take trams and buy tickets inside the tram (using credit cards).

More of the "classic" museum. Kind of boring. I wouldn't go there again. If you don't understand Hebrew it is probably better you go to the Warsaw Uprising Museum (which is extremely well curated)

Actually an amazing experience. It is, however, a huge museum (which is not surprising, taking into consideration the long and rich history of Jews in Poland), so one must be prepared to spend a couple of hour inside. It is worth it however - an interactive, immersive and educational experience.

  • 4/5 Patrick L. 4 years ago on Google
Not very well constructed especially for the audio tours where you have to look out for the exhibit numbers. The explanation given by the audio tour was rather brief and basic as well. The museum isn’t that specific on Jews in WW2 but more on the overall evolution of Jews’ life in Europe. Some very interesting things to learn and gain insights about but other is just too many artifacts to go through.

I recommend that you reserve about 2-3 hours for sightseeing, but if you want to learn something new, you will not regret it because this part of history is not known to most Poles. However, if you have a lot of knowledge on this subject, apart from watching the exhibits themselves (which of course I highly recommend), you will probably not learn too much. (Translated by Google) Of course, the grandeur and scale, which I have never seen in any other museum, are breathtaking. But this is Pozdemka, where tram tracks, and a copy of the temple, which no longer exists, and a stone road with a lane ... Even a market place! But this is tiring. It's a pity that the restaurant is closed a hundred times, in fact there were very few places to stay. A total of 64 exhibits, the last 10 were held at an accelerated pace. A normal ticket costs 32 PLN, with a Warsaw card it was 24 PLN. I also recommend taking a dictaphone, you can choose the language, its price is 12 PLN. I recommend! I am not so interested in Jewish history, but I don’t regret a bit.

The museum is at par with similar top-notch institutions worldwide. It is located in a marvellous building, nearby the Ghetto Heroes Monument. Visitors are offered with a unique journey through Jewish history - from the first comers to Poland to the most recent events of the XX century. Exhibition is designed chronologically and divided into 8 sections. It covers a selection of interesting information and facts regarding diversified aspects of the Jewish presence in these lands and their lives. I recommend to dedicate at least 4 hours for a visit (not only 2 hours as suggested in the brochure). On Thursdays the entrance is free of charge.

So so great. Amazing friendly staff. Intuitive audio guides and well worth the extra 12 zl. It's very well divided and it gives you a great deal of knowledge without becoming too much information. Absolutely worth the visit

This museum is great. The amount of information provided is almost overwhelming. The museum begins with the first arrival of Jews in Poland and follows their journey chronologically to the modern day. It is fascinating. Beware, though, the museum takes half a day (or more) to complete fully so budget enough time for it! It’s worth it.

It was very nice museum and beautiful architecture. But for foreigners with other religion it was very hard to read all the texts and names of medieval Polish Jewish history and remember them. I was lost immediately and a bit exhausted. However, the quality of presentation was awesome. Hand painted history was beautiful, I also appreciate many touch friendly and interactive features, as well as 3D model of museum. But, it would be nice to have tactile models at the entrance, it would help the visually handicapped people to orientate better.

The most detailed museum regarding the history of Jewish people in Europe that possibly exists. The restaurant serves delicious, traditional Jewish cuisine and is well needed, as each gallery takes far longer to explore than the guides suggest (I would even suggest splitting it up over morning/evening, as tickets are valid for the whole day). Just a note: it can be full of groups of schoolchildren, which isn't a problem until some of them behave highly inappropriately (such as giggling during the Holocaust section). That is not the museum's fault, of course.

We bought the tickets and the entrance with no waiting line on a Sunday. There are Audioguides available and worth it (many languages possible). It is interesting and interactive.

We spent an hour and a half here and only saw the core exhibition. It was excellent. Really well put together and very interesting. The history of the Jews in Europe was fascinating. Obviously, the more recent history is well-known and horrifying. The exhibits were moving and thought-provoking. I would recommend a visit here. I wish we had had more time.

The interior of the museum(created by a Scandinavian architect ) is impressive and reminds sand of the desert,a close theme for Jewish people. Maybe it's not interesting enough for young teenagers, but there s a spacious room for small kids. One more plus is a good café/restaurant.Definitely recommend to eat smth. Some Jewish dishes and prices are comparatively friendly as for Kraków.

This is a must-see attraction in Warsaw. The museum is excellent with lots of great exhibits and plenty of information to absorb. We walked the museum with the audio guide, which provided more than enough information without reading the text on the displays. The audio is location-based, so you can walk the museum at your own pace. We didn't stop (a couple of breaks for toilets/refreshments are available), and we toured the museum in approximately 90 minutes. Very informative and enjoyable, I highly recommend.

The entire museum is informative for anyone interested in the history of the Jewish people in Europe and specifically in Poland. I prefaced and followed my visit to the museum with a walking tour of Warsaw, highlighting areas destroyed during WW2. In the museum, I spent most of my time being emotionally moved by the temporary exhibit "Around us a Sea of Fire". My friend and host, who is a lifelong Polish resident, said she learned as much as I did because the museum did such a great job of mixing first-hand accounts with documented evidence. I also very much enjoyed my lunch in the museum Cafe. There were local favorites that were completely new to me. I strongly recommend a visit to the museum for anyone in Warsaw, whether visiting from abroad or a resident of Poland. History, well told, is worth taking time for.

Great exhibition with lots of information and a beautiful audio-guide. Here one can learn about the Jewish culture, history and tradition through over a thousand years, helping us understand that holocaust is just one part of the jewish history. The visual presentation is also fantastic. If you’re planning to visit a museum in Warsaw, this should be the one.
