Very interesting place. The staff is kind, and helpful. Good thing that you can visit the museum for free on Wednesday. It's a beautiful commemoration of Chopin. Elegant, informative, good location in the city centre. 10 minutes walk from the Old Town Market Square. 🎶

Admission free day on Wednesday, nice offer that we’ve gladly taken. Great museum with lots of original exhibits. History of Chopin is told meticulously. I especially like the interactive platforms which you can see in every room. Neat little souvenir shop. Definitely would recommend visiting if you’re a fan of classical music.

I wasn't fully aware of Chopin's life and career so this museum was perfect to get to know more about his life and what inspired his work. It is super interactive so you have a lot of music, videos, stories, touch screens, for sure you won't get bored there. The souvenir shop isn't expensive so you can also buy there exclusive souvenirs they have for you.

Excellent museum, the entry is very cheap and it’s very well organised, guiding you through all stages of the life of a Chopin, his artistic career but also his personal life. There plenty of documents and interactive stations and it’s well worth it spending at least 2 or 3 hours inside.

Fantastic museum dedicated to Frederick Chopin, located in an old mini castle. This castle was completed destroyed during World War Two and is now rebuilt in its old style. Great acoustics. And many interesting pieces on display. A Must see for music enthusiasts. Not for children even though they have a plsyroom

Really lovely museum. I was expecting a bit more of a progression past Chopin's early life and most productive years, as his health was quite poor towards the end of his life. A timeline of his life is provided in the basement, but it seemed like the museum missed this element entirely. Go to listen to Chopin's full collection of compositions! It's the best part of the museum.

(Translated by Google) Well, where can you go without going to the museum ?! Free admission to the Fryderyk Chopin Museum on Wednesdays! You can even take a free postcard as a keepsake. The souvenir shop is not expensive. The museum is very modern. In one hall there are booths in which you can listen to the composer's music, in the other hall there is a mini concert hall. You sit down and listen to a concert that is played on a big screen (different pianists play the music). There are also rooms with manuscripts of pieces of music, letters and other personal belongings.

The museum is only interesting for those, who are truly into Chopin's life history - not much to see, plenty to read and listen. At the entrance you get a plastic card, which activates interactive spots at the exposition. I was hoping to see more of his personal belongings, furniture, recreated living spaces, etc., not that only one living room fragment. However, just found a lot of sketches and notes. The music, of which you can listen to in many spots, is beautiful though.

The exhibitions are very interesting and detailed. I particularly enjoyed the room in which you can listen to all Chopin's works. It's just a pity that there isn't a playable piano for tourist around the entrance, that would've been just perfect. Quick tip: free entrance on Wednesdays.

I was pleasantly surprised when visiting this museum we were given a free concert from the young very talented prospect Yehuda Prokopowicz which was a real treat. The museum itself is a small but well collected pack of items from the life of the great composer.

Housed in an elegantly restored building, easy to reach by foot from the Metro station Nowy Świat-Uniwersytet. Fun interactive exhibits where one can listen to and read about most of Chopin's works, including his lesser known pieces. There were also a few displays of his original belongings, though not many. The museum loses a star from me as I feel it could improve on the flow and content of its exhibits (for example, I was missing a lot details about his family and early childhood). All exhibition rooms were air-conditioned except for one, presumably due to AC breakdown. Overall, worth a visit, and I left appreciating Chopin's work more even though I'm not a huge fan.

A very insightful museum. We also got the opportunity to watch a live piano concert (which was included in our ticket for free!) by Piotr Sołtysik who wonderfully played some of Chopins masterpieces. Hope to come by again in the future :)

An interesting visit, but I was expecting to see more of Chopin's personal objects. The exhibition is super digital - lots of computers with info about the composer's life. It's worth a visit in my opinion.

Great interactive museum where you can't only learn about Chopin's life but also listen to his music. There's also a kids room with different games that help them learn about Chopin in a child friendly way. In my eyes a must see when you're in Warsaw, especially with kids.

The museum is well organized, a room dedicated to Warsaw, to all the women in his life, to his music where you can listen to his compositions and understand the movements and virtuoso skills. Free on Wednesday’s. A room for the children to play.

I was going to put much lower mark as museum itself is small and for me lack of audioguide is very big disadvantage. I can imagine that if there are many people inside it will be impossible to access any of screens to read anything. But luckily today there was not many people. But this is not the reason for 5 stars. What impressed me the most is free of charge concert of classic music (Chopen mostly) which takes place on Tuesday in the building of the museum. And you can visit that even with your museum ticket. This was something which really changed my impression of that place. It was really nice to hear Chopin’s music life performed by young talent! 5 stars just because of that event!

Absolutely amazing museum with chronology of Chopin’s musical path, museum unites history and modern technology. There are just several but unique items that remained from Chopin times among which is his piano.I was lucky to attend concert in the basement of museum that was part of Chopin days , it was unforgettable!

Hello. It was an incredible experience. I spent about 2-3 hours in this museum. If you are a fan of Chopin, you should come because, in here, you can see the original scores, his personal objects, many old photographs and drawings, known paintings, one of his pianos, many other things and the whole story of his life chronologically ordered. As a fan of Chopin, I can say that it was a very beautiful museum and it was a pleasure to be there. I also visited the house where he was born, from Żelazowa Wola. That museum is smaller than the one from Warsaw but it has an enormous and wonderful garden. There I spent about 2 hours. I will come again here and at the museum from Żelazowa Wola. I want to come back when they'll hold the International Chopin Piano Competition. I want to hear how different people play the same masterpieces. See you again museum!

Well presented museum dedicated to Frederic Chopin and his life. There are lots of manuscripts and relics from the composer’s life that are displayed in the museum. You can learn a lot from here. I also really enjoyed the digital screens that display information with Polish and English versions. I would definitely recommend this museum.

Nice and interesting museum. I went to see a piano concert which was amazing, and was for only 1zl. The value for money is incredible. The building itself is really beautiful. You can sit and listen to Chopin music for hours downstairs. Unfortunately no souvenir shop. You can leave your coat downstairs which is very convenient

Great and very interesting museum about life and music of Fryderyk Chopin. At the beginning, you receive a mutlimedia card, which allows you to explore all the digital exhibitions. I spent there 2 hours, but I would recommend 3 hours for slowly enjoying the music at the special corner. Entrence fee is free on Wednesday.

Very good place to learn about Chopin. For me, I would have liked to experience a little bit more of his musical aspects rather than his love affairs and everything, but overall it was a satisfying museum. The only downside was that some auditory devices were broken.

  • 3/5 Gilda 5 years ago on Google
It was interesting to learn about Chopin's life strolling in the museum. This is a new museum in an old renewed palace with some nice features like music "boxes" where you can seat by yourself and listen to Chopin music. There's a few artifacts from Chopin's life, his piano, some music documents, some copies of paintings and letters and a kind of music learning space in the cellar. I am not a big fan but it's a different museum if you have some time.

Very nice museum with a comprehensive exhibition, covering multiple aspects of Chopin’s life as well as the contemporary Polish history. If you like his work you can easily spend here 3-4 hours even. I especially liked the basement where you can freely listen to Chopin’s work while learning about the genres he wrote his pieces in. Note though, that due to covid pandemic the access is limited there, so make sure to come with your own headset connecting to your smart phone.

The word of caution, make sure you have enough time to get a worth of your money, time and to give justice to all the hard work that has gone into building this museum. Also, sometimes they have live concert or practice sessions. So don't miss them. Probably worth checking in their timing before making a visit.

Excellent displays and well laid out. Even listening stations for any and all of his works (maybe not orchestral?)

What a beautiful place. Really fascinating. A must for the Chopin's fans; you can see, you can hear and you can feel his presence in this house. Frycek at home!

If you have intrest to Chopin, know about him or do nothing 😉, you can visit this museum. But if you just regular 🤷 🙄 man, just skip this point 👉 and go forward and don't look back.

Even if you aren't Chopin's fan and your knowledge about his art = 0, visit this museum. All conditions for visitors are perfect, they use technologies to explain and describe Chopin's life, you can use touch panels to read information or listening to his music using your headphones. There is also a room for kids. You can find there his personal belongings. Located in the center, so easy to get.

We were lost here for more than 3 hours. 4 floors for such pleasant entrance fee. Recommended for visiting. This building is pure aesthetics from the outside and inside, these walls heard Chopin’s first concert, and this is a place where you can find the most of information about the musician’s art and personality - from his first drafts, the piano, personal items to books and paintings dedicated to him. The staff is friendly, helpful and fluently speaking English. There are lots of interactive stations, and what is the most memorable for me is that every corner of this museum is filled with Chopin’a music.

The vast majority of the items presented were only copies, some of them had no explanation as to their connection to Chopin. There’s something disappointing about physically coming to a museum and seeing things that you can look at in a book or online in the privacy of your own home. From a museum I would expect an added value.

I'm not into Chopin, so no review for things concerning this exhibition. But the building itself, is a piece of art.

Very interesting museum with many great things to look at and learn from. The service was very friendly and the staff were very helpful. It was Chopin’s birthday week so they gave us some fun party hats as we entered, and a free CD. Highly recommend!

The museum is so well-organised and interesting. It provides lot of knowledge about Chopin’s career and life and some space to enjoy music. Surprising the ticket is unbelievably cheap. We only paid 2 zloty for 2 people and they even gave us 2 CD Chopin museum. Really got shock with the price and over-expected quality of this museum. Highly recommend

We have had terrible experience. We joined museum with baby buggy and had real trouble get in there and also move through the museum. On beginning we found and entrance for disabled people and easy accessible entrance. After ringing a bell and minutes of waiting, someone from stuff opened a door but we way inside was through room filled with boxes so I had to free the way on myself, lady from stuff was just looking at me as I was alone trying to make way for us. I am curious what a disable person would have to do. Moving through museum was possible with an elevator but on those levels where lot of rooms and parts with stairs in between. So alone due to our experience with terrible access for disabled people and children's buggys I would give only 1 star. But also whole concept of museum was not our first preference. Even we speak English,it was too chaotic and we have had problems find some kind of concept. We didn't learned a lot about Frédéric Chopin, even about his biography nor about pieces he has created. After we frustrated left the museum after 2 hours we have had to google most the information we was interested in. Simply lot of basic information missing. The style how the museum was trying to be modern just didn't hit our taste of art or how should museum be organised. And what we really missed would be much bigger offer of places where you can hear and enjoy his piece of art - music. Maybe it was due to covid, so one exposition where you could theoretically do that, was missing headphones. And on places where you can enjoy the music, quality of sound was just terrible.

I went there daily time and I like it but if you don't interested, I don't recommend you to go. Some of things you can't listen or play because of coronavirus. The price is expensive for this museum in my opinion. Inside has 4 floor, from his birthday to death. About Paris and Poland where he went. His hands and his accessories. I didn't have a lot ot time to see but it was nice 😍. I really wanted to see there but I didn't have too much time to enjoy a lot. If you wanna go there, you should have time at the least 1 or 2 hours .

If you don't know Chopin well, but you've heard Chopin's music once, you should try it! It was nice to have a new system where you can experience the life of a well-managed musician indirectly and play draft music digitally

I knew that at the end of April 2023 the restoration will end, so I came on the Museum Night with my sister 💫🌃 There were beautiful concerts in the Romantic Garden and the staff inside were very willing to talk about Chopin's valuable memorabilia 🎹 especially by his piano a woman told us passionately about his informal acquaintances, life decisions and friendships (thank you!). To the museum itself it is possible to come for 1.5h, but if somebody is very interested and would like to listen to different works, there is an interactive collection of all official works of Chopin on -1 🎶 - not to mention the fact that it is possible to learn a lot from interactive boards around the museum :) Highly recommended for everyone!

Digital museum, lots of information about music creations of Chopin, amazing concert hall and fantastic concert, for viewing everything carefully+concert at least 3 years will be required

The architecture is lovely and the interior is beautifully designed. There are places to listen to Chopin as well. If you don’t understand polish you might miss context and structure however while making your way through the museum.

If you are into classical piano music or just interested in Chopin's life and work then this place is for you. Everything is pretty neatly organised with a very cool modern dungeon where you get to listen to Chopin music and understand their significance and a more classy/ traditional looking historical part where they gathered all of Chopin's personal items and stuff belonging to his family. Seeing the whole museum should take about an hour.

As an amateur music player, I have learned a lot here. The interactive kiosks are great if you want to listen to all etudes, nocturnes, polonaise etc composed by Chopin and learn about the differences between these genres.

Absolutely lovely... definitely need more than one hour. NOT SUITABLE FOR CHILDREN. Visitors are trying to read and listen to music here, so please don't.

Informative description of F. Chopin starting with his family, his travel, and his works. Museum layout is a bit confusing, but the staff will gladly point the way. A good museum for classical music lovers alike

Very nice place, you can find handwriting documents by Chopin and some other items. I was expecting more in the shop (like Chopin small statues or one Chopin biography from his whole life). If you are a fan of Chopin it is a must. It is very easy and fast to visit (depending if you stay to listen to music and interact with it).

Venue is very nice and quiet, nice place to visit especially when it's cold and raining and you want to get inside for a bit. We stayed in there about 1hr30mins listening to music around the museum and in the little auditorium/concert hall. The museum would probably be better enjoyed by a Chopin or music enthusiast, I found it interesting however not my specific area of interest as such. There is a play room for kids however probably a place to ideally not bring young children as a lot of people there were listening to the music. Visited on a free ticket day
