A significant part of the exhibition shows the personal belongings of the victims, found during the exhumation works. Admission to the museum is free, I recommend renting an audio guide for PLN 10. The museum area itself is also a great example of modern architecture. The entire architectural layout is full of symbolic elements which, together with the exhibition, create a comprehensive picture of these tragic events.

(Translated by Google) Amazing place that must be visited. The unique atmosphere of the surroundings and the museum itself make an electrifying impression. This place encourages reflection and reflection on the events that took place in Katyn 80 years ago. You can get here by walking around the Citadel or by car to the gate itself, where there is a small, free parking lot. Admission to the museum is free. There is also a free toilet on site.

Professional, balanced exhibition. Great eyes-opening experience for foreigners. Must see museum in Warsaw. Professional guide. One BIG thing to correct - English language info needed everywhere, missing with respect to some key information foreigners might not understand. Maybe info in Russian and German would be necessary too.

Fascinating museum telling the story of Soviet atrocities committed against the Poles. Some quite sobering finds are on display that were taken from communal graves. Text is mostly in Polish, but some in English. One exhibit is Russian military weaponry fired into Ukraine in 2022 invasion.

Admission to the museum is free, but it lacks English translations and has poor signal reception, making it inconvenient to use online translation. Despite this, the museum successfully creates a chilling atmosphere that evokes a sense of fear during exploration of wartime history. It provides a clear documentation of the repulsive political maneuvers surrounding the Katyn Forest Massacre. If you want a complete guided tour, you can rent an audio guide for 15 Polish zlotys.

The museum itself contains a nice compilation of historical facts. However, it was an employee distributing the audio guides making this visit unbearable. He not only misguided me starting the audio guide right away skipping some initial parts, later on he also enforced me to attach sth to the device. Manners please...

Devastating in all the worst ways. This museum is phenomenal. The layout is thoughtfully considered, organized chronologically. At the end, you find yourself asking, "that's it? Where's the greater apology?" Free admission! Only part I have issue with was the lack of English translations of 90%+ signs/exhibits. This, however, was only an issue for one person in my group. If you cannot read Polish, consider an audio-guide - though I can't say anything about it as I didn't use one. Incredibly necessary in this day and age.

Memorial to the victims of the Katyn massacre, has a large collection of personal items found at the sites Text is only in Polish but there are audio guides available so make sure you pick one up if you aren’t comfortable in your Polish. Audio guide takes about 30-40 minutes and needs to be returned 15 mins before closing.

The museum’s artifacts are rather incommensurate given that Katyń was one of the most significant events in WWII history. The items also had no English translation - you have to buy the audiobook, and even that did not explain everything on display. There were also no explanations for many striking architectural qualities of the grounds. I was a bit disappointed.

(Translated by Google) A place that shows the Soviet crimes committed on Poles. The Katyn Museum is the first martyrdom, museum and research facility in the world documenting the Katyn massacre, committed on 22,000 prisoners and prisoners held in Soviet camps and prisons in 1939 - 1940. It also seems to be the only militaris exhibition - on a global scale - a kind of PROOF OF CRIME and commemorating the martyrdom of Polish army officers. (Original) Miejsce, które ukazuje zbrodnie sowieckie dokonane na Polakach. Muzeum Katyńskie to pierwsza w świecie placówka martyrologiczno – muzealno – badawcza dokumentująca zbrodnię katyńską, popełnioną na 22 tysiącach jeńców i więźniów przetrzymywanych w latach 1939 – 1940 w sowieckich obozach i więzieniach. Stanowi także, jak się wydaje, jedyną ekspozycję o charakterze militaris – w skali globalnej, będącą – swoistym DOWODEM ZBRODNI i upamiętniającą martyrologię oficerów rodzimej armii.

There are many everyday objects of the murdered found at the place of their burial. It is a must see if the memory of these people and the events of those times is to survive. As it is a martyrdom center of the Polish nation, admission is free. The museum offers a comprehensive and emotionally stirring experience for visitors, providing historical context through informative exhibits, artifacts, photographs, and multimedia presentations. The layout of the museum is thoughtfully designed to guide visitors through the sequence of events leading up to the massacre, the tragic aftermath, and the enduring legacy of remembrance. One of the museum's most compelling features is its dedication to preserving the memory of the victims as individuals, rather than mere statistics. Through personal stories, letters, and belongings, visitors gain a profound understanding of the human toll of this atrocity. Most of the information is in Polish only, it would be better to add English for foreigners.

An extremely important place. This place is a testimony. I have been there several times and each time I left moved and much more aware. One part of the permanent exhibition contains all information about the Katyn Massacre, the other - items that belonged to the victims. Poignant experience - the exhibition includes a beautiful display of thousands of personal items dug out of the mass graves in Katyn and the other places where the Russians killed some 21,000 Poles - military, political, scientist - the intelligentsia of Poland in 1940, by order of Stalin. Making 21,000 murders personal is impossible but each of the thousands of personal items is displayed and lit in its own little clay box, forcing you to consider what it is, where it came from, and what is says of its owner. Unfortunately, English translations are only sporadically present...
