A tiny museum located in an old boiler room. You can see that it is conducted with passion and heart. There may not be many exhibits, but each one has a story that we can listen to from the curator who shows us around.

It is a facility with many functions - it is both a museum of icons and the history of the Orthodox Church, as well as a unique chapel of the Orthodox rite, where the liturgy is held in Polish. The facade of the building may not show it, but it is a place of deep cultural and spiritual significance. The museum objects collected here are a true testimony to the history of Orthodoxy in Poland, and the people managing the museum also plan to include many interesting temporary exhibitions on the broadly understood topic of sacred art.

Felt quite strange there actually. Not much was really about the icons themselves, but what I cannot forget was a guy staying in the basement of the orthodox church and just whispering about his neopagan movement. I am totally ok about it, but just a few minutes before, we were told about Satan being close to the church :)

A tiny, very hidden museum. The main part of the museum is in the basement of the building. Apart from the icons (of which, unfortunately, there are not many), you can see there one of the oldest printing presses. Very nice people.

Finally, the day came when I managed to arrive during the opening hours of this unique museum. I was very surprised when I found out that the opening hours given on Google Maps were actually the ceremony hours, because it is an Orthodox Church built in a building that used to be an old boiler room. We were shown around by the gentleman who cleaned it before the service, which made the visit much more interesting. The temporary exhibition made a special impression on us. The church is certainly an interesting place to visit, but it is better to avoid the opening hours, arrive there during the day and call the number given at the entrance door - then someone will come to open the church for us and visit it. While waiting, you can admire the stained glass windows in the building, which look very nice and stand out from the rest of the building.

Fantastic place. A bit modest, probably a bit underrated, but the collections are really great, you can listen to interesting information and experience the atmosphere of icons and the East. Good place, I will definitely come back here.

A must-see when visiting Warsaw. A place full of street musicians, pubs, souvenirs and old tenement houses worth seeing.
