ORDON'S
REDUTE
was
commemorated
at
Na
Bateryjce
Street.
The
place
with
the
monument
itself
looks
interesting
and
aesthetic.
The
surroundings,
not
necessarily.
The
actual
location
of
Reduta
54
has
still
not
been
worthy
of
commemoration.
The
name
of
the
nearby
Reduta
shopping
center
and
the
Reduta
Ordona
railway
station,
as
well
as
the
boulder-monument
nearby,
are
the
result
of
many
years
of
incorrect
location,
caused
by
the
Russians
placing
there
an
obelisk
commemorating
the
victorious
assault
of
the
tsarist
troops
on
Warsaw.
This
error
was
perpetuated
by
the
erection
of
a
cross
and
a
monumental
stone
there
in
1937
by
the
Polish
authorities.
In
fact,
it
was
in
the
vicinity
of
Na
Batteryjce
Street
that
the
Ordona
Reduta
was
located.
The
correct
location
was
confirmed
during
archaeological
research
in
2010-2013.
It
was
determined
that
the
redoubt
stretched
for
approximately
200
m.
However,
its
orientation
and
exact
shape
could
not
be
determined.
The
boulder
with
the
date
September
6,
1831
is
part
of
the
first
commemoration,
which
was
carried
out
on
a
voluntary
basis
by
the
Reduta
Ordona
Association,
which
has
been
demanding
for
many
years
to
preserve
this
place
for
posterity.
