Great collection. The grounds are lovely too. I also enjoyed the special eclair in the cafe. It was made to celebrate the mythical beasts exhibition - which annoyingly for me started the day after my visit and would have been exactly what I’m into. Despite my timing a great gallery.

What a fantastic day at the Louvre-Lens! 3000m² with over 200 works of art...so beautiful! Don't miss the gift shop - although rather expensive, it is filled with gorgeous things. We would go again!

Loved this, a capsule collection almost - showcasing world history in an accessible way, with some English interpretation boards. Free entry for all and a lovely little gift shop. Outside there are further boards explaining the history of the site as a coal mine, with a view of the famous pyramids of coal waste. Inside there is also a model of the site as it was as an industrial coal mine.

I didn’t even know that there is another Louvre Museum in France.

Very good annex to the Louvre in Paris. The exhibition hall had a great display of the evolution of art from Egyptian times through to present day. Plus a Vermeer exhibition. Well laid out and extremely informative. The Fantastic animals exhibition would have been great to see if I had time to do it justice. Interesting modern low level building built on the site of a disused colliery. Well presented and spacious.

I thought this museum is a great idea to spread arts culture to a depressed city. I guess I was disappointed by its size, they should call it micro Louvre, ... 2 rooms compared to the 450,000 rooms in Louvre! I was hoping for a bit more...

We drove quite a long way to get here . There was less to see than I thought but a beautiful space . It’s an a weird area but I think that was part of the French decentralised plan ! There is one massive room you can go into for free showing ancient and classic treasures .

A small but very impressive collection from the Louvre located around an hour away from Calais. Impressive building design and architecture and contents spanning human development to the present day. Parking available close to the museum, recommend to allow 1-2 hours for a comprehensive visit.

Very nice and interesting museum. Not too big ,ideally if you have about 2-3 hours time. The permanent collection is free, the special temporary collection is 11 EUR but always worth it! Ability for a drink in the main hall, and a nice museum shop.

Has a great collection of history. Most of the pieces where described in French, but the whole place has a great positive vibe to it.

Beautiful museum with great historical art pieces! The Building is new and looks great and the tickets are pretty cheap too. My favourite exhibit is the galerie de temps, where you can see art pieces from all around the world and time ordered accordingly. It's great to see how different cultures influence each other! My only critique is that the museum shop is very expensive comparing it to other museum shops

This is a wonderful place to visit. I loved it! The very open plan design of the museum was so inviting and the special exhibition of Fantastic Animals with the masked attendants in the foyer was spectacular. I would have given the visit 6 stars out of 5 were it not for the dreadful parking facilities. We drove around the nearby residential streets for way too long (the offsite recommended parking lots were small and full). If you build it, they will come. If they come, you need to provide parking.

I had always wanted to visit the Louvre-Lens and I finally went on a Sunday. The bus lines were not running, so I had to walk from the train station. It is a very long walk, longer than what they advertise on the museum's website. The museum is in a beautiful building, and the visit is relatively short. They have relatively few, but very interesting works of art spanning several centuries. The gallery is one large open space, and I noticed kids get less bored with this configuration compared to a regular museum. The indoor picnic area is quite convenient, I strongly recommend bringing your own food. Oh, and it is free. Worth a visit!

Magnificent dependence of the great Louvre in Paris ! The splendid architecture makes the modern building disappear in the environment. We saw the Soleil Noir exhibition. Congratulations to the curator and the scenograf! It's really worth visiting and don't forget La galerie du temps with a nice though not too big changing collection of great pieces of artwork throughout a great number of centuries. 😍

Beautiful display of pieces with loads of room to move around. Nice collection overal. Staff is very helpful and friendly with a nice introduction on entry of all the expo's. Spend the entire day there watching all the expo's, since opening till closing time. Cafe and picknick area is nice with wide range of food. Parked in the road at entrance since the parking is more far away.

Free entry and lovely gardens to walk around and explore. Easy to park too. Enjoyed our trip.

Well presented indoor museum which is ticketed and a large park with art work, that is free to visit. There is a vast car park, so there no problem parking unless you have a camping car or other high vehicle as you have to have the height barrier swung. The intercom is at truck height and reaching it could be a problem.

Great space, welcoming, very kid friendly - a complete surprise! Really impressed and really enjoyed.

Parking is a bit inconvenient in this place. There is a disable car park at the museum. However, there is no other parking nearby. You can park outside the museum on the street. But I can imagine, during the peak season, they will all be occupied. Apart from parking, it is a nice museum. On the day I visited, there was no other special exhibition, so the entrance is free. The number of artifacts in this museum is less than Louvre in Paris. It will take you at least an hour to two to see them all. If you will drive past Lens or nearby, it is worth visiting this museum.

The museum has two options one it's free and the other not. But the price is around 10€ I found interesting place to go with family. It's Organized and there is a great shop where you can find lovely present.

A very interesting museum, the Galerie di Temps is amazing. Also check the temporary exhibition about Champollion if you are in the area in January or February 2023! Extraordinary artifacts from ancient Egypt!!

This is a great museum! Very modern architecture. Glass, aluminium and concrete are the main materials used. The museum has one main huge gallery with great artifacts from prehestoric period to 19th century , one gallery for the periodic exhibitions and an other called "behind the scenes' that the visitor can have a look at the storerooms of the museum. Very impressive Indeed! Must go if you are close to Lens!

Small museum in the village of Lens in the north of France. Displays a number of items from the main Louvre in Paris. For school students and local residents a wonderful way to get ideas about who we are, where we come from, why we are who we are.

Wonderful exhibition Champollion, well curated and really well explained. The modern architecture of the museum is stunning as well as the lovely park surrounding it. Lens is lucky to have this gorgeous museum

The exhibition hall and layout if a walk through time was stunning and interesting. Could had used another standing exhibit since it was a days journey to get there.
