The Getty is one of the prettiest museums I’ve ever been to! The entrance is FREE but you do have to register online due to covid. Parking is $20 per vehicle but entrance per person is free. It is definitely worth it and the views are amazing! Their gardens are beautiful and the museums architecture is amazing! There is also these green areas were people just go and sit there to read a book or picnic! I could have stayed here the whole day! I went on a Friday early afternoon and there wasn’t a lot of people. So it was nice to enjoy it!

The Getty is an art museum where you get to see various paintings and sculptures. It is a great place to visit with family. Below are some tips: * While it's free to get in, you need to make reservations. This allows them to control the amount of people going in. * The place does not get very crowded so it is easy to get same day reservations, however keep checking their website as early morning slots go fast. * Parking is located away and you have to pay $20 to park. They provide free tram to get to Getty. * Getty is known for their garden so good to start there and then go inside the buildings to cool off and view the paintings and sculptures. * They have a big dining area in the middle and small Cafe to get food. * Located at an elevation, Getty can get hot while walking outside. Keep extra water. * You can get good view of the city from higher floors. * Building has very good architecture. Overall great place to go with family, especially if you enjoy garden, paintings, and sculptures.

The architecture of this building is gorgeous and the gardens are stunning. There are coffee shops here or you could do a little picnic on the garden. The entrance to the museum is free but you will have to reserve tickets online. Parking for the day is $15. There are busses that will take you from the entrance after security checks to the exhibition halls or you could also take a nice slow walk up the slope. The museum has lovely collection. You can spend the whole day here wondering through the collections and reading through his biography, grab a nice sandwich and coffee and just enjoy the garden.

Extraordinary place, phenomenal architecture, wonderful garden, wide views and beautiful collections in an amazing design. This place has a great vibe, you can spend hours studying everything they have here. Here you will also find a bistro and a cafe, many interesting corners where you will lose track of time. This place belongs to all art lovers. However, the journey here is also exceptional, thanks to the Getty Center Tram you can get here quickly and easily from your car. The museum is free of charge, you pay for parking only.

Great museum with lot of amazing paintings from internationally renowned artists. The drive up the hill with the small „train“ is great fun, entry is free but good luck getting there without a car (parking available for a considerable fee). Narrow parking spaces underground. It’s a great place to just walk around and let your mind wander, beautiful views over LA as well.

Everything about The Getty has an amazing open and expansive feel. The architecture alone will blow you away, and I must say, the blend of art and architecture as you enter the facility is sublime. It has a definite west coast feel for me. The sheer size and vastness of the spaces are very artfully revealed only slowly, as there is only one route of entry. I don’t want to spoil it though, so eyes up when you enter! The Garden is a living work of art. My feelings for just how cool that space is would fill far more than a Google review! Plan for at least two days visit if you’re deeply into art. The collection is huge. 4 very large exhibition buildings. Follow the guideline for free tickets. You need to make a reservation for parking, as it’s a limited space parking area. You park in a garage and ride a train to the top of the hill and the entrance to the facility. It seemed handicap friendly everywhere. The spaces are all very roomy and open. It was quite busy but I never felt crowded.

This museum is truly an incredible place to visit. Honestly some of the exhibits were closed for maintenance or something but the architecture and views are really what is worth your time. Wandering around the gardens is fantastic and the tram to the museum from parking is really lovely. Definitely worth it. But also reserve your entry time. Tickets are free but you need to reserve entry time and have proof of vaccination.

This place is simply amazing! There is plenty of parking but it does get very busy. The architecture and artwork is beautiful. The view is great. I would recommend you go to this place two hours before sunset so you get to see this place with light and nighttime. On your way back to the parking lot. I would walk down instead. The stroll is actually nice. Without a doubt you have to check this place when you are in the Los Angeles area!

Fun little tram ride up to the entrance of the Museum. It was very interesting seeing all the historical art inside, and the staff were very friendly. The outdoor areas were beautiful and had fantastic views into Los Angeles. All of this for the fantastic price of $0. Would highly recommend, even for those who just want to go for the views.

FREE for admission, only need to pay parking fee $20. It’s nice to spend a half day here and if the weather is good, can go around the garden with friends and family. Even they don’t charge admission fee but make sure you have reserved spots in advanced online! I also want to shout out to the Getty that they provided umbrellas for those who don’t like sun exposure too much.

Great place to spend day as a single, couple, with family or friends. Art exhibitions, beautiful views, culture and nature intertwining. You can always notice something new. Some exhibitions are changing. You can also drink good coffee, eat something tasty.in the restaurant or just lay on a grass and relax. The museum is free of charge, You pay only for parking ($20). Better come 15 minutes before the hour of reservation. It's worth staying longer and watching sunset.

It's a great place to visit in LA. So many exhibitions to see and enjoy. Great paintings from famous painters. Make sure you allocate at least 4 hours+. Tram is fun too. They have a great restaurant as well.

Amazing place in too many ways to list... excellent use of space, unbelievable setting and views... from the perfect gardens to the unbelievable collection of artwork this is an LA must do. Buy or rather reserve your tickets for the date and time you want to go... little to no wait getting into the tram area... trams leave every few minutes and take you straight to the top of the hill and the entrance to the museum itself... you just gotta pay for parking.

A large beautiful museum, definitely worth visiting. It's necessary to reserve a free ticket in advance. At the entrance, you'll be greeted by a shuttle train, beautiful and clean. After that, you'll enter a museum spread across a vast territory. The museum has free guides, and umbrellas are strategically placed everywhere, a cool solution, as you often step out onto the terrace, where you have an unbelievably beautiful view of Los Angeles. This museum is one of my top places, which I visit frequently, and I find it to be an effective way to relax. There are many places where you can enjoy delicious food.

After watching many YouTube videos on what to do in LA and reading many top 10 lists of where to go in LA...I knew I absolutely had to visit The Getty. The only thing disappointing about it was that I didn't have more time to spend. Such an incredible place to experience. The art here is amazing. The sculptures, paintings, furnishings, tapestries, photographs, gardens....and the history..it all just had me in awe. And the views of LA are spectacular! I also really appreciated the umbrellas that were available for use. The extra sun protection was much needed. I did visit the cafe for lunch as well. The food was very good. Every employee I encountered was polite and professional. I hope to have the opportunity to visit here again someday.

Surpassed my expectations in every way. It is technically free to enter, but it cost $20 to park. Right after you drop your car you take the free tram up the mountain side and are welcomed by spectacular views and architecture. You enter the museum to incredibly curated exhibits from every time period. Of course the Monet and Van Gogh are there, but everything was beautiful. After you finish looking at the art, be sure to stop at the Cafe for a bottle of wine to enjoy one of the best spots for a sunset in Los Angeles.

The Getty Museum is an absolute gem, and is an experience that combines stunning views, serene surroundings, captivating art, and remarkable architecture. During my visit, I discovered a multitude of reasons to fall in love with this place. Sitting on top of a mountain offers gorgeous views and scenery that simply take your breath away. Finding a place to relax and unwind is never a challenge. With beautiful maintained lawns, gardens, water features and inviting benches scattered throughout the grounds, visitors can find tranquility. It's the perfect spot to sit back, soak up the sun, and revel in the beauty that surrounds you. One cannot help but be captivated by the art and architecture within the Getty Museum. The exhibits showcase an impressive collection spanning various eras and genres. From classical sculptures and Renaissance paintings to contemporary installations, each piece tells a unique story, inviting visitors to delve into the world of artistic expression. Exploring the museum's exhibits is a joy, as you have the freedom to stroll at your own pace. The convenience of the tram system for entering and exiting the museum is a thoughtful touch. Moreover, the fact that the Getty Museum offers free admission is commendable, as it provides access to art and culture for everyone. However, it's worth noting that parking does cost but the experience and the amenities provided make it a reasonable investment. I 1000% recommend visiting this place, I’ll be back for sure.

The only expense is a parking fee. Please make reservations in advance. The ride on the train takes visitors up to the Getty is very comfortable. The view is awesome. Once I stepped on the ground hundreds of feet above the ground, the open view was breathtaking and calling. The exhibitions cover wide varieties. It's a time well-spent with family while enjoying the precious art collection. Highly recommended!!

Beautiful museum with gorgeous views of the city. A must-see for tourists and Angelenos alike. Currently they are still doing timed-ticketed entry— so, you’ll need to get free tickets online ahead of your visit. The current cafeteria setup for lunch is very underwhelming— if you don’t spend the big bucks on sit down restaurant, I definitely recommend packing a lunch. The garden is in bloom now for spring, and definitely worth a walk through.

One of my favourite things to do in L.A.! Every aspect of The Getty is just fantastic. It's $20 per vehicle at the parking lot and that includes the tram ride up to the center (which is a scenic ride itself). Plenty of great exhibits but the highlights for me are the stunning architecture and wonderful gardens. Every single detail of each garden area is so well thought out and carefully planned. Feels so peaceful, even when it's busy. Great views over the hills and suburbs. Even the gardens at the bottom tram station are lovely. Multiple restrooms available and there's a café too. The last trams down get busy, so if you're not so good with walking, get to the tram station with plenty of time before the last one.

Must See in Los Angeles It is one of a kind, amazing museums containing beautiful art exhibits from different parts of the world, and the buildings have a really nice design which makes them an art piece on their own. The mesmerizing garden is truly overwhelming, and when you hear the story about how it was designed you will be even more amazed, so make sure to catch the tour. The Getty sits on a high hill, and it has a breathtaking view over Los Angeles. You can enjoy all of that for free and reasonable parking fees. It is an experience unlike any other, truly a hidden gem, very highly recommend it, don’t miss it and make sure you have enough time to see all of the museums, wander around in the garden and enjoy the view.

Great experience. There are some interesting art pieces and paintings to see. The views of LA are amazing. Very interesting architecture. Make sure you reserve your visit time online before you go. Also take sun glasses if you go on the sunny day. It’s very bright outside and reflections from the white buildings is very strong.

If you want to do something cool and are in Los Angeles I highly recommend going to the Getty. Tickets are free and you can pretty much spend all day exploring the beautiful art, all you have to do is pay for parking. This was my first time here and I was highly impressed. The Getty has various building to explore, a gift shop and various eateries on site. If you want you can bring your own food and drink. Both my girlfriend and I enjoyed our visit to the Getty, and plan to return down the line. Price: Free just make reservations but you will have to pay for parking. Customer Service: Everyone here was kind and helpful. Restrooms: Clean and the Getty has plenty of them. Tip: Be patient, some guests can be rude, fortunately for us we didn't have to deal with many of them. By rude I mean walking in front of pictures that you may be taking or just been pushy.

Awesome cultural experience overall. Great mix of art and culture in four pavilions of two floors, including paths to incredible outdoor scenes and vistas to Los Angeles County and the Pacific Ocean. Beautiful outdoor gardens showcasing a variety of fauna. A beautiful day under the sun and inside galleries. I don't know what's more inspiring, the artwork or the views!

We went to this place because of a recommendation from a friend. It was absolutely worthwhile to spend the afternoon there. After 3 pm the parking fee was just 15 bucks. (Throughout the day its 20 I think) Then you take a ride in a tram where you already have a perfect view over some parts of LA and the famous 405 highway. You arrive in the middle of some arty building's and parks. Even if you are not so much interested in world famous art you get rewarded with beautiful views over the city and nature parks where you can enjoy the sun and your life. After a few hours the center got closed so it was very busy at the tram. Everyone wanted to go down. We decided to walk back to the car. There is a nice paved road where you can walk. It took maybe 15 min to get back to the car. Except to the parking fee, there is no entrance fee. Very generous.

(Translated by Google) The super rich Mr. Getty’s house, thank him for his generosity for giving us the opportunity to temporarily get rid of "poverty limits our imagination". The huge Getty House in the hinterland has not been visited for a long time, and every room is basically super amazing. The hierarchical collection, statues and paintings of the Renaissance period, and many art collections that can and cannot be recited, have opened their eyes. After reading it, I just feel how many butlers are needed to manage this place!

One of the most beautiful buildings I’ve ever been to. The architecture is amazing and all the surrounding gardens are breathtaking. The view from the outdoor areas was spectacular. You can see all the way to downtown LA and to the ocean. They had a lot of great art to see as well as ancient artifacts from around the world.

Really enjoyed visiting the Getty! It’s a free museum (however, there is a charge for parking). Once parked there’s a shuttle to take guests up to the entrance. On a beautiful day walking around the grounds is quite lovely. The exhibits were well curated and I enjoyed the variety too. I went on a weekday in the late afternoon and it wasn’t crowded, nor did I need a ticket in advance.

It's an excellent museum located on the top of a hill. It has excellent exhibits, free tours, and free admission. Friendly staff. The panoramic view of the LA area from the different terraces is unique. Strongly recommend staying until sunset. Also, to take a walk on the garden. The museum is extremely educational for all ages. It has plenty of walking space.

Visited the Getty 10am Saturday morning. Get your free tickets in advance online. Parking garage was $25. Then jump on the tram to take you up the hill to the museum. It's an enormous place, spread out over many acres of multi level buildings, pathways, sculpture gardens. Many artists are represented, Rembrandt, van Gogh, Manet, the biggest names go on and on. Beautiful works in porcelain, silver and about every artistic media you can think of. Very impressive place. Try asking the docents a question, some are truly into the work and quite informative. Well worth a visit.

Lovely place to relax and walk around. The only down fall is the modern art, but hey we can't all have the same taste. The lay out is slightly confusing so make sure to grab a map or pay close attention to signs. We got turned around a few times.

My girlfriend and I consider ourselves incredibly lucky to live in Southern California, as there are so many amazing hiking trails, breathtaking vistas, and utterly stimulating places to visit that many don't have the luxury of being in their "back yard". The LA Zoo, the LA Arboretum and Botanic Garden, the Griffith Observatory, the Mt. Wilson Observatory/CHARA Array, and of course the fantastic Getty Museum! We always have a fun an fascinating time here and could literally spend days combing over all the paintings, sculptures and photographs that this museum has to offer. Not only is the collection of art top tier, but the venue and location itself yields many amazing moments. I highly recommend that you take a day to explore the Getty Museum. It's an unforgettable experience through the long human history of art!

Decided to check out The Getty on a whim almost since we were in the area and heard good things about it from the family. This place is a hidden gem and highly worth checking out since as of writing this, admission is free with a reservation through their website. Seems like there's plenty of availability so all you are on the hook for is $20 for parking. After going through security and the covid checkpoint there is a funicular like tram that takes you up to the complex. That was a scenic short ride and you're on top. The complex itself is an architectural art piece that you feel like you are exploring as you walk around. Wonderful stonework, breathtaking views of the city and ocean, and a really cool garden area that I wish we had more time to just sit and enjoy. The plants, flowers, and all the vegetation arranged around the meandering water feature that ended in a pool, were a pleasure to walk around. We visited a few of the galleries with Renaissance period art, sculptures, and furniture pieces. The place is like a miniature Louvre without the immense crowds. The cafe area looked inviting too but we were short on time, would definitely visit again.

The Getty is an amazing place to visit! It has beautiful architecture, and the loveliest garden. The tram ride was so cool and had beautiful views. Both tickets and tram ride are completely free. (at the time that I'm writing this) Security also checks your bags if you have any after you check in. Also they make you walk through a metal detector, at least I think. Beware of traffic in the afternoon though. Took me almost an hour to get there because of the major traffic on the 405 freeway. All the staff were super nice, and when I called to ask if being late than our tickets said to come, they were super friendly and accommodating. At the time I'm writing this review, you do need to reserve tickets ahead of time. Most ticket times are available in the morning if you want same-day tickets. Parking was easy, prices for parking when I'm writing this is $20, and $15 after 3PM. On the parking ticket, it did say if you came back and paid within an hour of getting your parking ticket, parking is free. I don't know if this is true since I paid mere minutes after it went over an hour. Anyways, lovely place and I highly recommend you visit.

I thoroughly enjoyed my visit to this museum. I highly recommend bringing your own picnic, as they have some fantastic spots to enjoy your meal. The art collection was captivating, although I did notice that some visitors got a bit too close to the paintings and were about to touch them. Thankfully, the staff did an excellent job of reminding guests to respect the artwork and not touch it. It's worth noting that the museum can get quite warm, so make sure to bring some water to stay comfortable during your visit.

This place is fantastic. Very intriguing art is displayed portraying many historic events, as well as the occasional statue of a naked person (security guard laughed when I took a picture of one of these statues). The building itself is beautiful, and the tram ride up to the building from the parkade is also a fun experience. I love the checkered floor that is shown in one of my pictures. If you’re in LA and appreciate visual things then I’d say this place is a must visit.

The environment is beautiful with some large playground or picnic area for children and adults . I even saw some children come in for excursion. If you're a picture freak like me, I'm sorry but no camera is allowed inside the building. But you can snap outside. The gate fee is 200 naira which I think is super fair. I didn't get to enter inside though cos I was late for an event but I will surely go another time. From what I saw , it's a good place for art lovers and adventurous people.

Don’t miss out! This place is Amazing! $20 for parking. Free entry into museum. You park, then take a tram to the top. Everyone working there is so very nice and welcoming!!! The place is gorgeous! Not everything was open when I went, a good reason to go back! The gated is small, but has so much packed in. I’ll add photos of both the center and the garden. Be sure and make a free reservation online! Limited due to pandemic. Masks worn at all times. Don’t go if you don’t want to follow the rules. There is a lot of security. The security people were also very nice, but they have hard jobs. Lots of people were breaking the rules and getting called out. I appreciated the safe environment. The place is pristine and it takes a great team to keep it that way.

Words can’t even describe the feeling this place will give you, i am absolutely speechless and amazing by how beautiful it is here. When you first walk in you will be greeted by employees, (you are supposed to have a reservation) however we didn’t and neither did the people in front of us if they are having a slow day and have cancellations you should be able to enter but if not you can’t. So please make sure you call ahead of time to either make a reservation or to see if they are busy. We had the choice of walking up a hill which takes about 20 minutes, or you can take the tram 🚊 free of charge. We took the tram and got and amazing video of the view it will take you 5 minutes to get all the way to the top. Once you step of you are told where you should start to walk through. This place is huge so wear good shoes. the paintings and sculptures where absolutely stunning you are able to take pictures as long as you don’t use flash. They have a beautiful garden you are able to walk through and they even have benches if you get tired walking down! They have pomegranate trees (my favorite) and lots of other plants. Parking is free as long as you only stay for and hour after that it’s $20, considering you don’t have to pay for looking at any of the art or going to the gardens it is a pretty fair deal in my opinion. If you have never been here please come to experience it! You’re expectations will not be let down 🥰

The museum is really pretty! They got some good exhibition, but what is more breathtaking is the view of LA, their garden, and the glow of the California sun on the building. Would highly recommend to walk around and explore all the different corners as each turn gives you some pleasant surprise! Remember to book the ticket in advance, even though the entrance is all free!

I had no reservation but I got there kind of early by 11am. I was still able to get in without making a big line. The train is about 5 mins uphill and didnt have to pay. I paid for parking $20. Its a great experience full of culture. On the West wind section 204 they have couple of Monet Pictures and the Irises from Van Gogh. Defintely worth the trip. They have a pretty simple cafeteria with plenty of sitting outside. There is also a big garden to take pictures, sit and relax and for the little ones to play.

Getty is a gem in Los Angeles and one of the most beautiful museums to visit. There are various wide-ranging intriguing masterpieces and presentations of artworks that fascinate every art enthusiast. Aside from a museum, it’s also a campus and art school. The admission is free. But we had to reserve a timed entry to make sure we could get in.

Our family really enjoyed the Tram ride. Food is limited here (sandwiches, salads, chips). 2 hrs is enough time to spend it here.

Wonderful place to spend the afternoon! Great food options that aren’t too pricey and lots to see and take in throughout the grounds. Beautiful gardens and buildings, and wonderful tours to learn about the architects of the area. Free to enter but parking is paid. Shuttle or tram up to the building from the parking lot is free. It was very busy due to veteran’s day when we visited but it didn’t feel busy up at the building itself.

Great art installation with immaculate grounds. The outdoor garden isn’t very big, but combined with the sweeping views it is awesome! Plenty of places to sit with shade to enjoy a nice day. The cafe outside near the entrance had a wonderful breakfast burrito plus many breakfast options if you decide to head over earlier than opening.

Oh what a place! I wish we had more time here, the lookout from the open space over the ocean is a calming presence. The ride up and down is pretty interesting too and you can hike up or down too. The lines for the tram can be long so be prepared for that. I would highly recommend doing this over sunset which adds to the charm

Located just before onikan roundabout. This museum is one of the oldest Federal museum in Nigeria. I think efforts should be made to encourage more visitors to the museum as there are little or no activities within the premises.

L-O-V-E this place! Beautiful views of LA as well as the gorgeous architecture of the museum itself. There is also,of course, amazing artwork and exhibits. We went around sunset on a Saturday and was pleasantly surprised that it is open later on Saturdays. And if you go later, there are discounts on parking, which is the only fee to pay. It is a fun spot to wander and enjoy art, meet up with friends/family, or cozy up to a hot date.

Getty Center is a truly fantastic place! Everything here is created in an artistic style, every turn, every angle, any point in this place is ideal for a photographer or artist. Exhibitions that are brought here from other world famous museums and permanent exhibitions are worth millions! But no, they are priceless! These are World masterpieces, works of art, the legacy of Human Civilization, all the best is collected here! It can impress and inspire anyone on the planet who can see!

Probably the best of the botanical gardens in LA area. Plants and trees were well maintained, everything pretty green even in dead of summer. Kids love the mini railroad ride, it goes for a few minutes, which is pretty cool. Lots of shaded paths. Nice place for an afternoon outing.

The Getty is a life experience every time I come here. Perched on a hilltop overlooking the city this beautiful edifice to art and culture shines as a platinum white treasure of LA. Her bosom brimming full with beautiful garden pathways accented with stylized water attractions and inspiring architecture make for an exciting outdoor experience. As for what you'll find inside the hallowed halls of this institution is of great substance. Divine examples of human expression manifest in artistic brilliance. This is somewhere that is very special I would recommend heartily to anyone. I would suggest having plenty of time to see the exhibits but even if you're only here for a short while I'm sure the majesty of this place will resonate with you.

So much to do and so much to see! It is hands down the BEST art museum in LA and it’s free! (Reservations required and you pay for parking!) Overall, you spend the entire day here! There’s art, coffee, food, and the view. But you’ll most likely spend hours just looking at the art. There is a massive collection at the Getty. In addition, there is a garden that is worth visiting! Feel free to bring your picnic blankets and soak in the sun! There are plenty of spots at the Getty for you to enjoy the view and the sun! I highly recommend this place! If you are choosing between the Getty Center and the Getty Villa, I recommend the Center! The Villa is great too, but the center is way more memorable! ☺️

Great museum with breathtaking views towards downtown and the coast. On good days you can even see Catalina island. There are a lot of different art objects from paintings to statues to furniture :) the ride with the tram is great, too. $20 for parking .. I was there on a Thursday morning and there was no line at all.

Always an enjoyable experience visiting The Getty! They still require a reservation or timed-ticket entries at the time of this writing, but it was no hassle, just present it and you'll proceed through the line. I liked the Still life paintings, a lot of detail goes into it, reminds me of my art classes I took when I was younger except they were charcoal black/white drawings, dealing with colors is a whole another level. The outdoor panoramic views of Los Angeles and the Pacific Ocean to the west were spectacular. Went during the evening and watching the sunset was nice and gave the museum building a nice golden hue. Thanks for a great time!

So much fun for the whole family! We've lived here for almost 5 yrs and have never been. We went onto their website and followed all of the directions for an easy and stress free experience. We reserved a time online, we had to pay for parking but the entrance was free. This fee is actually good for the same day visit to the other location that they have. The kids loved the train ride up to the museum where we were greeted and welcomed. The workers were helpful and told us about the free strollers they offer. The exhibits are well put together and the property is well maintained.

Amazing and huge museum. Can’t believe it’s free and even if it’s not- totally worth visiting. Parking fee is 20$ till 3pm and later it’s 15$. It was bit crowded when we visited, it took lot of time for parking so I’d recommend to plan visit accordingly. It has a great collection of European art, well maintained gardens, galleries and many more. Beautiful architecture. Very well designed and maintained. It’s built on a hill, from parking you can walk all the way to museum main entrance or they also have trains. It also has amazing views of LA from top. We had reserved it in advance however they were admitting people without reservations. Must visit place when in LA.

Beautiful architecture, art, and landscaping. You can spend at least 3-4 hours here not only exploring the each building and their exhibits, but to stop and appreciate the buildings themselves. In terms of the exhibits though, the Photo gallery is amazing. They have Tim Walker on display and rarely am I into photography, but he is so creative. Each segment is explained by what he is inspired by and then the subsequent photos reflect that inspiration. Absolutely creative and beautifully artistic pieces ensue. Highly recommended for even that exhibit alone.

The Getty was my favorite place we visited while in LA. The grounds, architecture, art, gardens—everything is beautiful. We visited on a Sunday and there was plenty of parking although you do need to reserve tickets in advance. We waited a few minutes for the train to go up but not terribly long. The ride up is beautiful. I recommend planning on being there most of the day if you can and bringing your own lunch or be prepared to pay for some expensive sandwiches and water.

The Getty Center was fabulous. We spent a couple hours here and were only able to explore the West and South buildings, which were both filled with great art. I found the architecture of the center as impressive as the art it housed. The center also offers an impressive view of the surrounding area. I plan to visit again. It's the type of place that should be taken in at a leisurely pace, and shouldn't be rushed. Be sure to make a reservation prior to your visit. Parking was $20. Enjoy.

I love visiting the Getty. They have wonderful self-guided tour options thanks to a free comprehensive app. I really appreciated the "mood journeys"to guide me through a particular theme, complete with activities to keep me focused and grounded in the art. You could really spend the whole day here. The gardens are beautiful with the sound of the water flowing to the central pool. The lawns are open, so picnicking options abound. But if you want a special experience, choose the restaurant. They have a nice wine selection, excellent olive and thyme bread and pats of the best butter. The scallops small plate is to die for. If you still have energy, opt for taking the 3/4 mile hike down the hill to the parking garage. But be careful walking alone, as this area is known for mountain lions. But if you're lucky and quiet, you might spot some deer or rabbits on your way!

National Museum is the perfect exposition of the history of Nigeria and its diverse cultural heritage. The museum was constructed in 1957. It showcases the works of art dating back to the era before Nigeria got independence. The museum narrates the story of the journey of Nigeria through the years. The Nigerian National Museum displays historical monuments and contemporary arts such as Nok Terracottas, brasses from Benin City, etc. One of the significant historical monuments you will find at the museum is the bullet-riddled car in which Nigeria’s former Head of State, Late General Murtala Mohammed was assassinated in 1976. The Nigeria National Museum is located at Awolowo Road, opposite Muson Centre, Onikan, Lagos Island

They have a little bit of everything, so you can get some very interesting gifts that will delight the recipient. The Getty is a world renowned architectural art museum masterpiece. Being a 'younger' gallery, some of the best classic pieces are housed elsewhere; however, the knowledgeable and enthusiastic docents will guide you to unique, worthwhile pieces, or you may explore on your own with helpful headphone audio descriptions. The sunset views are breathtaking as The Getty sits high up on the hill, accessible to visitors by a 'Disney-like' tram from the parking area. There's no entrance fee to the museum; however, parking is $15, or $10 after 3pm, payable by credit card only. Extended museum hours are available on Saturdays (until 9pmPCT). The cafeteria has plenty of heathy food options with average prices for a meal ranging from $12-$25. You may also visit the neighboring "Getty Villa", and parking includes both sites. A worthwhile sojourn!

If admiring diverse art collections is a favourite hobby of yours, look no further than The Getty Center, is a beautiful building comprising 1.2 million square feet of galleries and exhibits. Medieval works and paintings by famed painters (such as Monet and Van Gogh), 19th and 20th-century photographs and sculptures are on display, and a cafe and gift shop are on site. Outside, in the well-manicured grounds perched atop the Santa Monica Mountains, you’ll enjoy access to beautiful gardens with stunning views of Los Angeles.

The Getty is always a good time. There are so many pretty and interesting things to look at. The museum is free, parking is not. Tram ride up the hill is fun. The view from the balcony is always nice, even on smoggy or cloudy days. It's nice to take the guided tours (either with headphones or a museum docent), but it's also great to wander around aimlessly (my preferred method). There's so much to see inside and then even more to see out in the gardens. Lunch can be pretty expensive but super romantic when you throw in a mini bottle of champagne while you sit surrounded by all the lush greenery. Very relaxing.

When we decided to visit the Getty Museum, we did not know what to expect. At the end of our tour, we were awestruck. We took the architecture tour that helped us understand how this place was built, what Richard Myer, the architect thought while building the place, the challenges he faced, and the family history of the Getty's. The museum is built with some unique construction, like each tile and the stone is exactly 30"x30". The angles when the tiles join on the floor are 22 degrees. And how the construction took into account the earthquake. They also have Garden tour which we could not take due to time constraints. Each tour is about 50 minutes and starts on the hour. The artwork in the museum is nice. They don't have high-end paintings since Mr. Getty put limit on the spending. But the paintings are well preserved and they are quite impressive. As the guide mentioned, you will not get overwhelmed by the museum, unlike the museums you see in Europe. I highly recommend the tours when you visit. Please allow 3 hours for your visit. Museum hours are 10 am to 5pm. You must book the tours ahead of time online. The entry is free, but you pay for the parking, $20. A must visit attraction in LA.

What a wonderful, luxurious and precious museum in LA! Not mentioning it's totally free, it's definitely worth to visit even if it's not free. The whole Museum is on the hill and well designed and constructed. Not only it has great collections(of various kinds of arts from old time to contemporary), but also it also has great views of LA and amazing gardens. It's so relax and enjoyable here. You can easily spent hours and hours here. Please noted that: no public free parking on site or nearby, you have to park inside the garage, then you can either taking the train or bus to the museum main building, or if you want, you can also walk all the way to there. Each of the way offers a unique experience. Be aware that it requires a reservation in advance now otherwise you might not be admitted to go in. Highly recommended and had fun.

Love the Getty center art museum, I join the patron program and came to my first patron sunset reception. It was a wonderful night I have enjoyed there, piano concert first follow with exquisite dinner and drinks. Everyone had enjoyed the night so much. Please join the patron program to help others to get access to the art collection plus public programs and more. Your contribution to Getty will help out community of friends who believe in the Getty and its mission.

Absolutely beautiful place to visit, amazing architecture, grassy areas to relax or have a picnic in the sun. The tram ride up is beautiful as well. They always have different museum exhibits going on. I happened to go on a day they had a special exhibit showcasing the Black community and culture. I really loved it! And the best part is it's always free to come. If you are visiting LA this should definitely be on your list of places to visit!

Not only is this fantastic and art-rich museum free, it is also one of the best places to visit in Los Angeles! Many different types of art including sculptures and paintings by some of the best painters in the whole world! Had a fantastic time here, and totally worth a visit if you are in LA. Attached pictures are the views from the museum itself.

What an amazing place to visit. We spent the whole day there, seeing exhibits, walking in the gardens, and still didn't touch half of it all!! You can recharge throughout the day at the numerous cafes, and relax in the peaceful surroundings.. Free entry, but you have to/ should make reservations.

This museum is beautiful. A tram takes you from the parking area to the actual museum. Multiple buildings form the museum complex. Grab a map or you may get lost. The views from the terraces are spectacular. Also, it is free; you just have to make a reservation online. I used the downloaded audio guide to help navigate my way around. This is my second visit.

This is an amazing place to be able to visit for free. You can see some famous paintings by some of the greatest artists in history. We spent 3-4 hours here and did not see everything and rushed through some parts. It was a vacation week and it was very crowded. The views are beautiful as well. Definitely take the tram up unless you have strong legs and want to hike. The walk down isn't bad, though.

Amazing! The day was already so beautiful and this was the icing on the cake. Didn’t have enough time to check out everything, so I will be back asap! When you get there, a cute little train takes you up to the museum from the parking area. Something about the train made it feel more like a… museum adventure. The William Blake exhibit is a must see - The Graphic Design in the Middle Ages exhibit was inspiring. Grabbed a coffee, rice krispy, and coffee cake from a kiosk - I won’t be doing that again - all items were 2/10 and ended up unfinished. Hopefully, next time, the restaurant/cafe is better than the kiosk. The landscaping is lovely and there is a ton of room on the lawn to take a break - enjoy the views of LA and soak up the sun. I can’t wait to go back. So much to see!!

This is probably my favourite museum/space ever. NOT EXAGGERATING. everything feels amazing, looks amazing, I feel like I enter some strange but wonderful art-world when I go up the tram… highly recommend. The William Blake was awesome and I’ll hold that exhibit deep in my heart forever… Thank you rich people!

This venue has so much potential to be more. I can see some effort was put into it but it still needs a lot of work. In 2020, we are still not allowed to take pictures? I mean pictures bring other guests. They are not going to deter them, if anything it just becomes a location to hangout

A great museum. We got a wonderful guide that told us all about it. You can find the car (with bullet holes in it) of the old president that was killed. Also there is an exhibition on the circle of life. The entrance is 500 Naira (we have our guide 1000 as a tip)

It's a lovely place to visit with a lot of artefacts and memories from history which signifies Nigerian roots and culture and heritage. The museum is however very dusty, it's not a nice place to visit if you are allergic to dust . The place needs more maintenance and the tour guards all need to be on ground. I had no tour guard to direct me when I visited.

My second favorite museum in LA, besides the Ca. Science Center next door. A little scary for small children, but they’ll love the hands-on kid’s exhibit upstairs.

A need to see within the place. the whole lot about this museum and complicated is nicely thought out and strikingly beautiful. Get there early, due to the fact you may without problems spend a whole day right here. lots of locations to devour, and it is well worth a ride for the structure by myself! so many noteworthy pieces of art here. You won't be dissatisfied.

(Translated by Google) Mr. Gaidi, who is rich enough to flow, let me see that the manor is large enough to open a collection hall for everyone to visit. The rooms in a bunch of rooms can't be visited at all. From this high ground, you can see a little scenery of Los Angeles. The free ticket is really worth it, but the only thing you need is the parking fee for 30 dollars per car. After getting off the bus, you have to take the exclusive shuttle train to the manor before you can start to visit. Various garden bridges, water, and so on. , It’s suitable for taking pictures everywhere, and it’s also quite suitable for sitting here to feel the artistic atmosphere and have a cup of afternoon tea~ (Original)

Art, not everyone, including myself know about it, this is the place where art manifest itself from the time you arrived Choosing being at the top of a mountain from where you can see land and sea it's an experience in itself On top of it it's FREE!! We angelinos should be grateful to host one of the most incredible museums in the world Even during this pandemic the place it's so inviting that for a few hours you can forget about the Nad and get immersed in culture with high hopes for a brighter future If you have not visited, do reward yourself and make an appointment Yourself will forever be thankful

I visited Los Angeles earlier in November 2021 for a five-day getaway. On my first day of excursions, I visited The Getty, which was on my bucket list, as I am a huge art and architecture fan. Since I did not have a rental car, I took an Uber, which conveniently dropped me off at the main check-in area, which is a tram ride or 20-minute uphill hike away from the actual museum property. Los Angeles has rolled out new COVID-19 restrictions and we needed to show our vaccination cards to enter. Masks were mandatory except for in outdoor spaces. Admission is free, but it is a timed entry so get your tickets in advance using their website (Google "Getty Center" for tickets). We then boarded the tram after stepping through a metal detector. About three minutes later, your tram pulls you onto the premises. Currently, the West Wing is under construction, but my friend and I enjoyed seeing both the permanent collection in the other wings as well as the special exhibit on Hans Holbein the Younger, who was the royal portraitist of the court of English King Henry XIII. After perusing the galleries for a few hours, we toured the grounds and the sculpture garden. Many people were relaxing on the beautiful green lawn or enjoying a quiet moment in the gardens, which include a spectacular water feature (my pictures are included in this review). I went on a Thursday afternoon and there were no lines, and the premises was not crowded. I am not sure for how much longer that will be until things get back to normal. However, if you have a half a day or less to spend and happen to be in the area of the Getty Center, it is definitely worth a visit.

Wow! Just wow. So a couple of things first 1 it's free -> tourists looking to take a break from the parks this is your place 2 -> amazing exhibitions that'll marvel you 3 -> great for photo sessions to impress your friends 4 -> the gardens are astonishing Fantastic view We spent about 4 how and didn't finish covering all it has to offer. So if you're in a tight schedule think about which exhibitions are with your time. Be prepared with nice walking shoes because you'll be doing a lot of that. Bring your own water containers you can refill inside. You won't regret visiting the Getty center

The place is worth to visit at least once in your life. The painting and sculptures are so beautiful and mesmerizing. I am very glad that I planned to visit there. I feel so relaxed and it feels like I am a part of that. It is in the list of my favorite places now. Would definitely go there in my next vacations. Getty is really a hidden gem. I just went there one time and now I am recommending it to everyone. 😌🕊

Amazing architecture and museum. Fun tram ride up to the museum. Can spend all day here looking at the multiple buildings and doors of exhibits. Incredible views of LA!!! Can park at both locations between here and the villa for the price of one if you ask the info desk at the first location you go to.

Loved this place. I would recommend bringing a little picnic and you can enjoy yourself with a book or company. The sunset was also really nice here. I came here for the architecture, the views, and the outside environment. It’s free to get in you just need a reservation and parking is $20. Once you check in and they make sure you’re vaccinated you take a tram up to the Getty.

  • 5/5 Beatriz L. 2 years ago on Google
Absolutely gorgeous!! The museum’s architecture itself was already so amazing, and including the views of the city below was just breathtaking. The gardens were my personal favorite, as well as the French paintings. Would definitely come back to explore more! The tram ride up also added to the uniqueness of the experience. It tends to be busy towards the end of the day, but the walk down to parking was also quite nice.

It takes about 2 full days to fully soak in every part and exhibit reading all of the narrations and enjoy the grounds. Truly a national treasure. I was only there for 3.5 hours I can't wait to return

There are few places in the world that have collections as impressive, matching up to the mix of ancient and modern. Tours of the Getty Center's architecture and gardens are available, as well as a Collection Highlights tour and tours of art in specific eras. Tour times and days vary depending on tour type. Upon arrival, you will board a tram that ascends the hill to the museum grounds. Best of all, entry to the museum is free (but will need to pay for parking if driving).

What a beautiful place to see art for free. The only con is it’s hard to get to if you’re a tourist. Take an Uber if you don’t know the area as the parking is hard to find. The tram up to the Getty was very peaceful. I enjoyed the galleries and the cafe. However, none of the cafe items are priced and I must say, they are very expensive at the till. If you go, make sure you go onto the second floor and rooftops of the galleries. The rooftops have incredible views.

Very rude about back packs. They make you wear them in front. There are no signs or info about this anywhere on the website or in the building. They instead decided that nagging you is the best way to get this info across. If I had known this policy about back packs I wouldn’t have brought mine. If they want to have this policy that’s fine but they should tell people up front before you come and not be so rude about it. Never been to such an unfriendly museum.

Getty's collection, and his forethought of making it available to share with others, was a laudable effort. Art from every genre that he encountered was purchased and displayed. The collection includes furniture as well as entire rooms. It would be to your benefit to allow as much time as you can to this museum.

This is a fabulous museum with so much to see in multiple, beautiful buildings and grounds! Besides the art of all types to enjoy, you have a panoramic view of LA from one of the multilevel viewing decks. It's truly a world-class museum and not just because of the Rodin statue and Van Gogh painting we enjoyed!

An enchanting experience to visit one of Richard Meier's masterpieces, located close to Bel Air in LA. Make sure to reserve a time slot - the admission is free but parking cost $20. We spent most of our time outside in the beautiful garden and had the chance to have a passionate guide - thank you Steve - showing us around in this absolutely awesome piece of (gardening) art. Take enough time as this garden is offering also an exquisite view over LA. On the top my list when talking about LA.

Beautiful place to visit lots of unique plants. They supply sun protection. Umbrellas available in and outside. I would hrab one if you didn't bring your own. It gets toasty The museum was very interesting and a great way to cool down after touring the outdoor garden.

Nice museum that has lovely grounds that are beautifully landscaped. Great views. There are photo exhibitions and paintings by Monet, Cezanne, Dutch and French artist from the 1800’s. Sculptures and more. Parking was $20 and entry fee is free . A must see if visiting LA.

Beautiful museum. We spent 2 hours and were able to see East and South Pavillions. It's an all-day activity if you really want to see everything. Very clean. Free museum but reservations needed. We didn't know. On this particular Thursday we were there, they were accepting walk ins. Call or make reservations to be on the safe side.

Wonderful excursion for the weekday. Lived in California for. While and had never visited. I'm not hugely into the arts but really enjoyed getting to visit. I wasn't aware that we'd be taking a tram to the museum itself. That was fun to start with! The site itself is gorgeous. Very well maintained. The garden was my favorite part of it overall. So relaxing to sit in the shade and enjoy nature.

Architecture Master piece designed by Richard Meier around 90s. Must see and full of Art pieces. Takes you at least a day. Get a soup or coffee at the Cafe at North-East close to the beautifully designed Landscape. Don’t take much with you and there will be security check before entering. As far as I know you just reservation online which is free but you should pay for parking.

Amazing place to spend time with your kids! I do admit that a 4 year old boy doesn’t really go with viewing art. But the Getty offers wide open park, where you can run around, let them explore in the safe environment. The admission is free but parking is $20. Do make sure to pack your own drinks and light meals like sandwiches because food there is quite expensive. Coming back definitely!!!

  • 5/5 Mac M. 6 months ago on Google
Wow! Definitely worth the visit. Park in the main garage and just follow the crowd for the free tram to transfer you the Getty museum. The tram ride is frequently so no worries. Once at the Getty first enjoy the incredible views. Than visit the expositions. Worth a day’s visit.

  • 5/5 Edit G. 6 months ago on Google
Weekdays are not too crowded. Also, you can walk up instead of taking the tram. The walk is short and pretty, it only takes about 15 minutes. The grounds are beautiful and I still find areas after 20 years of visiting that I haven't seen before. :)

Beautiful architectural building full of culture and art - all in a city for free. Be prepared to spent hours here lots of walking and stairs but worth every minute enjoying all the art. Several buildings to go through and a gorgeous garden. Note it gets hot bring a hat if you can. Otherwise there are limited umbrellas to use. Cafeteria is nice food a bit pricey but still great. Probably only slight issue it might not be kid friendly. Definitely go to this place if you love art and architecture and be prepared to spend a full day enjoying the sights.

  • 5/5 Jade 6 months ago on Google
I have come at least 7 times since it’s close to my job. It’s so nice to see all the art but don’t expect to be able to finish it all within 4 hours. I think it would take a whole day to complete but that sounds awesome to me because all the art is so beautiful. Especially the French area. Love the gift shop and found my new favorite tea there. Anytime friends want to know something to do, I always recommend going here. Took my husband for his first time there as well. Great date, adventure, or just study and chill location. They have a cafe that has foods like sandwiches and chips as well as some sweet treats. They also serve beer/wine if that’s your thing. There are also 2 other restaurants on the premises but when I went it was a very limited menu so I didn’t end up trying anything. According to the servers the portions are about the size of a baby bowl but for the price of a feast yet also mediocre quality. So I personally don’t recommend but if you really want the Beverly Hills experience and to feel fancy, I’d recommend other places than this restaurant. However it doesn’t change my opinion on the museum itself. I never bought or reserved a ticket and never had issues going in. They always say that next time I will need to reserve but I’ve gone so often without doing that so go at your own risk if you don’t want to reserve a ticket.

Visited Getty with my wife and young son of 3 months with a stroller. The views are fantastic and the architecture is lovely to stroll around and enjoy on your visit. The art work house at the Getty is great too.. We visited the cafe for a short snack and they had basic options salad, sandwiches etc.. I would probably recommend bringing some snacks as you could spend hours up there and food options although good quality were limited. But the photos were well worth it! I was surprised that entrance for me and the whole Family was free excluding the $20 for parking.

  • 5/5 Zulema G. 4 months ago on Google
So much to see both in the gardens and the inside exhibits. You can easily make a day of it. Lots of elevators and bathrooms. There is a cafe and restaurant on site. If you want to go to the restaurant make sure you make a reservation because they do limit walk-ins. Free museum admission that you should reserve ahead of time, but parking was $20.

A stunning treasure perched atop a Hill overlooking Santa Monica and Los Angeles. With gorgeous gardens that wind through a labynth, deliberately designed to steer your gaze and slow your pace. Art featured from classical antiquities to modern photography with world class exhibits like Medieval Illuminated manuscripts... Filled with the spirit of our need to create as humans, and to experience the creation of others. Oh, and it's free, just pay $20 for parking and make reservations ahead of time

One for adults or children over the age of 12yrs. Amazing views of Santa Monica and L.A in the distance. Beautiful buildings and gardens. cool and fancy art. Great iconic tram ride and its Free. you only need to pay for parking and make sure you BOOK AHEAD, as there's no on the gate tickets. Freeway traffic can be well typically californian so give yourself plenty of time to arrive and park within your allocated time slot. Epic location.

  • 5/5 Pooridon R. 3 months ago on Google New
Free ticket. Should book ticket 2-3 days in advance if you plan to visit on weekend. Plenty of parking space but it’ll cost you $20 for the whole day. It gets really traffic inside during weekend evening, so try to leave a bit early than others would be great. The arts were super varied. Check the map in advance to find your area pf interest and spend time there. The garden is beautiful, hot, and scenic spot, so don’t forget to spare some time for that

Well worth a visit to the museum. The collection is rich, the architectural decoration is also excellent, and the linger to watch in it is very enjoyable. I haven't finished watching in five hours. I'm tired. I should visit again next time. The parking fee is $20.

I liked the architecture and the location, gives nice view. But there is pretty impressive collection. What I liked the most is that there are different styles of rooms as week and you feel like you visit few galleries in one place. And many things you never find in other places. I am impressed
