Impromptu day trip to Lausanne from Geneva and we visited the Olympic Museum, which is timely. It was informative and had excellent displays of past Olympic events, athletes, medals, etc. There were lots of interactive activities & we especially enjoyed the exercises to test our balance and coordination. The outside was well maintained garden with architectural art and track.

Didn't expect much from this museum as we went there to avoid the rain. At the end I had a really good time and wish I took more time to visit. The place is beautiful and not crowded even for a sunday. You learn a lot from history until modern times. There is an interactive section where you can play some games such a biathlon, testing your reflexes and it was so fun to do!

Just a perfect place for Olympic history and current affairs. So much to learn how Olympics started and who was the pioneer. Loved the stories about athletes, trophy, games, gears, clothing and medals. Costing around 20 francs and it took us around 2 hours to explore. Must see when in Lausanne.

The Olympic Museum is a really nice couple of hours of walking. You do get to visually see how some of these world records look in real life. They are just incredible and it shocks you. The grounds are really nice and there are statues you can't climb on so children may need to be kept a close eye on. I found it really interesting and fascinating and I'm sure you will too.

An iconic museum filled with memorabilia and exhibits of the beautiful Olympic Games. There is a lot of history to be seen and many interactive displays and exhibits that make it fun for everyone to get engaged and interact. Great for all ages, and the only warning is that the gift shop is just silly expensive. The museum was beautiful though and well worth a visit while in Lausanne - the home city of the games!

One of the only museums I've not been bored with for a while. Super engaging, well laid out and it has a fun interactive section and the end where you can try out different sports on simulators

Nice place to visit if you like Olympics. 4/5 because tickets are quite expensive. You can still see one free exhibition which is okay. The place is clean and staff is so professional.

Lovely museum . A must visit for Sport lovers. Modern. Vibrant. With a modern approach to the Olympic Sport History. I visited several times, and I would do it again ! It has a cloak room. A gifts shop and the staff is friendly. I highly recommend to visit.

Amazing place! The museum is truly an unforgettable experience for all sports enthusiasts. There are three floors along which to discover the history of the Olympics, memorabilia of Olympic champions and skill tests. If you are in the area, you cannot miss a visit to this museum, as well as a fantastic brunch at the restaurant with the terrace overlooking the lake.

Worth the entrance. Interactive and thoughtful displays on the history of the Olympics and a lot of regional source material. Very impressed by the flow and activities. The only questionable gap was the Paralympic Games and the lack of discussion around this area.

Lots of details about the Olympic movement and some memorabilia from past years. Felt like there could have been a lot more done with inspirational footage over the years. Worth a visit if you've done everything else and the weather isn't great.

Expensive (20 CHF) but above expectations. Tons of cool historical artifacts and stories related to the Olympics. The temporary sports manga exposition was really well made too.

We visited the exterior gardens of the Olympic Museum after which we enjoyed a sunny day on the terrace of their TOM Cafe. It was a beautiful day. To enter the museum you need to show your COVID certificate and ID.

The Olympic Museum is a lovely oasis of sculpture gardens and stunning lake views in the heart of Lausanne. And the exhibits (and gift shop!) are so well laid out and informative that a second trip through wouldn't be out of the question. It's definitely a workout whether you take the stairs or the ramps, so plan accordingly and wear comfortable shoes.

It is an interesting museum, it caused me a lot of emotion to be where there are articles by worldly successful people but especially the area where they exhibit articles belonging to people with disabilities, because I realize that this is not important to succeed in life, "everything it's possible" ...

Although the museum is modest, they certainly made the most of it from the parks' exhibits and sculpture to the multiple antiques. We went there during weekdays, so it wasn’t packed & enjoyed our visit there!! You can get student discount if you’re a student here too!!

No words can truly express my happiness when I got here. As an Olympic fan, coming close to everything I have always watched on TV was jaw dropping. I was new to the city but traveling from Zurich to Lausanne to see this was completely worth it and the location was easily accessible by bus. Pure love 🙏🏾

The Olympic Museum is a must visit if you're in Lausanne. They also have some fun interactive games near the end. It is in the lower ground floor. We found this a little later around the closing time but tried a few games which was fun. The views of the Lake Geneva from the cafe and from the garden outside the museum is just out of the world.

One of the must places to visit in Lausanne especially if you are an olympic fan. They have informative guided tours and some interactive fun games as well. The museum has one of the best views of the lake and directly looks at it. They often organize different events and activities as well. You can see many famous olympic figures and monuments here. A very pleasant experience overall

I loved this museum!!! The temporary Paris 2024 Marathon was extraordinary as it detailed the history of marathons and was overall very inspiring. The free audio guides explained the permanent exhibit about the history of the Olympics very well. Walking through the gardens outside and seeing the statues was wonderful too. Lausanne is a beautiful city. I would recommend everyone to come here.

It's a huge venue on multiple floors - so much to see and listen to - Learn about all things Olympics. Wonderful historical information about the Olympic movement and its revival. Some athletes have donated sports wear and equipment they wore at their triumphant events- the huge red trainers of a basketball player. This is the Yellow Vest Usain Bolt wore in 2012 when he won the 100 and 200 metres Sprint! Get close up to seeing the medals at each Event and more. There is a timeline showing each Olympic and the country in which it was held ( Paris and Los Angeles next) including the Winter Olympics. I could feel my excitement as I watched some video recordings replaying some events of the past. I would highly recommend a visit. You might need two visits to get round to seeing it all. I visited in the winter on a cold very rainy day so this may have led to not having to queue and entering the venue so easily. Spring / Summer may attract more visitors. Would revisit again!

I recently had the pleasure of visiting the Olympic Museum in Lausanne, and I must say, it was a truly remarkable experience. As a sports enthusiast and a lover of history, this museum offered the perfect combination of both. From the moment I stepped foot inside the museum, I was greeted by a sense of excitement and anticipation. The layout of the exhibits was well-thought-out, guiding visitors through a chronological journey of the Olympics, starting from its ancient roots to the modern-day Games. It was like taking a step back in time and witnessing the evolution of one of the world's most prestigious sporting events. The museum did an excellent job of showcasing the rich history and traditions of the Olympics. The exhibits were not only informative but also visually captivating. The interactive displays allowed me to immerse myself in the stories behind each Olympic Games, from the triumphs to the challenges faced by athletes throughout the years. It was truly inspiring to see how the Olympics have evolved into the global event we know today. One of the highlights of my visit was the extensive collection of memorabilia and souvenirs from past Olympic Games. The museum had an impressive array of artifacts, including medals, torches, and even equipment used by famous athletes. It was fascinating to see these pieces of history up close and personal. I couldn't resist leaving without purchasing a few souvenirs myself, which I will cherish as a reminder of my visit. The staff at the Olympic Museum were friendly and knowledgeable, always ready to answer any questions I had. Their passion for the Olympics was evident, enhancing my overall experience. Additionally, the museum had excellent facilities, including a café and a gift shop, making it a convenient and enjoyable visit. Overall, my experience at the Olympic Museum in Lausanne was nothing short of extraordinary. It was a fantastic journey through the history of the Olympics, filled with fascinating exhibits and a collection of souvenirs that captured the essence of this global event. Whether you are a sports enthusiast or simply curious about the Olympics, I highly recommend visiting this museum. It promises an unforgettable experience that will leave you with a greater appreciation for the world of sports and the incredible athletes who have made history in the Games.

20 minutes walk south of Lausanne train station near the lake. Spent most of the day there. Lots of history on all aspects of each Olympics. Very modern. Nice garden area. Restaurant available. No toilets when in the exhibition areas so need to exit to use them.

Wonderful park in front of the museum. You can climb the stairs or ride in a stroller or chair along the gently rising sidewalk. In the evening the stairs and the street are very beautifully illuminated. I definitely recommend visiting during the day and in the evening!

If you come to Lausanne and are a sport fan, you have to visit the Olympic museum. From the antic games to the last event, you will be able to understand more the history of the modern games. And you can find some piece of history, like the Barcelona basket ball final ball sign by the dream team, Fosbury's shoes, all the olympic torch... Enjoy a glass or a brunch at the cafe with an amazing view on the Leman.

After 20 years I have been back at the Olympic Museum in Lausanne. It was a great moment to see the spot again. It is very very well maintenant. This time I had kids and my wife with me. The venue is very clean and impressive. If you come to Lausanne it is a must-see location. You have two options to select from, either the short tour free of charge or the 3 floors visit but with a ticket.

Educational and fun interactive museum. Everything is in both French and English. Audio guide is 5 euro, we didn’t get it and we got enough information from all the plaques, writing and videos. My favourite part of the museum was the interactive games section. There’s a skiing and shooting game alone with some memory and skill based ones. Not much on the famous athletes though.

Interesting interactive exhibition e.g. possibility to test yourself with Usain Bolt's 100m World Record 100m run and many, many more. While being in Lausanne - definitely must see!

If you are a fan of the Olympics this is a must see. I loved it. What a beautiful location. There is a section on the history of the games. Then so many uniforms and equipment used by the athletes throughout the years. I really liked the exhibit where you could scroll through each Olympics and see photos or video clips about the time and the games. Some of the interactive things were closed (due to covid), but I definitely enjoyed my visit. They give you discount coupons for the store and cafe as well.

(Translated by Google) Museum of different permanent exhibitions related to the world of sports, especially the Olympic Games. It is surrounded by a forest and a park near the lake, where we can see works of art related to sports. In the environment there are also different contributions from cities that have organized games. Barcelona has deposited an original square meter of sidewalk of what was the Olympic town. It was inaugurated on June 23, 1993 by the Catalan Joan Antoni Samaranch, president of the International Olympic Committee at the time.

(Translated by Google) Well worth a visit if you're in Lausanne or the region. Shows the full history of the Olympics and the IOC. The tour is only in FR or EN and if you want DE (or another language), you must ask for an audio guide when purchasing the ticket (subject to a charge). In my opinion, the exhibition is too little self-critical and the important topics of doping, corruption and sustainability are nowhere mentioned or only a little marginally. In the past, the IOC has not exactly covered itself with glory in these current issues.

Very cool experience learning about the history of the Olympic games! Lots of interactive activities for everyone. It was amazing to see all of the relay torches and every medal from every modern games. A very fun way to spend 2-3 hours with your family here. The museum is right by the lake and the Olympic park. When the weather is good you can pack a picnic and really have a nice half day here.

To experience the Olympics at close quarters and feel the Olympic spirit the way the athletes felt it, to study the history of the Games from antiquity to today - this is a place you should never miss if you're in Laussane, Suisse. There are huge screens which showcases the beautiful moments of the game and you'll feel as you're a part of it. The museum is open from Tuesday to Sunday and is closed on Mondays. Entry fee of 20 CHF for adults from 16 yrs old.

If you didn't get a chance to visit the Olympic, you can still get a museum experience of it here. We were disappointed that we couldn't go see the 2020 Tokyo Olympics, but were very glad that we see the Japanese sports manga x Tokyo Olympic 2020 exhibit here. Although it's without the grandeur, it feels like were transported to Japan when we were going through this exhibit. The rest of the museum houses the permanent exhibits from previous Olympics. Well worth the time for the visit. Highly recommended.

Great museum, spacious lawns, plenty of open space and spectacular view of the lake. The restaurant is excellent as well. We had asparagus soup, and the kids had a cornet of fries on the terrace. There is plenty of gorgeous items to buy at the shop. The museum covers everything from history to modern-day Olympic with interactive sections. We had to park in a nearby street as at least we could not find the parking.

Amazing place full filled of curiosities, important events and collection objects. Really fun for kids and not only, since there’s a race track where you can run the 100m and compare yourself to Usain Bolt. Really enjoyed this place, definitely going to come back

An amazing history of the Olympic Games, the people that started it all, the amazing athletes, and the technology used to propel those athletes. One of the last exhibits, the medals, is second only to the actual equipment and clothing the athletes used and wore. I’m partial to US athletes and I was in awe of the shoe Jessie Owens wore. His achievements at the 1936 Olympic Games are historic and significant.

Great museum that exhibits the difficult start of the games, highlights the countries and athletes involved, and how it's shaping its future. It was quite a revelation for us to learn how the games got started because we now treat it as a given now. But it really took the hard work of one Pierre de Coubertin to really drive the Olympic movement. Of course, you'll find all sorts of items, footage, and activities related to Olympics here. Overall, great museum, must visit.

It is one of the most brilliant place in the world. There is knowledge and historical moments captured. The eating place Tom Cafe has best cuisine in Lausanne. The souvenir shop is beautiful and the staff is so courteous and kind that you would wonder how considerate and gracious humans can be. It is always a pleasure to be here.

Such a well designed museum. We had a guided tour which allowed us to plunge into the history of the Olympics and discover some fun and not so well known facts about brands and athletes. The atmosphere in the museum was quite ethereal to me. There are a couple of fun activities for kids and the view from the restaurant is simply jow droppingly beautiful ❤️

The Olympic Museum was an amazing collection of Olympic memorabilia and information over the years. I especially loved the timeline that walked you through events every year and where they were hosted. I enjoyed seeing all of the medals provided over the years and the torch collection was great as well. Overall, highly recommend.

Fabulous museum for fans of the Olympics games and non fans alike. History of the founding of the games, Olympic Torches from the games, medals and the kit worn by famous Olympians are all on display. The interactive stations in the 3rd level are a great hit with the kids! Cafe with lake views and excellent food is a great midway lunch stop.

Fantastic multi-media exhibits with fascinating background on the Olympics games history and rules. Also fun memorabilia like they torches and costumes from the shows. Something for everyone, whether you’re a sports/Olympics fan or not. It’s also right on the river so very convenient to get to. It is free with the Swiss Rail Pass but I would have paid to go in.

A fantastic museum that not only allows you to learn about history through its exhibits and explanations but also offers interactive facilities suitable for both adults and children. The museum is located right by Lake Geneva, where many people enjoy outdoor picnics and walks – it's a very comfortable place.

Amasing museum, I have been in various museums of different topics the past few years. The Olympic Museum is one of the best if not the best museum I have been up to now. I was also fortunate to be able to see the excibition for the Paris 2024 Marathon race which was about marathon running. Amasing videos, amasing info, amasing excibit items. Whoever loves sports this museum is the best that he can be....no matter how mcu time i will spend writting my opinion about the museum it wont be enough to express myself. I am glad that i saw this museum. Its a must to go.

Very enjoyable and educational experience. We enjoyed the displays of Olympic medals, torches, uniforms and equipment. Learned about the history of the Olympic Movement in Greek and Modern times. We were there for three hours…not too crowded.
