Something has to change! For the last 2 years this gym has been going downhill, very downhill. Lets start with the ongoing ladies toilet problem. How can a gym continue being open when the toilet facilities are not available at all (this includes ladies and disabled)? This issue reoccurs once every week for las 2 years. Management claims this is because of the members throwing staff into toilets, but please just review your plumbing/drainage system and adjust to the necessities of a busy amenity (as clearly the system cant cope atm). Another issue is the cleanliness in the gym, dust everywhere, etc. They have 1 sanitary station left (after weeks of fighting for it) but they cant be bothered to fill up the sanitizer in it. No sanitizer neither by the massage chair. Massage chair is another function that we pay for extra but does not work many times. Recently I have received an email announcing that my membership this year is going up £2, and I hope this is to improve the standards at the gym rather that enlarge pockets of the directives. Quoting another person who commented here before: Puregym, I have not come across a company who sends out as many 'feedback' emails as you do, yet you do nothing to the gym a better place. Personally I am only staying at this gym because of the amazing Pt's at the gym, but for new people coming: be smart, choose another gym.

I have been a member of this gym from the day was opened and I can see that Puregym Burnham don't get any founding for maintenance/improvements. Our membership money go somewhere else, looking after other gyms and for opening brand new ones. There are so many reviews where members complained about the state of Puregym Burnham facilities, broken machines, problems with toilets etc. but seems that no one from the higher management cares. Really disappointing as this gym have a great potential. We have amazing Pts and fantastic gym community, all we need is a safe, clean gym. Please don't reply with generic response that you want to provide your members with a safe and clean space as you are clearly NOT! And please don't say to members to contact the gym manager if you have any concerns as so many members complained and still nothing is done!

Respectfully, you get what you pay for, however the place seems to just be going down hill. There isn't much care from Puregym. It is not the most hygienic gym and many of their big equipments are dusty and does not get cleaned well (this is not the cleaners fault). You can't find what you are looking as the weights and equipment do not get put back in its place. Another big concern is that the car park has BIG lights, but they are NEVER on. Do they realise how dangerous is is to park in the dark with no lights? You can easily hit a car, miss someone walking by because it is too dark. This is a big safety concern and I am surprised this has been going on as long as it has. The car park is also very filthy. Photos attached will speak for itself. Basically, the place has become a children's playground. The only benefit they have their location and it being open 24/7 (but read the T&S's). Puregym, I have not come across a company who sends out as many 'feedback' emails as you do, yet you do nothing to the gym a better place.

Quite busy during the rush hours. Good facilities. Good selection of cardio machines. Like the different floors idea. Open 24/7. Free weights area can be quite busy and you might have to wait to get access to free weights. Free parking for 2 and half hours. Pin code access. £20/month. Music is played all day long which is quite annoying. You can take your own headphones to listen to whatever you want instead of music. Toilets need more cleaning other than that the gym area is cleaned regularly.

I've started going to this gym for about 2 months and overall i like it. Staff seem friendly, motivating and get to know their regulars. Classes are really great and the type of equipment available is good too. It's these things that bump it up to a 4 star rating. The following things make me want to give it less. - Each week there's an issue with the ladies changing rooms/toilets being inaccessible, due to an ongoing issue with one of the toilets leaking/plumbing issue. Seems to be leaks in other areas too. - When the gym is busy, it gets a bit smelly. - Yoga should be done in a warm room not a fully air conditioned one. - boxing gloves, pads and mats are ripped and whiffy. Not enough mats for class capacity. - one of the cleaners decided to walk in and start cleaning during an ongoing class. I've read some reviews from a year ago with the same issues e.g. toilets, to which Puregym has replied, but are still pending resolution.

Good enough and fit for purpose. I was initially really happy with the gym however over time, it's become more of a fight for machines and equipment during busy periods. Good range of cardio machines but also lacking, stair machines for example that I've seen in other branches... Not enough cable clips available so some machines unusable without having to nick clips from another. Alot of machines out if order on a semi regular basis, which is understandable but it's a shame they can't be sorted sooner! No plan to stay here will be leaving mainly due to the fact it's lacking in some areas if you take your training seriously. Prefer my "dirty gyms" where you'll not find a kid sat on a machine looking at his mobile phone for 10 minutes.

I went once and cancelled my membership straight away. Such a bad gym, the equipment isn't great, it's very messy, hot and overcrowded. Such a disappointment considering other PureGym gyms are great (the one in Maidenhead is amazing).

Standard PureGym, but small version. Split into several different rooms rather than one large one. Good aspects are that there is a massage bed and a vibration plate machine. Easy parking

I attended pure gym Burnham since 2018… I attended pure gym Burnham since 2018 and sadly I have seen this gym go downhill in this time . It used to be a great place to train at full of friendly people . I have seen many management come and go over the years , some fantastic and some that just were not qualified to manage a gym of this size . After working on the front line as an nhs nurse I had a bit of time out and returned last year . When I returned I was saddened to see that the gym had become very ‘ clicky’. Members would gather in the management office and gossip with management about other members . I joined a group led by a PT there that created a lot of bad feeling between the trainers and people in this group were brought into management politics and issues . My name started to become brought into every issue when most of the time I had no idea about these situations. I started being targeted and used as a scapegoat in situations and I started being bullied . Despite this , I would not allow anyone to ‘push’ me out of a gym I had attending for a very long time with no previous issues . One PT affected my mental health badly last year by making demands from me surrounding GDPR and confidentiality. This was in a bid to exclude me from their group . I didn’t train at this gym for 2 months due to a deterioration in my mental health and it was very hard for me to return . I escalated my concerns on this trainer but sadly nothing was ever resolved only a 5 minute meeting in which management tried to push me out of this gym. I continued to attend classes with an injury that was kindly always modified for me by fantastic trainers such as George, Ritchie, Harry and Eddie . I am very grateful to these trainers . Unfortunately more recently myself and others witnessed a trainer being quite abrupt and rude in their classes and I escalated this to management. Ultimately for doing so I was called into a meeting - 2 males and myself one female and accused of things that I had no idea about and not given any details on to even provide my side . I was extremely upset and was not even offered a tissue from these managers. Since this happened I have suffered from clinical depression and been under the care of my gp . Please read another review further down that is quite similar to my own story and experience. Head office will not assist you so the only option you are left with is to take matters legally . I’m afraid there is a culture of bullying and scapegoating at this gym and I would be extremely mindful if you are looking to join . If you do be mindful it will affect your statutory rights if you make any complaint and your cards will be marked .The gym and certain trainers here have to ask members to post good reviews I hear to increase their chances of getting funds to renovate. Whilst the gym does need maintenance I can honestly say it needs a clear out of poor management, toxicity, gossiping and bullying moreso.

I normally do my session early hours and it's amazing. Practically empty gym and get an excellent session without disturbance. Just be careful about over staying in the car park or remember to register your vehicle index. Decent price.

Impressed with the improvements this gym has made over the years, the set up and equipment available is impressive and similar to that of more expensive, 'premium' gyms. Only went on a day pass but has an excellent workout. Only gripe is I couldn't find any steps but that could be my own fault!

Pretty good gym, however no respect from users in terms of putting weights away, and as it is unstaffed, it is down to others to sort it out. Parking can also be difficult, and if you need more than 2.5 hours, you have to enter your reg into a tablet, else face a fine.

Great People, fantastic staff and classes. Building and facilities are breaking apart, which can make it difficult to work out at times. Floor is slippery, a/c broken, machines and spin bikes broken etc.

Today I had my let’s get started introduction at pure gym Burnham This was very informative and made me feel excited to embark on my new fitness regime for 2024 (I know the question is how long will this last) After the introduction I was raring to get going, got myself changed and headed for the machines, not brave enough for the free weight section. The machines were nicely spaced out not in top of each other, a couple of the machines I felt needed to be adjusted as they were queening and juddering, shower head in the male changing room could do with descaling and adjustment to the length of time that the shower flows for as I was left standing in a cold shower cubicle However this has not deterred me from arranging my next training session and look forward to attending some of the classes Here’s to a fitter, healthier me for 2024

Amazing gym, great staff members just slightly low on heavy plates mainly 25kg. Really clean gym

  • 3/5 Jason M. 1 year ago on Google
It was ok, the weight area could do with a few more plate locks (spring locks) on the Olimpic bars, more handles for pull-downs, and ropes for tricep pull-downs. AGAIN The continued bad order is a problem, and the hygiene in the shower / changing area needs to be addressed. This is NOT the first time I've mentioned this and I think I'm now getting the standard response. If you're not going to do anything and change it then please don't bother trying to look good in your reviews when you reply to this. I would like to see a marked change.

Very nice gym, good environment. Only problem i felt coming from west London PureGym was that this is quite small so felt more crowded. But over the period of time, i have gotten used to it. Cleanliness is good, classes and instructors are very good. Good spread of equipment.

A gym with a big variety of good equipment and classes but extremely overcrowded. If you go during the peak times you will have to wait for every machine as gym is just too small to facilitate over 115 people. Smell of sweat can be intense in the cardio area and changing rooms have been flooded regularly. Will be moving gyms as the overcrowded issue really stops me from going when I need to.

  • 3/5 alex f. 1 year ago on Google
This gym is so overcrowded at peak times that it's impossible to get what you need to do in the short time we all have to spare, the parking is shocking but I guess there is not much you can do about that apart from the over subscribing issue. The disabled shower has been broken for weeks, adding to the difficulty for me to train there. Please get this small, but rather large issue for me, fixed please. The fact that the shower has been left just shows how this pure gym doesn't give a flying monkey about the members that have to use it, is disgraceful. Sort it out

One star . Recently heard about a member I trained with for years being treated badly by this gym . Have heard their side of all matters and seen the evidence and to say it’s shocked me is an understatement. No protocols correctly followed , no duty or care to their physical or mental health . Nasty , toxic culture that I am appalled to see happen to any member . Such a shame as used to be such a pleasant and friendly gym . I don’t recommend.

This is the Studio @puregymburnham a place where I’m surrounded weekly by enthusiastic and motivated fellow gym goers along with studio teaching staff. People who like me want to improve their mental and physical well-being. Sadly the same motivation, enthusiasm and support cannot be said for the Management of this PureGym facility. For the last 7 weeks, during the most incredible heat wave in the UK, the air conditioning unit in the Studio has been broken. Management have been informed that the AC unit is broken. That clients are struggling with extreme temperatures within the gym space and still no action has been taken to replace the AC unit. We have asked for fans to be set in the studio to help circulate air during this time, which would provide some relief for those attending classes and we have been ignored. You would have thought that the physical health, well being and safety of customers would be at the top of the Pure Gym Managements list, and the top priority of @puregymofficial in general, sadly actions, or their lack of, speak louder than words!

Gym is great overall, but please can you do something about the music. I usually train at night when there isnt even many people there so why is the music so loud. It is extremely annoying even when I have my own airpods playing, at full volume!!, I can still hear the awful gym music playing.

Fairly well equipped gym. Good value for money but looking a little tired and very busy at times. Parking is a nightmare when busy as the car park is not patrolled/enforced. People will park right in front of your car if there are no spaces available.

The company don't put any money back in to the business the problems are not a fault of the staff it is a fault of lack of funding gym equipment broken eg( out of 8 bikes 5 work) mirrors broken in the room where classes are held, everytime it rains heavy the ceiling leak and toilets (women and disabled ) flood the staff can not fix these problems if the company don't do there part, instead of pocketed the money we pay for a safe training experience, this lack of care from company owners is the reason this gym lacks a positive gym community. This review is from someone who has been coming to this gym for 9year save your money go somewhere else

This gym provides below the bare minimum of a standard gym. The ac is never on or it’s low when the gym is at max capacity also theres not enough plates in the weight room. The worst thing about this gym is the space is not utilised properly everything is shoved together and rammed with more cardio machines than needed. This gym could seriously benefit if they had more popular equipment i.e 2 more cable machines.
