This agency booked us a family wedding in santorini which all our international family and friends attended from around the the world. In order to get a sale they lied their butts off about the hotel amenities and the venue for the reception. They told us that there is indoor and outdoor area for guests and if it is cold (since its may) they will let us use the indoor premises. We got to the hotel where everyone was very kind and super friendly from the hotel but finally discovered there is no indoor venue! All our guests are sitting out freezing with blankets, we have kids and elderly that are sick and recovering major illnesses that have frozen, even the grooms family left early. Very dissapointing that an agency of thi size can lie like this and still get bookings. YOU SHOULD BE ASHAMED OF YOURSELFS YOU ARE DISGUSTING! Booking a wedding abroad requires you to have a lot of faith in your planners. Something I had my reservations about when I first booked it. However, Ionian weddings have given me a wedding that has surpassed and exceeded anything I had imagined. From start to finish, the process was made less stressful by the communication and information provided to me. You received an extensive booklet that allows you to view what is on offer and you simply fill in a form with any additions you would like on your big day. After that, the planners will go away and get you a revised price. It was always easy and done without stress. I ended up doing these forms 3 times due to COVID and each time it wasn’t too tasking. Furthermore, Ionian were very understanding and empathetic when it came to payment during COVID and they even delayed payment up to 6 weeks before the big day. When we made the decision to postpone, due to COVID, they offered us dates very quickly and if it wasn’t for their quick communication, we would have missed out on the date and time we wanted. Lindsay was our home wedding planner and she was quick to communicate,chased and answered the endless queries I had and supported us when documentation wasn’t approved. She sent through detailed itineraries for the day and even went on to arranging a private boat trip for some of the wedding party. She was fantastic! When we arrived in Italy, we met Viola. She was fantastic too! As soon as I landed, she messaged me. We met Viola twice and she showed us the suppliers, venues and showed us how the day would run. Viola was kind, caring and always greeted us with a smile. She really put me at ease! On the day, she was amazing. She was quick to respond if anything needed to be done and I cannot thank her enough. The wedding looked amazing and I was so impressed by everything. When you book an abroad wedding, you really don’t know what you are getting until you get there. It was impossible for us to visit the venues before hand because of Covid so we put our faith in Ionian. They delivered and made our day something truly amazing. Both venues (Cloisters and Castore) were amazing. The food was delicious and they really went above and beyond for us and our guests. I would 100% recommend them. We started planning our wedding with Ionian Weddings in August 2020, firstly we spoke with Cassi via a virtual F2F meeting to go through any concerns we had, questions and potential destinations before then making our decision to get married abroad and to use Ionian Weddings to plan the event. Cassi was lovely and listened to us both and answered all our questions, she gave us time to think about all the information and then helped us get setup with Ionian Weddings when we decided we wanted to go ahead with our abroad wedding. We then spoke to Pat throughout 2020 to get most of the organising done, flying out to Portugal to see our original venue in September, where we got to meet the local wedding planner who would be at our wedding. The use of the catalogues to pick your extras is very helpful and makes the process very easy. I like the packages that Ionian offer, as it's very clear what is included and then the brochures allow you to tailor the day further if you want to. We then spoke with Maria throughout 2021 to finalise all of the details and confirm everything. Everyone at Ionian Weddings that we dealt with came across as very thorough, helpful and responsive, Maria especially. For us, 1 week before our wedding in Portugal, the government rules locally changed, which unfortunately meant our wedding wouldn't be able to go ahead. We spoke to Ionian about potential other options (including cancelling completely, postponing, as well as changing venues), they could not have been more helpful and sympathetic to our situation. They found an alternative venue with the same availability for the following week as our previously planned Portugal event, they assured us they could get the documentation changed and turned around within the required timescales and so we agreed to change the country! Ionian weddings helped us change our entire wedding to Cyprus in 3 days and everything went ahead as planned and was perfect. We didn't miss out on anything and we are extremely grateful to them for their help during this time! We wouldn't hesitate to recommend them to anyone looking to get married abroad, with us both being super organised and enjoying planning, we were worried that it wouldn't feel like we had had much of a say in our wedding but this is totally not the case with Ionian Weddings, to us it felt like the wedding was completely organised by us, with everything we wanted, but without any of the actual organising, co-ordinating or booking! After a stressful time of having to cancel our wedding due to the venue charging us to move it to next year due to covid, Ionian took our complaint seriously. They listened to how we felt and understood the implications and hurt it caused us. We are so thankful for their help and dedication to get our complaint sorted. They really went above and beyond considering it wasnt entirely their fault.

Just want to say a huge thank you to Lizzie and the team for making our wedding in Sorrento, Italy a fabulous experience, notably during these difficult times. After a postponement in May, we arranged for the wedding in October and whilst there were a few hiccups along the way ( no fault of Ionian ), the wedding couldn't of gone more perfect. We spend the most magical week away in Italy with all our friends/family despite the pandemic and Ionian were absolutely awesome every step of the way. Any refunds owed on certain stuff was never an issue and was paid instantly. They were constantly reassuring in case the wedding got postponed again, so we always felt comfortable knowing they were going to support us if need be. As we were preparing for our wedding we had some issues with our wedding venue, which were out of the control of Ionian Weddings. The wonderful thing was that the matter was handled beautifully by the owner of Ionian Weddings himself. He was truly very giving, very generous and very accommodating and resolved any issue we had promptly and super-efficiently. Put our minds to peace straight away. Our wedding is due in less than 3 months from now and we truly feel taken care of and protected by Ionian Weddings! More updates to come after our special day. We are so excited and can't wait! We got married finally on 7th June 2022, after 2 postponements. Our UK wedding planner Maria was very helpful throughout, she was happy to speak to us anytime to discuss and concerns or clarifications we needed. We got married in Sorrento, Italy at the Cloisters followed by our reception at Citrus Grove Farmhouse. Both venues were amazing our Italian wedding planer Antonella was brilliant, she was actually the same lady who we met in 2019 when we viewed the different venues. She went above and beyond my now husband lost a crown whilst we were eating diner, 3 days before the wedding, and Antonella found us a dentist at 7.30pm on a Friday night! Who sorted it out for us the day before the wedding, otherwise he would have been smiling with his mouth closed as it was a front tooth!! All the staff we have dealt with at Ionian have been massively helpful and genuinely nice people. Any couples out there who want something different from the standard hotel venues I would strongly recommend the Citrus Grove, the place is amazing, the staff were absolutely fantastic the whole day was just fabulous from start to finish!! I would highly recommend Ionian weddings.

We used Ionian Weddings for our wedding in Sorrento a few weeks ago and they did an amazing job. We had a bit of a hiccup with a wire transfer and the staff at Ionian was so great during this stressful time. They were very helpful and patient with us and we couldn't have asked for a better destination wedding experience. We loved working with Maria (our main wedding coordinator) and Valeria (our local coordinator).

We booked our wedding in Portugal with Ionian, it was pretty stress free from start to finish and we had the most incredible day. Our wedding value for money was great too compared to weddings in the UK. If you’re looking at a destination wedding I would definitely recommend booking with Ionian. And also a thanks to Maria who was great at getting back to all of my questions very quickly

Wow as the mother of the bride I have to give Ionian Weddings 5 stars. I literally have nothing negative to say about this fabulous company and I would highly recommend them - same for the bride and groom! I was so completely impressed by this wedding company - they sorted the transport, flowers, food, photographs, the most spectacular wedding venues and more.... They made my daughter's wedding in Sorrento truly special and utterly beautiful. Everything ran smoothly, they took care of everything and nothing was a problem. We recently got back from our wedding in Cyprus. From start to finish Ionian weddings have been a lovely company to work with in planning our wedding. Our UK planner Helen was fantastic! Very kind, helpful, and was always there when I needed any questions answering. She was always clear with the information going through the planning process. Our planner in Cyprus, Kim was also very kind and helpful. I could not fault Ionian weddings for making our day very special. We were lucky to have in my opinion the best photographer! Absolutely amazing photos, capturing every moment and went above and beyond our expectations. I don’t even know where to begin! Lindsay and Valeria were just the most amazing and supportive wedding planners! Nothing was too much trouble and they really had a handle on the whole day. From the first phone call I felt at ease with Ionian weddings. Their knowledge and options provided were fantastic and their flexibility was what we needed when I changed my mind near the end 🙊 During the planning, we dealt mostly with Lindsay who was always on the end of a phone if needed. She would remind me of important dates and deadlines and even when we had a hiccup with the documents nothing caused her to panic. She helped keep us both calm and knew we were in safe hands When we arrived in Sorrento, Valeria took over. We had our pre wedding meeting and she took a us the the florist and then venues and throughout the whole thing she said ‘don’t worry about it because I’ll be there’ and she really was. Everyone who attended commented on how smooth Valeria made the day feel and was on hand to help. The day after we had a small dinner at the Lemon Gardens which they helped plan and when we arrived we were given a few bottles of wine from Ionian weddings to celebrate with which I thought was a really nice touch. Ionian weddings have been absolutely fantastic from start to finish. They have supported us every step of the way, through covid and so much more. Maria has been fantastic, answering all emails in detail and quickly. Nothing was too big or too small. The whole team in Sorrento, especially Rosaria, were absolutely brilliant. They honestly made sure it was the best day of our lives. I wish we could do it all again.

We had our wedding in Tuscany, Italy on the 3rd of May 2022 and had a fantastic experience planning with Maria. She guided us so well through, extremely prompt answering all of our questions and no question or ask was ever too much. The day itself and day 2 went so well, better than we could have imagined. Serena our coordinator in Italy on the day was also fantastic, very calming and made sure everything went off without a hitch, we were so pleased with how everything came together and couldn’t have been happier 😊

The best customer service experience I have ever received! Federica was absolutely incredible. She was able to provide a date for our wedding in Rhodes, Greece, within 24 hours - incredible! She was able to reserve the date and even replied to emails in the evening! I am very excited to get going with planning the wedding, could not recommend more!

We recently held our wedding in Greece, after initially booking a beach ceremony we found out at the point of confirming the running order for the day that weddings on the beach weren't allowed at the time we had booked for, which initially caused some upset, however Lindsay came back with a possible solution and I'm so pleased we went with it, our day was absolutely everything we wanted!!! George Nick and the Groom therapy band were all amazing, meeting with us to go through what we wanted and how the day would run and George was available at anytime for any questions we had he really is a star!!!. It really was the most special day we could have wished for.

A really helpful service! Cassi was very knowledgeable and answered all of my (many) questions, she got all the information I requested to me really quickly. They have a great range of venues and trusted suppliers. The proposals are really informative and well put together, I would definitely recommend working with them.

We had our wedding in September 2021 in Santorini. Had I have known how poor the service at Ionian would be, I would have just booked the venue and all suppliers myself to save myself the stress and money/time wasted. Our planner who was based in the UK was worked 2 hours between Monday - Thursday. Covid had half of their staff furloughed which I sympathise but they hadn’t informed us upon booking, and this half service was not reflected in the price either, but definitely reflected in the service level. It took hundreds of emails to get a simple response, and when I chased I was told my wedding wasn’t a priority as it was still 6 months away, and that people only start the ‘real planning’ 4 months before the wedding date. It was just ridiculous. The planner in Santorini was great which is the only reason I haven’t given 1 star. She was informative and helpful - but she had clearly not been given all the details by the main planner as there were so many inconsistencies and misinformation throughout the process. On the wedding day our cake was an absolute disaster - it was not at all what it looked like in their catalogue. It honestly looked like a child with obstructed sight made it while sleepwalking. This cake was almost £500 and they pushed me to order a cake stand, they told me only two were available - both over £50 then on the day they gave us a cheap wooden one that they said they couldn’t even use as it was too windy. They refunded me for both after I made a complaint, however the traditional wedding cake pictures will never be used as the cake was that embarrassing. A refund isn’t enough to make up for that. We had booked the time from 3pm - 12am and was only made aware at the pre wedding meeting that from 11pm the music would be lowered, as it was actually illegal at the time to have parties and gatherings due to covid, but that as the venue was private it ‘should be ok providing no police drives past..’. We were also not allowed to pick our own DJ which would have been fine had wr had been allowed to speak to the DJ or hear some of his demos, but it seemed the DJ was more protected than the prime minister and no one could even pass a message onto him. I was told by Ionian that this ‘normal and other couples are fine with this’ - which really isn’t helpful. Luckily, I called the venue directly and managed to get in touch so it wasn’t as impossible as Ionian made it out to be. Also it’s now been 3 months since our wedding and we’ve still not received our marriage certificate. We were told to pay more to have the solicitor come to us in Santorini, and to pay and get it translated as it would be easier and faster than to do it later, 3 months on and I’ve had to chase 3 times for it. Every time I contact Ionian it just so happens that it JUST arrived in their office and they’re JUST about to post it etc but still…. We don’t have it, which leads me to believe like everything else they just don’t care. I never leave bad reviews, especially not a long essay but honestly there aren’t enough words to describe the disappointment I have in Ionian. I chose them because they advertised ‘booking with confidence’ and seemed to be professional and take pride in making life easier, not telling brides that their wedding isn’t a priority because it’s later in the year. So just to sum up… I do not recommend Ionian for your big day, a total rip off.

I’ve recently booked my wedding through Ionian weddings and I feel so relaxed and confident everything will be perfect! I had Jane throughout my quoting/booking experience who was so lovely, happy to help, raised many ideas and was very patient as I asked for a very high number of quotes in many destinations. When we finally made up our mind Jane continued the amazing service once booked and we paid the deposit. The response time on emails is very fast and whenever I need a phone call Jane will always arrange a time as soon as she is free. I had numerous wedding planners quoting myself throughout my quoting experience however this was only to see if I could get a better price, in the end Ionian won on service and price. - If you’re thinking of booking a wedding through Ionian, I definitely would recommend the company and to speak with Jane.

Amazing service! When we knew we wanted to get married in italy we were initially daunted by the administration it would involve making sure the documents were correct. After finding Ionian they made this so easy for us and we cannot thank them enough! Right from the start through all the planning process they have been there to make sure all the finer details have been put in place to create the most incredible day. Our wedding planner Lindsay was exceptionally helpful and quick to respond to any of our queries in the lead up to the wedding. The wedding day itself ran flawlessly with Viola and Ana looking after our guests and giving us nothing to do other than enjoy ourselves. Maria was a great help from the start of the whole process and very prompt and helpful in responding to our questions. We booked the Pestana Viking for our wedding in Portugal and Marta and Mel (wedding planner and hotel manager) were great in the lead up and on the day itself making sure everything was organised. From day one the service from Ionian Weddings was amazing. If your thinking of getting married aboard book with Ionian. We changed destinations a few times the team were patient with us whilst we decided on the destination. In the end we decided on Santorini for the amazing views.
