Its a beautiful place to spend time with family and friends. It has two picnic shelter and has a big parking place. The view from the top is really amazing.. From there view of Ohio river, parkersburg, belpre is incredible. It has a small playground for kids and has hiking trail, and really everything is beautiful.

We started our trip here with a picnic lunch. Beautiful views of the Ohio & Little Kanawha Rivers along with Belpre, OH and downtown Parkersburg, WV. Historic Fort with canons and paved walkways to go down. Got a glimpse of the Island Belle sternwheeler in action! Clean restrooms.

The view is absolutely gorgeous! Cool little walking hiking trail with a lot of history about the old fort. Would give it 5 stars but the playground was torn down so no where for the kids to really play.

Absolutely beautiful scenery. Came here with hopes to hike a little and the train although short was a great beginner trail. This site has the best views of Parkersburg and the river aswell.

Great stop on our drive through western WV! We spent about 1.5 hours playing on the playground, reading the history, and enjoying the paths. We only did the short piece from the parking lot, around the mountain, and back up to the flagpoles. It was rocky, and a little steep, but our small kids did fantastic. It was a little uncomfortable for my far-from-athletic abilities, but overall it was fine. The highway traffic noise takes away from the ambiance, and the overgrowth blocks some of the views, but I still say it was a worth a stop to stretch your legs. We saw quite a few families enjoying lunch there.

Wonderful park! Lots of covered picnic tables and covered trash cans. Has doggy bags. Wonderful historical signs to explain the significance of the Fort and the city. Views are of the city, railroad, river, bridges and you can see Market Street from the top. Is ADA accessible! You must climb about 40 stairs to get to the top view point but the ADA path has good views as well. Cannons are good photo spots, and has a selfie station overlooking the water and city. Almost Heaven selfie sign made with instagram in mind. Couldn’t ask for a better blend of historical and modern relevance in regards to a place to go eat lunch alone or with family. Spent about 1 hour there total but you could do the whole park in less than 30 min.

Was there for the Amedisys hospice memorial. Great view, nice accommodations for my wife's wheelchair. We'll go back at some point for a picnic, I'm sure. I plan to find a little more about the history of the place.

Everything about the park is nice. Beautiful view. Some small walking trails. Always seams well maintained. The 3 stars is simply because that is pretty much all there is. A picnic area with small playground a nice overlook and a little bit of a walking area. I like the park, visit if you are near by, but do not go out of your way to visit.
