My friend recommended having a burger here. It is a small, simple, and cozy hamburger restaurant. I loved this place as soon as I saw it. It is mainly because, to my experience of traveling many counties globally, many excellent and affordable restaurants usually keep their simple outlook. There are only two tables, and many people ordered take-out in person and over the phone. Steve, the owner, was cooking and calling the order when I was waiting for my order. I was impressed by his humility and diligence, considering that the founders of other restaurants usually do not work at the front line when they become famous. I ordered three burgers for my sons as meals which included excellent fries and drinks. According to my sons, the fatties are thicker than our favorite Five Guys and juicy. They were cooked just right to be slightly pink. Also, buns were soft but not moist, unlike Five Guys. Fries were good, and you can order different flavors (four, if I remember correctly). My onion rings were also good. I loved this place. I hope that they open one in Cherry Hill too.

Delicious juicy Steve burger cooked exactly the way I wanted. The bun is fresh and soft , lettuce tomato bacon secret sauce etc. definitely returning and staff was courteous and friendly. CASH only was the only bummer.

Very disappointed! It was our first and last time here. This place was recommended by a friend who lives near by, and admittedly my expectations were high. Immediately upon entering, the pungent odor of a dirty, wet mop smacked us in the face. If we didn't go out of our way to go here, and it wasn't so highly recommended, I would have left without ordering. The customer area was freezing, and they had space heaters for the workers only, so eating in the car was the best option. Not that big of a deal, maybe the heat was out. The burger was ok, but nothing to brag about. I give it a 2 out of 5. The fries on the other hand, were horrendous. Because we got there around opening, I honestly believe they gave us fries that were left over from the day before. I think they just threw them back in the deep fryer to heat them up. If I'm wrong, and they were made fresh, they were still disgusting! The only bright side was that the cashier was friendly and nice. Although the food was reasonably priced, it was a complete waste of money. I hate leaving a bad review, but I would have appreciated reading a review like this before I decided to try it or not.

I was recommended by my cousin in GA to check out Steve’s after seeing it on YouTube during the summer. I finally checked it out on 11/12 and it was definitely worth the drive. I got the Steve’s Burger with fries and it was phenomenal. All around great burger for sure. I’ll eventually be back for the patty melt. Grade A.

Great burgers and we met ⚡⚡⚡Steve⚡⚡⚡👍 I ordered a cheeeeeesy cheese burger with no lettuce or tomato. I added mayo and ketchup which makes for a great combination. Princess Elizabeth ordered a regular cheeseburger with lettuce . Chili cheese fries were amazing!! We did not get to meet Steve today but he was there working on a project . Thank you for a fantastic birthday experience. Great burgers great location very nice service staff.

Steve's Burgers on Route 46 definitely lives up to the hype. Their burgers are substantive, going in at six ounces and are very filling. Their hot dogs, which I took "All The Way", contained a variation on an ingredient not normally found in an all the way dog: Red Onion. Add their chili sauce to the mix and you have a top notch dog. The fries were solid too. Another standout on the menu is the inclusion of one of my favorite soda brands: C&C. With two young ladies at the counter giving tremendous service, it all added up to one great visit. Another plus: Cash Only!

I’ve been here 3 times already. The cheesesteak is delicious. The cheeseburger is delicious. The fries and onion rings are made fresh. Tonight I’m trying the fried Oreos, chicken fingers and fries for my friends son. Steve’s burgers will not disappoint! I’m Italian, from Brooklyn and love good food. A fresh homemade burger is something of nostalgia for me. My dad wouldn’t cook often, mom did it almost always. When dad cooked it was homemade burgers and French fries. My dad would’ve loved the food here. If I still lived in Brooklyn I’d drive here for the food. 100% worth it. Don’t be fooled into thinking commercialized burger joints are quality. It’s here for sure! The staff is wonderful and super friendly. They seem really happy working here. I’ve managed in hospitality for decades. This work ethic, quality and price are hard to come by. It has to be a reflection of the owner, his vision and integrity. No wonder the walls are adorned with plaques of write ups and recognition. The owner was there tonight and he was charismatic and friendly with everyone. This establishment gets 5 stars for food, service and quality. PS.Steve, the owner is a cutie! 5 stars for him too

I could've sworn that I had already done a review of this spot. From my experience thus far, Steve's Burgers off of 46 in Garfield has the best burgers in New Jersey. If you're looking for a huge burger, no. But flavor-wise, I have yet to find a better burger anywhere. Just today I discovered that they also make some of the best shakes I've ever had. Wonderful service, too, Danielle is a fantastic waitress. Cash only, but they're so worth it, plus they have great Old Fashioned Root Beer. Highly, highly recommended. Go and enjoy, especially if you're a burger lover, you're gonna be super happy here.

I would say one of the top spots in NJ. Very good burger. Tasted homemade. Definitely going back. Sorry for the bad burger pic. I wasn't supposed to post it online.

The burger was actually pretty good, but not worth the long drive. If I’m in the area I’ll definitely be going again.

Great little hometown mom and pop burger shop on RT46. Been coming here a while and never disappoints. Definitely recommend if you’re in the area. Super limited seating. Parking is however you can place your car in the small lot. Location comes right after a small hill on RT46, don’t miss it.

Steve's Burgers has been on my "Foodie List" for some years now, and I finally had the opportunity to visit! I came early, because I've heard there is a lunch "rush hour", and I don't typically like crowds. I informed the waitress that it was my first time to eat at this establishment, and she told me what are the staples and good eats for a first-timer. I settled on Steve's Burger (Topped with sauce, cheese, and an onion ring with the staples) with a half onion-ring half fries combo. I waited for about 7-8 minutes, and my food came out. Everything --- and I mean everything --- was piping hot: the burger, fries, and onion rings. I took a bite out of the burger and immediately understood why this place has a reputation: it's a no-fuss, good grub burger spot. You don't need a michelin star when you've got your own secret to making delicious grub. I finished the food...in about 10 minutes. There was absolutely nothing left on my plate. Next time? Probably try the "Burger of the Month" or the famous "Patty Melt". But for now, today was a great introduction to Steve's Burgers, by having, the burger that started it all, Steve's Burger. Phew!

Stopped in on a Friday night around 7 with my husband and two friends. I had tried a different location before, which was only okay - but this one had better reviews so I decided to give it another go. I had the patty melt and enjoyed it. It wasn’t as greasy as I was expecting it to be, but I was only able to finish half because it’s still pretty heavy. We also got fries, which I didn’t love. They were a little soggy and had the skins on them. Overall, I don’t know if I loved the food that much to be coming back a third time. Tip - cash only

The burgers are some of the best i’ve ever had in my life. The staff is extremely nice. The only downside is that it’s not big enough to eat with your whole family. But the food is excellent and it’s worth a try if you’re in the area.

This is a burger shack on the side of a road so it is never going to get top grades. However, as burger places go, it deserves recognition and it easily goes toe-to-toe with larger and more established places. Food is cooked to order and the patty is quite tasty. Oh, and did I mention that prices are quite decent as well?

Excellent burgers. Fries were great too. Place is very small. And very busy. Definitely understaffed. The two girls behind the counter were having a tough time for the amount of people waiting for food. But they worked hard and did the best they could. One customer was very upset and started hurling f-bombs on the way out. Not cool. These girls were highschool age and the place was hopping. Back to the food. My wife is not a burger person but she wants to go back. That's how tasty the food was. I recommend this place. I'll try the one on Passaic Ave next. Maybe there's more room

Nothing I write could possibly reach the goodness of the food and the friendliness of the staff. This little, 'find', is a gem, like a diamond in a coal mine and has been awarded and acknowledged over and over by locals, county, state, and some national recognitions and mentions on television. Great food, friendly service, and good value are all found at this place.

Best burger in jersey probably!!!! I got the grand slam. It’s a little bit of everything. Thoroughly enjoyed it. I split it with my 3 yr old. He loved it too.

I feel like the burger is a good burger. Sadly, I think it was hyped up to the point where it could never meet my expectations. That is why it got 3 stars instead of 4. Would I eat it again? Sure. I just don't see myself going out of my way to get it. Onion rings were pretty solid as well. Next time I go, I think I'll try the cheese steak as I heard that is good there as well.

Decent, middle of the road burger… nothing mind blowing. Wish they warmed the bun, it could of added more cohesion to the burger.
