I was wrong about this place, they don’t know what they are doing and are not passionate about my pet. They gave him too much medicine at once, my beautiful pet past away, they did not give him proper care. The doctor was supposed to pick him up after he stopped shaking and let him walk around the cage and give oxygen. She just gave him a lot of medicine and let him stay on the side laying down all night, that’s what killed him. It’s not fair I can’t stop crying for days now.. I brought him there to help him not make him worse. Also they claimed they tried to revive him but I know for a fact they didn’t try he needed oxygen!. This is very sad now I had my pet Rabbit for 16 years strong he could of had more years.

This is an excellent animal hospital for your pet's care. The prices are higher than some other local area animal hospitals. They have remodeled their inside waiting area and customer service desk. They now have a closed off area for cats behind a glass door to help keep them calm during their visits. There's a separate area for dogs away from the cats which is great idea for both pets. They do have on site blood tests for quick results. There's also an over night tech to care for your pet if they need to stay the night.

I’ve been a faithful customer for 18 years bringing all of my pets there. I called up on Monday morning and tell them my German Shepherd has not eaten for two days and is not moving and I need to come in as an emergency. They told me they could get me in on Friday!!! Could you imagine? I told him my dog would not last until then and they really could care less. They directed me to find an urgent care veterinarian. Unbelievable I wouldn’t trust them with a goldfish. When I called to ask for my records I was advised that a manager would call me back and of course they did not. Long story short my dog needed emergency surgery and would not of lasted a couple more hours never mind five days. I would advise to steer clear of this place if you care about your pet. They totally dropped the ball and could care less to even call me. If you are a customer there I would advise you to run not walk away. Believe me when your pet needs emergency care they could care less. I would give zero stars but it will not allow me.

Staff is nice and good and all but these prices are getting out of control. Had to switch Vets and found one with reasonably solid prices. For instances VCA wanted to charge me 1300-1400 for a neuter and the other place was $800 with extra sedatives when my dog gets home.

When I made an appointment for a rabies shot and nail trim they wanted a deposit a month in advance....and when I took my cat in for a rabbies shot, nail trim and ear cleaning I got a bill for almost $300 dollars...and my friend who brought her cat for a swollen leg had exrays on its leg and it cost over $1,000...I mean the Doctor and assistants are good but do you could leave me a little money for food...not everyone makes $1,300 an hour.

I can’t say enough positive things about this vet hospital. They have gone above and beyond to treat many of my dogs past and present, including lymphoma, Addison’s disease, and simple ear infections and allergies. I trust this hospital wholeheartedly and respect Dr.Beeber who runs this place! Fantastic customer service from their nurses and doctors. Hats off to Dr.Beeber who even checked in with me later in the evening when most don’t. 1000% recommend your pet’s safety in their possession!

I found this Hospital because my dog had an emergency. He was neuter in another facility and his stitches had opened up. Since it was Christmas Eve the place I had taken him to get neutered was closed. Thankfully I found Rutherford Animal Hospital. My baby was treated with care and he was given the attention and treatment needed. They were very quick and affordable! Thank you Rutherford Animal Hospital!

I’ve been taking my dog here for several years. Staff is very friendly. I brought my dog for a checkup visit today that included a Bordetella vaccine and heartwarm/tick disease test. We did the same exact visit one year ago on 11/8/22 and the cost has increased by 38%! Last year the total was $265 and this year it was $365. That’s quite a big jump in one year. Here’s the breakdown from 2022 to 2023: Exam: 107.50 to 129.00 — 20% increase Bordetella: 41.80 to 61.20 — 48% increase HW/Tick Test: 129.95 to 216.00 — 66% increase I understand businesses are also impacted by inflation, but these increases are out of line. Is it really necessary to fleece pet owners like this? Seems excessive and greedy. I feel bad for people that have more than one animal. Costs are going to really add up. What a shame.

Today was the first and last time I'll be taking my paw son there. A dog peed in the waiting area, a tech wiped it up but didn't actually clean the floor. Gross. In the exam room a dirty towel was placed on the table which i wasn't comfortable putting my cat on (fleas etc.) The doctor/vet seemed knowledgeable and provided treatment. I'll be curious to see if it clears up his allergy. My jaw hit the floor when I got the bill... $307 for a non-emergency visit. Utterly absurd!!! They don't make it easy. Furthermore the two individuals at the front desk were not friendly. Overall not a good experience at VCA Rutherford Animal hospital...

No complaints about quality of care. But they charged $50 for a supplement that I later found out I could buy for $20 from Chewy. Exact same supplement, same dosage, count, etc. That is an insane mark up.

I have always had exceptional care for my dog (my baby) here and didn't think it could get better. Today it did. Dr. Tancredi is the most caring, amazing, willing to go above and beyond vet on the planet. I wish I could give 10 stars. If you're looking for a vet that is beyond knowledgeable and TRULY cares about your pet and you, look no further. Thank you Dr. Tancredi from the bottom of my heart and Toby thanks you too. Thank you to the entire staff who are also truly amazing.

Dr. Hoskin is amazing! I took my senior dog to her for some health concerns and she was extremely thorough. Dr. Hoskin has a genuine passion for animals. She took the time to explain everything to me in detail, and made sure that I understood all of my options before making any decisions. I can say I know my dog is in good hands with Dr. Hoskin.

I decided to go here when I had to put my sweet girl to sleep this weekend because it was closer to us then our regular vet and I didn’t want to stress my cat anymore then she already was. Anyone who has had to put a pet to sleep knows how unbelievably heart wrenching this is. Dr. Hosin and the vet tech (sorry I didn’t catch her name) were so incredibly kind, patient, and went above and beyond for us. They treated us and our baby Squeak like they had known us for years, and the entire process was handled with such grace. I’ve been a cat owner for over 15 years and I’ve been to my fair share of horrible vet clinics with no bedside manner whatsoever. Rutherford VCA is not a place where you have to worry about your pets being in great care. I can’t thank Dr. Hosin and her staff enough for their knowledge, comforting words, and for making my sweet girl feel so comfortable in her time of need. Highly recommended, and I look forward to bringing my other pets here in the future. Thank you again.

I’ve been taking my dog Ollie to VCA Rutherford Animal Hospital since he was 8 weeks old. He is almost 3 years old now! I love how conviennent and accommodating their staff is between scheduling and the uniqueness of their care for all animals. They always call to follow up & check on your pet which just goes to show their endless devotion. I will be taking him back for years to come!

ZERO stars, but you have to choose one. The vets and staff here lie and twist stories. The vet stated on a recorded message my mother in law should have put her dog down or highly sedated her years ago when the dog bit someone 11-25-2017. My mother in law refused at that time, and since the dog has become more aggressive even with my mother in law. Now my mother in law is in a home, and we have asked the vet for assistance and they refused stating we lied about a dog bite. Dog bites are LEGALLY documented by the local board of health and investigated. All of this can easily be legally found! How dare they say a family in complete dire straights with a documented aggressive dog by the vet herself lie! HORRIBLE staff! They also made us wait over a week before they decided they were not going to help us and then made up lies about why they would not help us. VETS make doing the RIGHT thing for society IMPOSSIBLE!!!!

I love my fur babies with my everything and I can say I trust this hospital 1000% with the care and needs of my babies. Every appointment they’re attentive and loving towards my dogs. Dr. Hoskins answers any and all questions I have. Recently one of my fur babies passed away due to a sickness that turned our world upside down but to know the staff at VCA staff was there to care not only for our fur babies but us as well helped us throughout the entire process. Our sweet bubby Cooper passed away around many he was loved by including the staff and to say it’s appreciated is an understatement. For anyone looking for a vet hospital that will treat your fur babies with the upmost care and loving that you would give them please go here. No one I trust more than Dr. Hoskins + the staff at VCA Rutherford.

I would recommend them to everyone.. the vet and the staff were great. We had a great experience from the second we called all the way up until we left... I called and they got me in right away with no wait. My cat usually hates going to the vet from the second she gets out of her cage but when we brought her here she allowed the vet to pet her. They were very professional and cared about my cat and wanted to make her first experience the least stressful. They even gave her a bath because she had an accident. We definitely found a new vet we trust.

Wasn’t going to leave a review but after some thought I feel it’s important. Second time at Rutherford giving them another chance with different management and a new dog, and this was my 3rd or 4th visit with no problems until now. I felt like everything was a money grab ($500+ for a blood panel, on top of the visit and vaccine fee).. I’ve paid a lot for annual vet visits but never that much to take blood, too. Questions I asked were looked over. My dog was horrified after this visit since they cut and traumatized his duclaw and because of this, he went #2 when it happened. Then a tech walked my dog out, who said she wasn’t there when it occurred, and told me the dog may have blood on him. I asked why, and was told from his vaccine. Looked down at the nail and it was bleeding. Yet the dr couldn’t come speak with me because she was with another patient... Will not be back. Ever.
