Where do I begin? If I could honestly give 0 stars I would. Initially, this practice was referred to me by my family dentist as she said they were more equipped to handle kids who needed work done. I initially went to them and the first few times the staff was friendly but I noticed that they seemed to charge an arm and a leg. My kids has cavities etc that needed to be filled and I noticed every time i made an appointment the staff would call me the day prior and give me an astronomical amount which was owed, though I had insurance, and say you owe this when you come in tomorrow. This happened a few times. One of the times, when I was in the waiting room, I heard one of the other parents complaining about the same thing. I asked the staff why are they always calling last minutes with financial responsibility and they stated that's when they hear back from the insurance. I asked for the EOB that the plan sent in and it was dated two weeks prior to them calling me to let me know what I owed. What made things much worse there was when I took my youngest, "A" who is 5. She had numerous cavities that needed to be filled so I took her for an exam and I was told she had 13 cavities, needed 3 silver caps, plus a root canal. I was given an EOB from them totaling close to 5k and was also told they would have to break the treatments up into 4 sessions and A would be given Midazolam every time to be put under. I was super surprised and uncomfortable with this as she had always been good with cleanings etc. The hygienist also said parents are not allowed in the room when children are under. I asked why that was and they said it upsets the parents. I told my husband and we spoke to our family dentist who referred us and she stated this did not seem right. I took A for another consult with Tender Smiles and this time asked to speak to the dentist about her being put under which they did not allow me to do so we did not move forward with the treatment there. Months went by and I decided to get a second opinion and found another practice that worked with my insurance. The staff their was super friendly and open. I told them about my experience with Tender Smiles and they were shocked. After A had her new consult I was told she definitely did not need to be put under, she did not need a root canal nor any silver caps. We recently finished all of her treatment with them, also done in four sessions. Tender Smiles had always charged me for nitrous saying it wasn't covered which I found out was also not true. I paid nothing other than my $50 deductible with the new practice. I shelled out hundreds of dollars every visit with Tender Smiles needlessly. They are not in the business of taking care of kids but in the business of ripping off desperate parents. I would never refer anyone to this practice and asked my family dentist not to do so anymore. Parents, if at any point your are uncomfortable with your child's care in any healthcare setting always seeks a second opinion. They were ready to put this child through unnecessary anesthesia 4 times without hesitation. The lack of morals and ethics are disgusting. Definitely avoid this place!!!

My daughters love coming here! We ended up moving over an hour away and still come here because they are so wonderful. This last visit I brought in my oldest and to save us a trip they made time to see my youngest too!!

This was our first time visiting this dental office and my daughter and I left happy. Everyone was kind, professional and patient. We did not have to wait long and we also didn’t feel like we were being rushed. Our dental hygienist Olivia was a true gem. Thank you all for such a wonderful experience!

We had the pleasure of working with Dr.Liya and Hygienist Diane. I just want to say that this is the 3rd time I come here and leave a review for this office ( all 5 stars btw ). I have a 6 year old daughter with autism and dentist trips aren’t always easy for any kids, especially mine. But this office just simply gives the best experience. Today we went in for two tooth extractions due to shark teeth growth and Dr Lyia and Diane brought so much sun on this Rainy day. They were absolutely amazing and made sure my daughter was calm and comfortable before proceeding with the procedure. They were fully understanding and patient and as a special needs mom that is so important. If you’re looking for a dentist for you child with or without special needs look no further and call for an appointment, not to mention how kind all the office staff is as-well. Super happy. Thank you Dr Liya and Diane. Kathleen Ramirez

Front receptionist is very rude. I beleive she is Spanish not sure. She is very bossy . She was not nice with my kid. I believe i am indian. She doesn't like indian kids. I am trying to change the docter for my kid. I felt racist behavior towards my kid Black girl is nice.

Appointments are available too many months apart causing cavities to worsen and emergency appointments are not available within your emergency timeframe. Also, the receptionists aren't very friendly. The dentist's care and concern for patients should be preventative dental care. However, in my experience, there was no urgency for my child's teeth.
