Always the best...since they came to town in the 1980s. I've been going here all my life. Thru life and death, love and heartbreak there is always Sukura Bana in my life. Get the extra fatty tuna if they have it. If you love food, sit at the Sushi bar. The chefs will sometimes make something special just for you.

The service is always amazing here, and the food is wonderful. We usually dine in as a family for special occasions like birthdays. If you're a group of 5 or more they prefer if you reserve first so keep that in mind. It is a smaller restaurant so if you do have a bigger group, it's best to go at an early time or weekdays.

I would classified this as a cozy, casual, very low key restaurant with very solid sushi. If you are looking for a glitzy date place, you probably want to go somewhere else. Been here a handful of times and will return for more. Found the specials, appetizers, and all sushi offerings to be consistent and fresh. You will want to make a reservation as this place is popular. Service has been equally consistent as the food - friendly and attentive. The bill will add up fairly quickly especially if you have healthy appetite. NJ really has a sad roster of sushi restaurant so being even slightly above average will make any restaurant stand out. This is an excellent sushi restaurant and would easily find its crowd in NYC. Only minor complaints are the sushi cuts can sometimes feel small and the rolls can sometimes be overpacked with rice. Please don't do the classic cost-cutting moves and maintain a high level and the people will continue to come.

The food quality is great at Sakura Bana. It's a fantastic restaurant, and my only gripe is the environment at dinner time - it's extremely cramped, to the point that the tables are jammed together and it's difficult to hold a conversation over the noise. We had to wait to be seated despite making a reservation. But due to the great sushi and other offerings, Sakura Bana could be a 5-star experience I'd you're not bothered by the busy environment.

Friendly staff and very nice decor. It's BYOB. Fresh sushi and different types of seafood assortment you cannot get at other sushi restaurants . No All you can eat . We got two rolls: tempura and salmon , eight and nine pieces respectfully. Along with two miso soup. $$$.

When you know, you know!!! Best sushi in Ridgewood. Fresh fish, affordable prices, and no added flavors to mask the quality. Just hands down, best of Ridgewood

Compared to other places we frequent, the food was just average. Service was horrible. We got our soup after my husband got his pork dish and was more than half finished. I got my sushi shortly after the time got the soup! Then we had to track down a bus boy to order dessert! Wish I knew it was BYOB..... could have used a drink!

Dining was Okay with traditionalsushi plates. Rrminded me of older family run places in rural Japan. With so many good sushi places around in Bergen County . I may need to go back 1 more time to see if my 1st experience wasn't typical.

This is by far my favorite sushi place in Northen NJ. The fish here is incredibly fresh, the sushi is delicious and never disappoints. There’s a reason why it’s always packed. I really want to highlight the Yellowtail Jalepeño appetizer (it’s not on the menu but they will make it if you ask for it!) - I’ve eaten it at so many places, and the one they make here is so incredible that I ordered two of them one time I came for dinner! Must try. The service is always great and food always impeccable. Highly highly recommend!

The appetizers were fresh, the vegetables, in the tempura we ordered, tasted like they had harvested them in the morning. They definitely move all of their stock out the door, and, cook with fresh ingredients. Means a lot. Also, if you prefer a dish to be slightly modified, they will work with you. If it's an expensive ingredient, they may ask for your understanding if they need to charge an extra dollar or two, however, they are willing to help you get the dining experience you are craving, is my point. Had a great time, last night, with family, so, thank you! 👍👍👍👍

Overall good food and selection and atmosphere is fine. We have gone to this restaurant a few times but it does not have a warm atmosphere and that may be because they are quite busy so it's mostly an eat and go type of place which is fine for many but not us. I find that cost is a bit high and quantity is small for the cost. An 8 piece sushi meal for about $20 is, in my opinion, NYC price and would pay higher price if I thought it was outstanding but it's pretty average and you can find equivalent in the area

Way overpriced but good. Haven't been in a couple yrs but something was up in the kitchen because we got our meal after people that sat down way after us. They new they messed up and offered edamame which I don't care for.

The service was good. Unfortunately, the food left a lot to be desired. We ordered chirashi, rolls , and sushi special. Chirashi was chewy and I spit out most of it. The rolls had a very thick layer of mushy rice that neither looked appetizing nor tasted well. The sushi special was really nothing special. It was a very disappointing experience.
