Spoke with Theresa at the front desk trying to obtain medical records and was given nothing but attitude and hostility. I was very clear with where I was calling from as well as my reason for calling, after explaining she rudely asked where I was calling from and the reason for my call, which elicited me to say "Well as I had just said..." and then was given nothing but a pompous and condescending attitude. The fax number on both the website and the phone tree is incorrect and I had asked a simple question which should have been responded with a simple answer. I can only assume that patients are not being actively listened to either. Ill be saving this fax number and requesting to speak with another team member in the future!

I started going to the family health centers in Asheville several years ago and the overall practice was okay. But now it has become a very unacceptable medical practice. Many of the staff and nurses are very rude and need some customer service training. When I started I was a patient of Dr linderman our doctor patient relationship was ok. Then it became a negative relationship and became obvious it appeared to me that Dr linderman is in this practice for the money and not the patient relationship. I would not recommend my worst enemy to that practice. Since leaving I have found an outstanding medical practice which now I am so glad I left Dr Lindeman and that practice.

Was charged over $150 for a letter from Dr. Lisa Scott that I successfully recovered from COVID-19. I was forced to have a tele-visit to receive doctors note to later find out that my insurance was billed for level 3 visit. Provider spent maybe 5 minutes on the phone asking me questions on what I need in the letter. Letter had one sentence with dates when I was diagnosed and recovered after 90 days. No compassion or understanding to reduce this fee after many calls to the practice. So disappointing...

Make sure to check your bill. They'll charge you and your insurance twice for one visit. Also make sure you don't let the doctor knock your mask off during a physical. If it falls on the ground they'll tell you it's fine. " You can't get covid from your mask falling on the floor" and then they'll tell you they don't have any surgical masks to replace it either. Just a absolute scam. Literally the worst doctors office I've ever been to. it use to be mediocre, it's fallen off really really bad in the past year or 2. Just be careful with this place.

Most incompetent drs office i have ever been to and god help you should you need to be seen immediately, it wont be by your primary physician. i got lucky enough to get a np that had never heard of the condition that i have, which has a 10% mortality rate if untreated. they somehow changed something pretty important on my chart. i am a male, they changed me to Female(born male) and somehow did not have my ultra important records from the past year anymore. she sent out an improper medication and too short of an antibiotic course. they will treat you like a hypochondriac for having legitimate concerns. i pay out of pocket and i explicitly told that np do not send any unnecessary labs out, i only need liver panel and thyroid done. she sent two generic blood panels and neither of the ones i asked for. do not trust this place with your health, they cant even keep their patient records in order and are apparently hiring only incompetent people.

I had two doctor visits in less than 24 hours with no resolution. During one of the visits, I was told about all of the medications that could be given if I tested positive for COVID, which I didn't have. On the second visit, I was told that I had to have the same issue for at least 7-10 days before antibiotics could be prescribed. I called the office Monday morning asking for a doctor's note and antibiotics because the pressure in my face was unbearable due to my sinuses that I could not work. I was told that someone would give me a callback before the end of the day. I called a little after 4 pm to follow up, I got the same lady I spoke with that morning. She told me that I would have to come in the morning to pick up the note because the office would be closing at 4:45 and there was no way for her to email it to me. I am now out of money for two doctor visits and time out of work when all of my concerns could have been addressed during the first visit.

Switching to another practice. This place has gone downhill tremendously since 2020. None of the doctors seem to care what you're there for and want you out asap. Several of my family members ( one of which has worked for doctors for years) have had bad experiences here in the last several months, and even says there are several doctors here who just don't care. Today I got a phone call from the doctor I just saw asking about if I had questions about the new medication he prescribed and I was not aware of any new medication! He then informed me that he called me earlier, and nobody from the practice had contacted me?? I won't give his name, but he clearly doesn't even know what he's talking about!

My billing has been wrong since at least the beginning of the year even though I have supplied all the correct information and make a payment over my copay every visit without complaint for months. When I spoke with billing office months ago I was told to “take it up with my insurance” where I uncovered I was billed towards my deductible inaccurately. At check out Kristen would not allow me to finish my sentences or questions without saying sharply saying “okay” “okay” “okay” ina high toned pitch while I was trying to sort out the issue and understand all the internal paperwork I was provided and didn’t understand, wasn’t explained. She became more and more unwilling to listen and accused me of being aggressive and said I needed to calm down even though there were other people within ear shot who could vouch I was simply trying to ascertain information. I told her I didn’t receive a bill and would like to see one and she said she would look into it. I asked her if I needed to stay for that and she sharply answered “yes you need to be here, I need to verify you address” which I already had done and was in the paperwork she handed me. I asked if someone else could assist me and she curtly said “I’m almost done”. Someone who works as a receptionist for a drs office should be equipped with the people skills it takes to listen, be courteous and find a solution in kindness rather than running over the patients who may be there to be seen for a medical condition her rigid behavior may aggravate.

1st in person appointment with Dr. Megan Thomas. Front staff were welcoming. Her nurse Lynn was professional and personable. Dr. Thomas asked questions and listened to me. She seems fantastic! X-ray tech Nancy was lovely and we had great conversation. Feel great about establishing care here!!

Somehow the billing department can’t seem to get it together. I have got calls over my card and yet I called my card company there’s no problem within my card and I called my banking again no thing wrong with my card .and on top of that I have all bills and medical bill on a automatic draft. And it’s funny all My bills are all Paid from Thursday until today and I still plenty of money in my bank account… funny I have two medical bills beside Family health center that billed me Friday and Monday and they are having no issues with my card . To the people who are working in the billing department it’s not my card that’s a issue so maybe you should look into that because I did and there’s no issues on my end . And because the billing department is contacting me way more then they should be about my auto draft I will No longer be coming there . This place is so bad when deal with the billing department. You have lost a good customer and I give this place 2 stars max!!!!

Mediocre health care comparable to healthcare in underdeveloped countries. . Staff is not friendly and not helpful. Only had a Covid test and flu test in my car, was never examined by a physician and billed over $400. Fraud was committed!

I had previously selected this Health Center and chosen Dr. Hendry as our chosen doctor within my Etna insurance network. I had already received new medical cards showing our chosen provider. However, upon calling to book an appointment in early March 2023 and establish myself as a new patient to address an urgent health concern, I was notified that they are not currently taking new patients. When I selected this provider in January 2023 there was no notification that this office and/or Dr. Hendry was not receiving new patients.

I have had great experiences dealing with Dr Goldie and PA Laurie Panzer over the last twenty years. They are very knowledgeable in all general areas and are very compassionate and caring towards their patients.

Dr. Midkiff and all of the other doctors I’ve seen here are awesome! Haven’t had an issue in over 2 years of coming here! Also, if you hate having blood drawn like I do, the people who draw blood for labs are great! (I had Lynn today and I told her that was the easiest blood draw in my life!

Absolutely the worst practice ever. Minus stars. Rude, ignorant incompetent. The doctors are just in it for the money n don't care about their patients. After 5 years of going there Dr Midriff never even had my medical records transferred from my previous doctor. Go anywhere else.

Best MD over twelve years of care! If Dr Thomas can not help me, there are other Docs that can!

I absolutely love FHC! I’ve been to many doctors' offices over the years and they are by far the kindest, hard working, professional, and caring practice I have visited. Everyone I have been in contact with truly put their patients first. Dr. Thomas is amazing. She is quick and straight to the point while caring about my issues; the nursing staff is very kind and helpful, and the lab staff is swift and caring. The lab staff will also talk and take care of the patients as if they are a part of their family (all of FHC Asheville does). I enjoy going to FHC Asheville Downtown and will continue going! HIGHLY RECOMMEND!

I’m really not sure why everyone I spoke to on the phone is so rude. The scheduling desk. The nurse who hung up on me when I asked when my prescription expires.
