I was so excited to see on YouTube a person that could do a sew in where you can wear your hair up in a ponytail or multiple positions. I decided to fly to Cleveland, rent a car and hotel room to get my hair done. I made my appointment one month in advance because I did not live in Cleveland where the salon is located and the owner who was to do my hair works only Thursday, Fridays and Saturdays at this location. Before my appointment I was called and asked to reschedule because the lady doing my hair wasn't going to be there on the day I had my first appointment. This should have been my first indication to cancel and not spend as much money as I did to get my hair fixed in Cleveland. I reschedule not just once but twice although the second time was me. The salon is nice I watched many beautiful hairstyles walk out the door including hairstyles by the person who did my hair. We consulted on what I wanted and if it was doable. She said she could not give me the vixen sew-in however a sew-in to put my hair in a ponytail which she did but it is very sloppy. The weave does not lay down and my hair barely covers it. I just wish when she saw the process not going as the picture I showed her we could have went in a better direction. $290 down the drain plus travel. I can not remember the last time I was so disappointed with my hair.

Love my stylist April she is very good at what she does! I have never had my hair styled by the owner, but I've seen her make her clients look amazing. I do however, enjoy her online tutorials, she is quite entertaining and responds to questions timely!

Took my daughter and her best friend there for a last minute silk press. And the staff was very professional. They were in and out as if they had scheduled appointments. Both girls hair looked really nice. This is the go to salon for all hair needs.

Best place to get your hair done in the city! And they throw a hell of a party for the 20th anniversary! Major talent in one building! Ladies always nice to me complimenting my hair. My hair is very well taken care of my stylist is always understanding and nice!

I relocated to Ohio (Copley area) two years ago and my desperate search for a hairstylist to maintain my teen daughter thick head of hair was on… Well I was fortunate enough to come across headlines via the web, which had the atmosphere and vibe along with a bunch of Black folk that made me proud to patronize. I made an appointment through Ray with Brittany to get my daughters hair braided. She did an amazing job, her assistant washed and Brittany braided. Finally the pressure was off of me. After three braiding sessions, we had a fourth appointment and to my dismay Brittany was no longer there and I was left with a head that needed braiding and no stylist. Well, Ray to the rescue, she was able to get me in with Asia in two days. Asia was an absolute dream come true, she was very personable with my daughter and made her feel so comfortable. She went on to braid her hair on two more occasions. Now it’s time for my daughters hair to be re-braided and there is no more Asia and no more Ray to help me. I am so so sorry that Asia is gone whether it was by choice or by request I don’t know but if there is even the slightest possibility of her return, I see that as a positive for the salon. Her rapport with my daughter was excellent and I would assume it is the same with most younger clients. From my experience with Asia if I had a nice hair salon such as Headlines… I would want someone like Asia on my team that works so well with younger clients. My daughter and I are sad that she is gone and we hope that she finds her way back because we would surely find our way back and this 3 star rating would change to five stars.

An emergency came up with one of the stylist and they were unable to do my daughter’s hair. I was leaving for out of town the next day so rescheduling was not an option. Meechie saw how sad my daughter was and actually did her hair although she was completely booked. She didn’t not have to but she did. It meant a lot to me as well as my daughter that the owner who was busy cared enough to step in and save the day. That ended up being my daughter’s favorite hair style that she refers back to to this day. I love the salon and my stylist Donna Gibson who keeps my hair healthy and fresh. I have also gone to some of the other stylist in the salon and they are great also. You are in good hands no matter what chair you sit in at Headlines by DeFranco ❤️

Never been here but based on another review I’m looking forward to setting an appointment. I like that the owner is trying to maintain a level of peace in the shop by having a no-child policy. There are kid friendly salons in the city, glad this ain’t one of em. See you soon.

The stylist Dymond wasn’t great. She made rude comments during my appointment—which I ignored, was over an hour late, didn’t do the style that I asked and then when I left the salon my hair began reverting immediately. Within 20 minutes. I let her know this as soon as it happened, but she showed no concern nor did she offer to help resolve the issue other than suggesting me to wrap it up. She stated she couldn’t help me because once I’m “out of her chair”, the service is over and it was my hairs fault that it reverted, even though no water or sweat touched it. Lol. We communicated through text for a while until she blocked me. I paid $100 including tip for the style. When she told me she was an hour behind, I let her know that it was okay and asked her what time she’d like me to come. On her booking site she charges a $15 fee if you’re late for 15 minutes yet when I got there on time she was still doing someone’s hair. Did she take money off of my balance? Nope. I tipped her to make her day better but, you just can’t be nice to some people. Photos included of my hair beginning to revert immediately after, and then the morning of. Note that it was 7-8pm, so it was 30-40 degrees outside. No sun, and definitely not the weather to break a sweat.
