Beautiful park. We're from Michigan and love nature parks. There are plenty of trails to explore. We saw several deer and there is a building for bird watching also. Several water features and a river walk. A park for the kids to play and several areas with grills and picnic tables. Highly recommend 💚💯💯

I love Toledo's Metroparks. Sidecar is a hidden gem, and the water views, the Old Erie Canal, and the steps make it extra special. The restrooms are very clean with a nice porch with tables on the side to sit and birdwatch! Dog friendly as well and several picnic sites noted.

Beautiful park, nice creek you can dip in. Even saw a few people fishing! Playgrounds are well kept, this place is great for a family walk, picnic, or full on barbecue with friends. We will be returning soon.

I absolutely adore this metropark. Lovely walking paths during the spring, summer, fall, and winter along the water. There are so many spots for picnicking, bird watching, relaxing, and fishing. My favorite though is the hill for sledding - very fun! I highly recommend checking out this metropark - you won't regret it! I will continue to add pictures from various excursions throughout the year.

I have photographed weddings and engagement sessions at Sidecut and it is easily one of my favorite places! It's amazing in the spring and summer but it also really comes to life in the fall for photos as well! It's great for sunrise and also sunset and even a little after. There are beautiful spots for ceremonies and just as beautiful of spots for portraits. I highly recommend Side Cut Metropark for a part of your wedding!

Beautiful park along the Maumee River. The trails are well taken care of, nice playground and pavilion. Several grilling stations also. The new concrete pathway along the river is so nice for strollers, etc.

So many great things to say about this park. Big playground, nice bathrooms, drinking fountains, lots of picnic tables, and beautiful trails. They have short trails which are paved for strollers and water views. Easy trails for older and younger adventures. The locks and bridges are breathtaking. This is a must see.

Really well maintained walkways and trails and plenty of signage. The wildlife window on the canal locks trail is a unique and thoughtful touch. I'll definitely be back!

Really nice park! My favorite is south down the river a ways, down river road, there's a fishing spot where you can walk out onto the sprawling rocks. There's like pools of water and small Rapids. Very beautiful and fun to collect rocks and flowers.

One of me and my kids' top favorite Metropark. There's many different paths through Sidecut's beautiful woods and meadows, they are visibly marked & easy to follow and there are sturdy benches along the way. Near the entrance/parking lot there's a large children's playground, picnic tables and very clean restrooms near the entrance. I respect the fact that Sidecut park is being kept up so beautifully..maybe one day my children's children will come here to enjoy nature's beauty. Enjoy! :)

Was here for a friend's grad party, and the location was easy to find, beautiful scenery, and nice facilities to host events. The building we were in had a nice wildlife viewing area with a binder to identify the various birds at the feeders, a kitchen, and bathrooms attached to the building.

As president of the American Canal Society, my interest in the Side Cut Metropark is purely canal related. These locks remain from a connection to the Miami and Erie Canal that once had its northern terminus in Toledo. As most of the main line canal in the city area has been built over, these locks help to tell the story of the long gone canal. The locks remain in remarkably good condition and have been nicely incorporated into the landscape of the park. Trails make the four locks very accessible and they are well interpreted. There was no fee to use the very busy park.

They have a great park for children. Different areas to fish one even has a fireplace in a roof with a picnic table. When the water is low you can cross over to the island my kids love exploring over there.

Absolutely beautiful metro park!!! Paved trails for easy walking. Plenty of places to stop and take in the beautiful surroundings. Placks on most of the different types of trees. The locks are very awesome to see as well. There seems to be several different places to go visit here and I suggest you take a day and see it all!!

There are so many places to explore, and it's hard to say that one certain area is my favorite. During this visit, I decided to be away and find a bit of solitude. I found a spot located between the canal and the sled hill. It had a little grill for cooking and was perfect. What a blessing. Thank you to the hard-working staff, volunteers, and contributions that make these moments possible.

10 stars!! My 1st time to this beautiful park and it definitely didn't disappoint! The trails are really nice, the views by the river are beautiful, and the people at the park were the friendliest I have met at all the parks :)) I will definitely be coming back!!

Decent playground equipment and clean bathroom. There are lots of spots to sit or bbq and trails that are pretty smooth but not all are paved. There are trails that cut through so you can decide how far you want to go, and it forms a big circle pretty much. Right along the river or through the wooded area, you can go the long way around or cut through for a shorter route. Right by the river!

Love this park!! Always fun with the family or alone! Lots of trails and paths to walk down and explore. Gorgeous views of the river and other areas along the area! Amazing encounters with wildlife almost every time! Also a fantastic place to fish with all kinds of different species inhabiting the river and streams nearby!

My dog and I have explored the beaten and unbeaten paths throughout the Side Cut MetroPark and have enjoyed it in every season. It is always a pleasure to see the various wildlife and enjoy the water and forest views. Today I headed up a booth at the Sidecut Park Outdoor Expo and I have to say that I was impressed by how well the event was organized and maintained.

Definitely my favorite stop when we were in town. The stonework near the channel locks is beautiful and inviting. Plenty of walking trail. Cool little building where you can sit and watch the birds.

I love Sidecut so much! It's so beautiful and peaceful. You can see lots of wildlife throughout the park. I do think they should post signs warning people of the Poison Hemlock along many parts of the trail, as it is very harmful to pets and humans if ingested.

So many memories renewed at this beautiful park. Love the variety of steps that lead to unknown paths and you see rare animals in their natural habitat. The canal history is saved for future generations.

I have been here multiple times. The park and playground are always clean and well-maintained. The trail beside the river is nice to walk along. Although I have never utilized them, the rentable shelters look great and seem to have adequate space for serving food.

My most treasured spot in the Toledo metro area. I've been venturing to this park for the last 10 years so it has become my second home. From daily walks, rollerblading, cruising through in my Sonic or peaceful, relaxing mornings/evenings on a swing...I've never had a bad experience here. The staff members are always so friendly and do a wonderful job at keep the facilities & property clean. This area has become such a important part of my daily life I don't think any park could ever replace it :)
