Delapre
is
a
large
estate
that
is
publicly
owned.
The
main
abbey
has
recently
been
renovated,
including
the
stonework.
There
is
a
small
coffee
shop
for
ramblers
and
dog
walkers,
a
larger
cafe,
the
Orangery
that
has
a
good
range
of
menu
based
dishes.
The
separate
restaurant,
Hibiscus
is
only
open
in
the
evening,
please
check
timing
and
dates.
There
is
also
plenty
of
space
to
walk,
with
a
large
wood
and
a
lake
at
the
eastern
edge
of
the
estate.
The
walled
garden
behind
the
abbey
is
typically
well
tended
with
flowers
and
a
variety
of
plants,
late
spring
through
the
summer.
More
recently
beehives
have
been
introduced
to
enhance
the
ecosystem.
If
youβre
prepared
with
a
stout
pair
of
boots
to
investigate,
the
whole
area
is
quite
extensive.
Parking
is
free,
and
itβs
a
great
place
to
roam
for
couples
and
families.
