I was sitting in my hotel room about to order some exorbitantly expensive delivery which forced me to explore outside. Somehow I found myself in Queensway Market an odd place full of electronic stores and small eateries. I was actually looking for another restaruarnt when I stumbled across Abu Maher. I ate there back to back for two nights. Food, presentation, value and service was simply super. I'm a hummus fiend and eat it most days of the week. Abu Maher's is the best I've including comparisons to eateries in the Middle East. Additiinally they are nice, warm people. They care about their guests as much as their food. Have fun finding Abu Maher. It's worth it.

This is the best restaurant I have been too. It was my first time trying Syrian food and the dishes were INCREDIBLE. Amazing and delicious. The chicken curry is tasty, light and with beautiful presentation. The grilled chicken is very tender and delicious. The cheese and spinach pastries were great. All the food is cooked fresh from scratch on the spot. The owner is so friendly and is always smiling. Wow!!!

Mr. Abu Maher is kind and hospitable. The service is very quick. He prepares the food by himself. We ordered a plate of molokhia with rice and a plate of freekeh with chicken which both I highly recommend. In addition, I ordered a half grilled chicken with rice, and it was good. The place is cozy, and is not located on the main street, but inside Queensway market. Anyway, everything was just perfect including the food, presentation, value and the service.

I am a regular customer to Queensway Market, and finallt I had my first-time Syrian food experience. This lovely home-like place didnโ€™t let me down at all! My friend and I ordered several fishes, and we were super impressed by the smoothness of the hommus and the tenderness of the slow-cooked lamb with yogurt sauce. The rice was the highlight, we were genuinely surprised at the enormous amount of saffron inside it. The owner was incredibly kind to show us his saffron, and he was so hospitable that he offered us with a plate of aromatic Syrian dessert. The most important thing is that we sense his passion for his culture in every dish. It was a very pleasant dining experience. We hope to come back again with our friends!

What a gem in Queensway market. I had the chicken and the aubergine dip, both fantastic. The chicken was one of the best chicken dishes Iโ€™ve had in my life. It fell right off the bone and was moist and came with saffron rice and a saffron based sauce. The owner has a great story too. He is Syrian and had his own restaurant in Syria before the war, and recently opened up this spot to keep himself busy. Heโ€™s kind and runs the restaurant mostly by himself, which was no issue since I came for lunch at an odd but quiet time. Portions are generous (I had leftovers packed for takeaway) and pricing is fair. Iโ€™ll be back to try the rest of the menu.

If you get there at 12 noon and the door's locked, don't fear. Just call the number on the menu and the kind chef will run down and open shop for you. When we visited it was just him in the kitchen, so you can't expect the food to be served instantly, but it's well worth the wait. Every dish was made with such love. The hummus was incredibly silky and served with warm flatbreads. We had a creamy lamb dish - how does one get lamb that tender? The saffron chicken and rice stays in my head till today, sizzling, crispy and so juicy. Halfway through we needed some greens and ordered the salad, and the chef produced a beautiful chopped salad with pomegranate seeds and three colours of peppers. If you are in need of some warmth and loving in London come here and eat.

I had a really lovely evening with friends at Abu Mayer in Queensway. Food was so delicious and it was very reasonably priced. All home cooked and very well presented. We all left very happy and full! Its a quiet place but the owner is very welcoming you immediately make your table feel comfortable and at home. I'll definitely be back and recommend anyone to pop in for lunch or dinner. Thank you so much ๐Ÿ™

Slowest service ever. I get it. You have a small family run restaurant. Was waiting for ages to be seated when some body had cleared a table. The older guy was just ignoring me as if I didnโ€™t exist. I had to go to the desk and say, can I sit there to the younger guy. Chaotic service. No order of food coming to you. Like one thing arrives, itโ€™s accompanying or complementary thing missing entirely. In the end I was so annoyed I left without getting one whole dish I had paid for. The salad I think. Asked multiple times. The dish I did have was some mild chicken curry dish. Tbh I wish the place the best but they have terrible organisation. No system or process. There is love in the food and presentation which is why I gave it 3 starts. But it drops 2 stars one for bad system/process and lateness of food and actually ignoring I was there tbh. The place is inside some small maze of a shopping centre. Zero reception inside also. Be mindful.

Cute, no-frills Syrian restaurant with a very kind owner. We ordered an array of starters and mains to share, and while the food was good, I did feel like it didn't live up to my expectations given the really high ratings. Maybe we didn't order the best dishes - I did see lots of Arab families dining there so assume that the food is good and authentic! Would come back and try some other dishes next time.

Abu Maher is a true gem nestled inside a small shopping mall alley. The food is fresh, authentic, and always served with a smile. Abu Maher and his staff show wonderful hospitality and serve delicious Syrian cuisine in a family-like atmosphere.

This place is delicious! It is not in an easy to find spot and we actually stumbled upon it looking for something else, but we are so glad we stopped in! The food was freshly made, which means it did take time, but if you are not in a rush and want to relax while waiting for you for this is the place to go! (Wne bottle on photo was not served to us; we brought it in)

This was the second time we have been here, definitely a hidden gem. In terms of dishes, I would highly recommend the Shakeria as the star dish. The lamb was so tender, and beautiful in the yoghurt sauce. The chicken curry was good too, (the best curry we have had since coming to London so far). Lastly, don't forget to order the hummus as a starter, it's just amazing. We had a Konafa which was an interesting dish to try and great as a dessert. Will definitely be back for sure!
