Booked two nights paid upfront, left after one. Should be advertised as a hostel, people having relations, arguing and doors banging to early hours. Asked for one night refund was told no, they put down we were a no show and pocketed the money. Asked bookings.com for a refund and they have lied and said we didn't pay. Really disappointed with them as they came across well. No heating in room, smell of mould, no t.v.s, awful showers as little pressure and luke warm and the bathroom was soaked. I slipped and hit my head let them know it wasn't for us. I genuinely never write a bad review. I'm gutted to say it wasn't for us, more gutted at their blatant dishonesty stating we hadn't paid. We are honest trustworthy people and you lying is just wrong. In future if someone isn't happy don't fob off with excuses, I'm so polite that I can't be forceful. Lying to bookings.com is a disgrace and I won't be lied about.

Most horrible experience I ever had, place was cold, room temperature was about 14 degrees, if you need a shower you must be prepared to have it in near outside temperatures.owners going around 9pm and switching off lights in hallway and dining area, so if you will need a toilet better prepare yourself with torch. I am not talking about emergency, you,you will be running around in total darkness and without a clue where to run! There is one tiny fridge in hotel, food regularly disappeared from there's well. Avoid avoid avoid!!!

Disliked Β· I have stayed in this place before, 2 years ago on more than one occasion and got to know the owners - Dean and Gemma - personally. This was in depth of pandemic and business was slow. This used to be an oasis for people looking for peace, calm and tranquil place to stay to reconnect with one’s self and beautiful nature around. My last stay - one night - was as if this was completely different place run by someone else. The staff was not present when very rowdy and drunk group of guests causing problems were threatening us. We were told either to call police or go if we don’t like it. People were leaving in the middle of the night or lock themselves in their rooms. No one slept. The owners/staff eventually spoke to us us via phone and cameras (yes they have cameras installed around communal areas everywhere but you are not told). Forget customer service, just plane rudeness and verbal attacks on me and other guests rather than admitting they should have someone there to deal with the antisocial behaviour or better still not to let situation like this to happen in the first place. Utterly shocking experience from place I used to call home away from home. It’s very sad to see one very special place to lose itself and go down the drain in favour of fleeing profit. In addition - do not pay cash to them no matter how much they try to convince you! Always pay by card or some traceable means of payment and book via major platform!

I was visiting the area and wanted somewhere cheap to rest my head. I found this place through booking.com, I wasn’t impressed with the reviews but I was totally shocked. Jemma is a fabulous and welcoming host, she really made me feel welcome and at home. My room was basic but warm, clean and the bed was incredibly comfortable. The bathroom facilities were about 10 steps away and were again clean and warm. I spent my evenings reading with my feet up in the lounge with a glass of wine. The children on site are helpful, engaging and polite. They too are welcoming and respectful as well as being entertaining (especially the youngest) I have not stopped telling people about this unique gem of a place. I am returning In august for a relaxing weekend in the sunshine (I hope) I have been to 5* spas and not come away feeling this way and all for Β£30 a night. Can’t recommend enough

This one of best places I have been. It's simple and basic but that makes it the perfect setting for life changing experiences. I attended a 1 week retreat that was absolutely incredible. I met incredible people that I feel will be life long friends and that's including the couple, Jemma and Dean, that run the place. They are so welcoming, kind and loving. The food and surroundings are unforgettable. Thank you so much πŸ™β€οΈ

Very friendly staff /guests and clean premises, a few pubs and walking trails nearby, ask for info. A lot of rooms have front and back doors with keys provided, adequate central heating. Wifi, free parking and other activities available too. Wish we could have stayed longer. I can only say good things about this location.

Nice quiet spot but toilets bit untidy and WiFi passwords not working. No soap in the toilets and we only received 2 towels although we stayed 2 nights. Also, breakfast not provided, meaning we had to hunt for a place to eat in the morning, further delaying out hike.
