Tunnel Schee

Tourist attraction

👍👍 The Schee Tunnel is a former railway tunnel on the “coal railway” from Hattingen to Wuppertal. Today the route is used as a cycle path and footpath. The tunnel is paved but justifiably poorly lit. The parallel and unusable second tunnel tube is home to a remarkable variety of different bat species.... People often mention tunnel, Tunnel, Wuppertal, Schee, Nordbahntrasse, route,

A hike, starting point is Gudrunstr. with the destination Tunnel Schee through the Nordbahn route. Great impressions to snap for my picture collection e.g. B. Sayings that concern us all. Overall, this hike was once again a wonderful experience! This tour is also recommended for cyclists. 02/23/22 Walked through this tunnel on the way back today. It was very interesting because there is also a small waterfall in front of the entrance.

A tunnel on the cycle path through which the border between Westphalia and the Rhineland runs. Great, over 700 meters long

For cyclists it is an experience to ride through the former long railway tunnel. There are bats here too. In the middle of the city limits between Wuppertal and Sprockhövel.

The tunnel is almost 800m long, easy to drive but a bit cold and damp. The access road to the tunnel is scenic.

It is a very interesting experience to drive through such a tunnel. The length is 722 meters almost underground. The lighting of the tunnel is more or less normal, but according to German law the bike must also be equipped with lights. There is a sign in front of the entrance with the requirement to turn on the lights. It's a pity that the tunnel is also used by pedestrians, they don't have any lights or reflectors, so you should be careful. It is quite cool in the tunnel, and water is dripping from above. But the impressions are still very interesting.

Very exciting experience. This cool and wet climate I originally only knew from visiting old mines but here you can get this below-ground atmosphere while on a hike or cycling.

It's always nice and liberating, no matter what the weather, afterwards you're tired and exhausted, but recovered and your head is clear đź‘Ť Corkscrew and Northern Railway route! Splendid !

(Translated by Google) The longest tunnel on the Wuppertal Nordbahntrasse. The Wuppertal Nordbahntrasse runs from Vowinkel to Niedergebreck on an old railway track across the entire city. The Tunel Schee then connects Wuppertal with Sprockövel.

Lohnt sich immer wieder hier her.

A piece of nature at its finest with a historic long and cold tunnel. This is currently a welcome “cooling down” in midsummer. For me one of the most beautiful buildings on the route.
