Admission is 3.50 including earphones for multimedia, which you can keep and if there are few visitors, you get a free coffee. Friendly staff and a very nice museum on 2 floors plus an event room with a large stage and curtain. All of this is very well maintained, architecture with lots of glass, light-flooded rooms and great information films that you can tap into at information columns as needed, great! 😊👍

I had expected a bit more of the ‘German Tools’; I think Germany was quite sophisticated in their technology during two wars - apart from the wrong intentions that Innovation can be proudly shown in a museum. In here I did see some drills, turning lathes and a box of 17mm wrenches.

So today l was like in over 5000 BC up to today. The beginning of industrialisation, its evolvement and development. I am a champion for rural industrialization in Africa and today my eyes are more open. Without industrialization there is no development. This is the place to spent your Sunday. I loved this place.

Very nice little museum. The staff is very friendly. The tools on display are well explained. You can also try out some tools. This museum is an enrichment for the Bergisches Land.

For a small town, this is a wonderful museum. There are a lot of exhibits, a lot you can touch and twirl. Admission is 3.50, you can take your headphones with you. There was no coffee provided. Minus - descriptions everywhere are only in German. English is not enough.

I really like the way German people create their museums. This one is no exception. In here you can see a very long history of transport vehicles, their technical data, users and how they did impact their region and society. Safety, efficiency, comfort, downsides, upsides and side effects of transport are documented here. From bikes to high speed trains are here to be seen. There is an ICE locomotive on display but I could not board the cockpit, it was closed but it seems that Is usually open to public. You can board very old trains as if they were on service, mail trains, cars, trucks, buses and logistics service vehicles. Usually every vehicle in display has its technical data, very nice for nerds and engineers (like me). There is an area of the museum focused in learning mechanical principles used in transport vehicles where you can play with didactic models such as electric and friction brakes, clutches, transmission, fluids science on transmisions, steering, among others. I saw a MAN truck on display with its mobile parts explained and cutted so you can see how it works. No wonder why German children get interested in engineering (boys and girls alike) and grow to be so incredibly competent. Because, in every museum, technical details are didactic and easily explained. Sciences in general are nearly explained in every museum. I think that makes their young and children to become good scientists, engineers and technicians. As a personal note I think, that Audis motto can be said for all of Germany: "Vorsprung Durch Technik" (leadership through technology). And that is thanks to places like this.

Sehr informativ.

The museum gives a nice insight into the production of tools from the Bronze Age to the present day. It was interesting to see the effort that went into making files, for example. The exhibits on display are beautifully presented.

Great museum, good insight into the production of tools from the Bronze Age to today, very interesting exhibition. And once a month there are delicious, large, good waffles.

For us, the visit was an embarrassment because we still needed something to do on the day. We were the only visitors at lunchtime. Admission is okay at 3.50. But overall the exhibition is very “special”... I occasionally did some craft work and got bored very quickly. If you have no affinity for the topic at all, you won't get it in this museum. We didn't run through and were there for about 1.5 hours. The staff is friendly. You get a coffee for €1.50 and it was the first time that I didn't see stuffed animals in a museum shop, but saw quality tools. The design is modern, you can access a lot of audio and videos at certain terminals, the earphones for this are included in the admission price. Every now and then you can try something out and everything is clean and tidy. No dusty display cases or anything like that. The parking situation is a bit tense. Conditionally recommended because it's rather boring.

Through changing exhibitions and events, the tool museum is a place for the industrial history of the Bergisches Land and a place for encounters. The historical center also includes the Cleff House (currently being restored) and the city archive, which is approx. 100m away. A visit to the city archives is also recommended; Remscheid's city history can be touched.

Remscheid is known for good tool manufacturing. A visit to the museum is worth looking at the history of the tools. It's a great event.

Einfach traurig!

(Translated by Google) Very friendly reception with interesting tools and machines. The explanations could be a little better. In some showcases they were completely missing. The children were therefore not so enthusiastic about everything. It could be a little more alive. You should book a guided tour, otherwise the children could get bored.

(Translated by Google) Nice little museum about the history and development of tools Actually a must for every trainee in tool-technical professions. When you enter, you get a set of headphones (which you can then take home with you) with which you can find out more about the exhibits and the history at the appropriate terminals. I found it very interesting. Danke
