We came for a long weekend as a Family of 4 and we stayed in the Family room. It was fab. 2 single beds for the kids and through a wall that separated us from the kids a double bed with own telly as well. :) The staff was exceptional. Very helpful, friendly and at all times efficient. Next time we are in Soling we will definitely come and stay again.

Service not what we expected, new manager appears to have started this week. For a four star hotel was a little tired, coffee machine in room would have been good Travelodge have managed it! Breakfast selection superb. Some basic errors had been made with our booking. Easily resolved once manager was called. Hotel not in the least disabled friendly. Surprisingly very small single rooms. No fans despite intense heat. Overall very disappointing. No where in the hotel to have a drink in the evening.

The best breakfest I ever had in the hotel. Rooms are really nice. Really beautiful view, best part of Solingen, the architecture around the hotel is stunning.

There is no air conditioning in any of their rooms, in any of their buildings (main building and the old post building). Nice, quiet location with enough dining options. Breakfast buffet is also just OK. Good quality but basic selection.

Very friendly staff. Room was extremely large for the price. We were housed not in the main hotel building, but an adjacent guest house. This was an old building, with the downside of having barely any soundproofing. Our ground floor room had a window to the street and was right next to the house's main door, which closes quite loudly (unless guests coming and going late at night take the time to close the door slowly). It did not bother me for the one night we stayed there, but it might get annoying for longer stays. Breakfast had everything you would expect.

I would give this 3 stars as a business hotel. It seems like it would be a nice get-away destination. Staff is outstanding and polite.

Terrible room We really felt uncomfortable and would have rather had a clean 1 star hotel with WC outside the room : There was only a totally transparent glass to separate the bathroom - and the WC was almost in front of the bed. You could stay in the bed, watch TV and in the meantime enjoy the show of people using the toilets. The position of the bathroom is also nicely aligned with the window so that the neighboors can also enjoy the show. In case you sit at the study in the other corner of the room, you don't have to miss anything : there is a mirror right in front of the bathroom to cover this angle. No way to get any privacy. I don't know how other people feel about it - maybe for some it's no issue- but we were shocked. I looked for accomodations outside the room but appart from the ground floor... We had to give each other some "courtesy time" by going out of the room for a while when needed. It was really a pain and a crappy stay. The staff was professional but God the room was a disaster. Hopefully we only stayed for one night - I would have moved the next day anyway to any other ***hotels around. I believe, room have a decent layout there.

Super hotel, both for business and pleasure. We’re staying at Graefraterhof with a team of 4 people for about half a year to work on a client project, and are very happy with the hotel. Strong points: the restaurant serves excellent breakfast and dinner, including some good, fresh risotto and salads at affordable prices. We’re working on client site without cantine, and Graefraterhof was friendly enough to provide us with paper bags so we can bring some buns for lunch. Service is very good, the team really works together as one to make you feel at home. Which, considering we stay here more nights per week than we stay at home, is important. You can see the team works together as a well-oiled machine – with a genuine smile. Rooms are quiet, dark and with comfy beds. We also use the conference room services (often in the library), equipped with beamer, flip charts, etc., and with food served on the big tables. Very convenient for internal discussions. The prices are very reasonable too, especially if you’re staying for longer and can come to an agreed price. All in all a hotel work making a detour for, even on a daily basis. Only downside is the internet, which is due for a revamp (finished by end of september 2015)

Nice hotel and good food and service, but come on guys let's figure out how to get your internet working. Nothing more frustrating than a business hotel without functional internet access.

A guest of mine stayed there for a couple of days and said he was absolutely in love with this iconic hotel. It is perfect for visitors who want a brief stay.

Our room was not at the same building as the reception and at night time I didn’t find it initially the entrance. Other than that, all was nice and good. Parking was next to the building! Convenient! Hot shower, removable shower head which was a plus, great breakfast, and serene surroundings in the morning time where a walk around is suggested!
