It's a pricey but ultimately worth it museum if you like to learn the science behind glass as well as see some nice art installations. 50 rmb for general admission and 50 rmb for the special exhibit. We'll worth the money IMO. The BRKN special exhibit is very well curated. Each installation has an accompanying song (accessed using a QR code). The general admission isn't too shabby either. Take a cab from the subway stop. Walking would take way too long.

I've visited the museum several times, as I live in Shanghai, and it was always a great experience - the museum and the exhibition design are exquisite. The information is really well presented, with both English and Chinese texts, easy to grasp for adults and children. It's a great place for families with children: DIY and craft workshops, glass blowing demonstrations and a new museum that is dedicated to children: Kids Museum of Glass. I'd reckon it's one of the best museums in Shanghai, and the world. Well worth the trip to Baoshan. Tip: Do visit the space they have for glass design exhibitions - Keep it Glassy - big designer names are on show and the set-up is impressive.

The museum have a fantastic exterior, contains a lot of modern glass pieces, have two cafeterias, and have a show showing how to make glass. The show makes it 4 stars, otherwise some parts of the museum are sort of empty, or full of glass art with no history. The shop is good though, have things in glass you cant buy otherwise. Anders

An amazing place, one of the best museums and exhibitions I've seen in the world, not only in Shanghai! They recently opened the Kids Museum of Glass - a kaleidoscopic and colourful experience for children - and it's also highly interactive. It's easy to spend a whole day here and not get bored for a bit.

The great one museum in Shanghai that must visit, its location is out from the downtown city but not too much far. The museum give much information about the glass - from early history to the present used of glass in many meanings as decorations, pieces of art, furniture as well. There's usually have the demonstration of making glass and DIY workshop for children and visitors, awesome place.

It's a perfect place for adults and children to spend their weekend. Here you can get an overview of how glass is produced in nature and the history of glass making by humans. Glass art from all over the world is on display in a number of galleries. All descriptions of the exhibits are in both Chinese and English. You need to buy tickets at the entrance. There is also a theatre next to the main building for kids to have fun and a shop which sells all kinds of glass products.

(Translated by Google) The space inside the pavilion is designed in a normal way. The display collection is OK, Tickets include a hot glass demo. The rest of the service is subject to a charge. It is remote and the traffic is very inconvenient. It is only suitable for fun and family trips. (Original) 館內空間設計普通, 展示收藏還 OK, 門票包含熱玻璃演示, 其餘服務皆需收費, 地處偏僻, 交通非常不便, 僅適合親子寓教於樂之旅。

(Translated by Google) This is a lie. There is almost nothing to watch. Tickets are still sold for 160 yuan. 16 yuan is not worth it. It is also expensive. Are they colluding with the National Price Bureau? 👎👎👎 (Original) 这是一个骗人的地方,里面几乎没有东西可看,票子还卖160元 ,16元都不值,吃的也是奇贵,他们是不是勾结了国家物价局?👎👎👎

The Glass Museum is far out and a bit out of the way, so it takes an effort to get there. It’s a long walk from the Nearest Metro. The displays are awesome, although I left feeling that somehow there should have been more - especially older items, seeing that it is a museum. What was on display, was excellent. It’s covers quite a large area , so you need an hour or two to see everything. Some of the descriptions on the glass panels/cases are really difficult to read, with dark backgrounds, although I was pleasantly surprised to see so much written in English. I may need to go back on a week end, when hopefully there will be some artisans at work and workshops open. It all looks very interesting. Note that it’s half price, Tuesday to Friday.

Very informative. Some beautiful artworks. Top, age-relevant activities for kids: glass painting; melting and shaping glass; etc. Nice glass blowing demonstrations; exciting kids activity center. Various food and beverage outlets. Definitely worth a visit!
