Wanted a local place for breakfast, and we found a delicious treat! The first floor is the bakery and coffee shop, and the restaurant is upstairs. We were immediately greeted by a friendly hostess, and were sat where we requested, in the sunroom. The service was nice, we were helped by 3-4 people at our table. They all seem to work well together. The food was delicious. Eggs were fresh, bacon and sausage were good quality and decent portions, and the French toast was flavorful. I recommend to any locals or tourists who want a delicious breakfast to start their day!

I’m not huge on breakfast, so I can be pretty particular when I am craving it. And I highly recommend Crow’s Nest. I try to go during there low traffic times and that has worked well for us. The quality of the food is great. Our servers have always been sweet, attentive and knowledgeable. The environment is definitely a chill/artsy vibe. Totally recommend for a cute breakfast date.

This restaurant is amazing. We stopped here on our way back home and I'm so glad we did. There was about a 40 minute wait (which was expected on a Sunday morning) but while we waited, we were able to sit in the café downstairs and enjoy a delicious coffee. Once we sat down at our table at Crows Nest, we were immediately greeted and given water to start. Our server was very attentive and friendly. The coffee was great and our meals were even better. They also bake their own bread and it's so good! If we are in the Kalamazoo area again, we will definitely return to Crows Nest for an amazing breakfast!

What a truly outstanding breakfast! I got the monthly special French toast which was an Espresso French Toast: Fourth Coast brioche, espresso dust, espresso cream glaze, chocolate espresso beans, whipped cream. I added the two sides for $6, which for me was two scrambled eggs and sausage links. Don’t get me wrong, just like this place, you can go anywhere for descent food, atmosphere and service. Crow’s Nest not only has all of that, they have something very near and dear to my heart, and that’s TEAMWORK!!! They are beyond cogs in a wheel…they are the wheel. Watching everyone work together in harmony and with smiles on their faces made the whole experience exceptional! This more than made up for the one star review I gave someone else earlier. The only thing I regret is forgetting to ask where they get their sausage from. Phenomenal job everyone! Others could learn a thing or two from you, that’s for sure.

Place had vintage vibes. Service was fantastic and helpful. Everything here was very yummy. The only thing is they cure serving any type of eggs Benedict after Noon. Still tho second pick of Davidstown sandwich was very delightful. 😊 The Cuban as well.

An outstanding local breakfast/ brunch spot in town. Locally sourced and fresh ingredients makes a huge difference and the portion size is beyond generous. It's our go-to place for brunch in town and never disappoints. Queen Ann's Revenge, banana bread, captain's ration are all must trys. Wait times on weekends can be long sometimes but its worth the wait!

On a scale of 1-“lives up to the hype” I’d give it a 9.5! Very cool environment and staff, really tasty food. MUST try the biscuits and potatoes. Honestly the price blew me away the most. We got half portions and STILL couldn’t finish, so we ended up paying under $20 for our whole breakfast for 2 people. Unheard of in 2022! The reason for 9.5/10 on the hype scale is, of course, the wait. We were forewarned and totally fine waiting 45 minutes especially because of the coffee shop downstairs, where we waited. We heard people behind us saying it was a 2 hour wait and as DELICIOUS as the food is, it's just not worth waiting that long! Head down to their coffee shop and grab some tasty pastries instead.

This place was highly recommended. I can see how it is a fan favorite. It has a cool style and feel. The wait staff was kind and pleasant to speak to. I really appreciated that our waitress let us know that they were under staffed and the food would take longer than usual. These are unusual times. Unfortunately, we felt/tasted the lack of staff in the food. Our waitress did all that she could to give us an awesome experience but she couldn't control everything and when the food wasn't up to their standards, you could read the disappointment on her face. She apologized for it. Based on this experience at this time, I gave the 3 stars but know that I believe when they are full staffed, this is the type of place I can tell would earn a 5 star rating, just not at this time.

This is the second time I've eaten here and I can tell you it's worth the wait! No matter what kind of wait they tell you at the top of the stairs, just accept it, go downstairs and enjoy a latte for a bit. The food is amazing. One of the very best omelettes I've ever had. I've ordered off their specials menu twice now and have been extremely impressed. The attention to detail on every order is gratifying. Only drawback is that the coffee is lacking a bit considering they're above a wonderful cafe. Bottom line - the Crows Nest is a must go for breakfast fans!

I don't know what took me so long to try this place because it was great. From the food to the service, we loved it. It is on the second floor so be prepared for stairs. The food was delicious and guilty at the same time as well. We will be back

This place blew us away! Went after church for brunch. We did have to wait for ~40mins but it was absolutely worth it! We hung out in the coffee shop downstairs and took a little walk around the block to work up our appetite. Portions are generous and prices are fantastic. I had the Sailors Delight special and almost ordered a second one to go it was so good. Already planning my next visit here!

Amazing food and wonderful staff! The atmosphere is simply adorable. The one down side to this place is that they have one table that works for bigger parties. Crow’s Nest is perfect for couples or double dates. If you group is +4 people, I recommend you go somewhere else BUT do come back in the future! Thank you for breakfast! 🥰

Great food and menu. Service is just a touch lacking. Amazing how lightly sweet the Pumpkin Chai French Toast was. Hawkeye Chicken sandwich also amazing.

7/29/23 - Still worth the hype. Don't sleep on their specials, they really knock it outta the park with those. Everytime I come here, it's a culinary delight, seriously. Original Review: Completely worth the hype. When I moved to Kzoo, I would ask everyone I met for recommendations on where to eat - everybody and their mother would rave about this place. The breakfast food is the best and beats your run of the mill diners by a long shot. I had eggs benedict and it was plentiful, hearty and hit the spot. My fiancé had the coffee French toast and man.. I have to order French toast next time I come here! Even their plain coffee is some high quality stuff with amazing, rich flavor. We arrived around 11ish on a Saturday and we were seated immediately - but honestly if you gotta wait, it's still worth it. Color this New Yorker every shade of impressed.

Our server Kieryn was great!! Super friendly and had great vibes. I cannot express how amazing the Chilaquiles (monthly special) was with the chorizo. Man. No words. My brother said his pancakes were awesome, I had a bite and can concur. Super stoked we came here.

We visited for the first time last month while on business in Kalamazoo. Wow! So impressed with this place. Atmosphere is very “warm” and welcoming; all staff was super friendly and our server, Liddie, made great recommendations for us - and she was right… it won’t disappoint! We enjoyed the Breakfast Burrito with waffle fries and the Espresso French Toast with eggs and bacon. AMAZING! Can’t wait to visit again 👍😊 Oh, and the use a scan and pay system (optional) which is super convenient!!

We had to wait to be seated for about 5 minutes due to it being very busy. We were serviced right after sitting, and food did not take long to come out. It was all amazing! Waffle fries with honey, chicken sandwich and pita with hummus. The only complaint I have is that there is a black bean burger on the online menu but they don't actually have one.

This is a great place for breakfast/brunch. My wife had the Farmer’s omelette and loved it. The banana bread French toast was excellent. Service was good and the only complaint I had was the wait to get in. (It is that good.) 😃 We will be back.

The food was good. The wait was a little long (1 hour wait on a Saturday) but just went and grabbed a chai latte and coffee downstairs while we waited for our table. Tables are not very spacious, the whole restaurant is pretty small. Also warning that the bathrooms are through the service area and next to the kitchen so you have to walk through/around service staff. If you'd prefer, there are bathrooms downstairs in the coffee shop.

The place was very busy, but the staff were very attentive to our group. We enjoyed every last bite!

We don't do breakfast often... however, when we do it's at the Crow's Nest! Their food is always good with fresh ingredients. Staff is always attentive and friendly. Just a forewarning the restaurant is small, which adds to it's charm, but be sure to get here early or you'll be waiting on the weekends. However, if you do wait, it is more than worth it. We had the Captains Ration Omelet with pumpkin chai bread (basically pound cake/donut) and the Breakfast Burrito with banana bread (so good!).

Food choices were good. Takes a bit to get your food, but it was great. Waited 50 mins, but be careful. When you see on the app you are next, go up there and wait. Don't wait for the text. All of a sudden, it said l was no longer on the wait list. I went up there, and some guy told them they were me. Most likely, he had 3 in his party, and they asked if he was my name, and he said, "Oh yea, that's me." They quickly sat me. Happened to be next to the guy. I called him out, and of course, he denied it. Worked out, but be careful. They should ask your phone number and/or ask to see your text.

Excellent food and the kindest staff members. Food portions were large and very filling. There are vegan options offered as well. Would recommend and visit again! (Food pictured: pecan french toast and chocolate chip pancakes with a side of breakfast potatoes. Fruit smoothie was delicious as well.)
