The Outrigger is great, the staff are amazing, plenty to do, great pool and beach. The hotel is perfect for kids. Kids Club is free for 3+ and for the younger ones there is a nanny service. My kids loved it. The food is yummy but expensive. You can walk to nearby restaurants as well. The rooms are a bit dated but comfortable. There are lots of little 5 star touches to make up for the dated furniture, like nightly drinks and canapes. By the end of our four nights we were friendly with everyone from the maid to the bartender, Fijian people are wonderful. Overall, if money isn't your highest concern but a great family holiday is, we recommend this resort.

Had a fun time for three nights here. It’s a nice resort and is very targeted towards families, which my 10 and 12 year old loved. Pool for all ages was excellent and the slide was great. Also nice to have an adults only pool to relax away from the hoopla. Food options were very average and quite overpriced. Buckets of beer by the pool were fun. The snorkeling out front is quite good if you venture far out to the barrier reef but there are better snorkeling spots in the lagoon a bit of a drive east along the coast. The big negative for us was arriving at 10PM for a booking made six months prior and the resort double booking the bure/bungalow we’d paid for. We therefore had to change rooms during the middle of our stay, which was a real pain. I just don’t understand how a hotel with a computerized booking system double books a room…

*Purely a food review, the hotel and staff are amazing*. That being said, everywhere and everything we ate was a major let down to a previous visit 5 years ago. Food portions are smaller now but prices still high. No effort or care is put into the foods, buffet breakfast was colder than the room temperature, a la carte was small in size everywhere and usually left you feeling yucky from salts, oils or sauces. You know it’s bad when even the Fijian staff (4 individuals) are agreeing with this because of a change in chef management. Also, the final night we had buffet dinner and I got food poisoning and been on the toilet for 3 days. Very sad for such a nice resort.

Had a family trip which was amazing at outrigger. We loved it and the people were amazing. The only complaint we had was the room we got which was great but was near a utility room which had this pump going and sounded like a cow was mooing in our room every 30 seconds and made it hard to sleep and there was the sound of water in pipes flat stick which was also annoying. That was only our room and the location. Everything else amazing. The view was beautiful and so were the facilities.

Outrigger is quite a big resort and very fancy I must say. The rooms were very luxurious, especially the bed which was super comfortable and not forgetting the fire dancing was brilliant. The biggest downfall in my experience was their reception. I was treated as the same as others. Staff were so polite and consistently mingled with me every time I passed, up till when they found out I was a local. It all changed from there. Not all but, some staff members had literally stopped speaking to us. Their attitude changed and I felt like a nobody. That my presence did not matter to them. This was one of the most disappointing experiences ever. I hope that in future, they are more friendly to the locals and quit the differentiation between local guests and the tourists.

We had a fantastic holiday at Outrigger Fiji! Cannot fault the rooms, facilities and overall experience even a bit... but above everything was the wonderful staff! Our heartfelt thanks to everyone at Outrigger to make our holiday so memorable...

Great place to base for a holiday. The resort team can support you with nay request and are fast to help with nay problems. Access to lots of activities free on-site. Recommend wagering on crab racing, and watching the pool aerobics and beach bonfire and limbo! Air con in rooms, quiet and spacious. Great food at restaurants, but the prices are quite steep. Booking with the complimentary buffet breakfast recommended - fabulous selection fro all dietary needs and tastes. Not to mention the complimentary drinks and canapés service for 4pm each day Probably an even more amazing place if traveling with kids, so much for the to do.

The resort claims it is 5 stars, but it is so outdated and the rooms are in serious need of an upgrade. Bath is dingy with stains, shower head is about to fall apart. All inclusive option includes only certain items on the menu and the drinks are not included. Staff is very friendly but is super confused about the rules of all inclusive. Management is non-existent on the resort and no one is there to make it better or to guide the staff. The beach is covered in small sharp coral and is very shallow. No beach chairs and no drink / food service at the beach. Hotel is very far from all the attraction and it takes about 2hrs of slow driving from airport. Spend your money elsewhere.

Absolutely beautiful place and staff. Great snorkelling right out the front. The staff make you feel right at home can not fault there attitude. It is a bit far from most of the main attractions but very peaceful. The room was kept in good order most of my stay. The food is nice but it is expensive to dine in every day. And the drinks are not cheap. Overall I would definitely come back.

I just recently got married at the outrigger, not only was the resort SO AMAZING to stay in but they made my wedding the most magical day I could ever ask for. My husband and I didn’t want to leave the outrigger! We felt so special by the staff and the pools, restaurants, beach, activities were just amazing! Not only us, but all our guest couldn’t believe how amazing it was! We will definitely be back! Do yourself a favour and visit outrigger. Thank you so much for our incredible stay and for making our special day so relaxing and beautiful!

What a great place to stay. The rooms were clean and well appointed. The staff throughout the Resort were friendly and very helpful, they couldn't do enough for you. The views were amazing. The food at all eateries was delicious . Happy hours at the bars were great value. Swimming pools were clean with plenty of room for adults and children.

Similar environment to Far North Queensland, but the people are so lovely and you can swim at these beaches. Cost is a little better then what you pay in Australia, but still close. Food was amazing, drinks were delicious, rooms are very nice and lots of activitiesto do. Nothing I didn't like. The people are very beautiful and so friendly.

What a great weekend I had. From point A to Z all so welcoming and kind. Outrigger defines friendliness. What great deals, cheaper than outside food yet served in style. My son enjoyed all the kids activities. Staff were 100% involved giving parents time of their life. Energetic team, not just them but their General Manager too was all hands on board. Highly recommended. Outrigger erases the term local, go in style and enjoy in style. Thank you Team

The staff at the Outrigger provide a great experience for all at the resort. They are the most cheerful and helpful staff I have experienced during any holiday I've ever had. Food was amazing in quality and with plenty of variety and dining options. Local musicians enhance the dining experience. There's live music and performances every night to entertain and add to the enjoyment of dining. There's a great pool area with plenty recliner chairs and shade and waiters take orders for drinks and food while you relax and cool off at the pool. The beach is not a surf beach but more like a lagoon that is best experienced at high tide. Kayak's and snorkel gear are provided free of charge. I was amazed by the diversity of sea creatures we saw while snorkelling so close to shore. Awesome resort for a family holiday or just a relaxing break. Vinaka!

Great experience with awesome snorkelling and good food options. Only downside was wait times or people saying they will get back to you, but not doing so. Rooms are not 5 star but they they were definitely not bad. Great activities and options at the resort and in the area.

Beds were double and very hard. Rest of room was great except the bright light outside all night. All staff amazing and super helpful. Hour and half bus ride from Nadi is a bit of a chore, all country roads and a slow run. Resort is clean and tidy, good food. No swim up bar at main pool but is one at adults only, which we never used. Beach is nice, but small tidal window for kayaking and snorkeling.

In November of 2023 my partner and I planned our wedding at the Outrigger. I am so pleased with our choice and it exceeded our expectations not only for our wedding but for our stay as well. From the beginning the team were very accomodating and were great with communication. They were timely on emails, arranged a virtual meeting and also provided a Facebook group where we received regular updates and quick responses to any queries. From the start of our stay we felt welcomed each and every member of the team were friendly and confident in their roles. The facilities were amazing with spacious, clean rooms showcasing beautiful views. A variety of dining options and plenty of things to do throughout the day. Rosalini was an exceptional front desk lady who greeted us every time she saw us always with a smile on her face and was always willing to assist us with anything we required. Our room butler Tui was more than willing to help us and provide us with a delicious treat in our room every afternoon. He also assisted in having our wedding clothes dry cleaned prior to the wedding day and also left a lovely hand written note for us after the wedding. The wedding went off without a hitch thanks to our amazing wedding planner Foziya. She ensured everything was planned to the minute and everything was exactly as we wanted, it was personalised to us and we had the most amazing day. Ameni was our personal butler for the afternoon (yes they provide you with a personal butler!!) this was an amazing inclusion. He never left us with an empty glass and was there to help during our photos. He was such a lovely man whose service was beyond amazing. Luke was at our reception and he was the star of the night with our guests. He was the cocktail master ensuring everyone had a drink at all times and had everyone laughing throughout the night. The make up and hair service available at the outrigger was Totoka. They accomodated 7 people’s hair and make up each with an individual style for the day of the wedding. They were fast, friendly and their work was fantastic. We all walked out feeling like a million dollars looking absolutely beautiful. The team at the outrigger deserve so much credit for their amazing hospitality and service. I will never regret the decision to get married at the Outrigger!

Good location and atmosphere within the resort. Went there for a snack and drink and found the staff treatment within the restaurant a bit ordinary. Despite requesting we weren't served what we asked for. Had a quick drink and left.

Title: Impressive Management and Cuisine, But Service Lacks Consistency Rating: ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ 5 Star I recently had the pleasure of staying at this hotel, and my overall impression was bittersweet. While the outstanding performance of the Mauritian Hotel Manager, Rod, and Chef Warren significantly contributed to my enjoyable experience, the rest of the staff's service left much to be desired. Firstly, I must commend Rod and Warren for their exceptional professionalism and genuine hospitality. Their attentiveness and dedication surpassed all expectations and truly made a difference in my stay. Without their presence, I would have rated this hotel much lower. However, I cannot ignore the delayed and inconsistent service provided by the other staff members, which exhibited elements of racism. It was disheartening to notice that they seemed to prioritize foreign guests, particularly those of Caucasian descent. This biased behavior detracted from the overall atmosphere of inclusiveness and equality that a hotel should strive for. While I hold no animosity towards the preferences shown to foreign visitors, it is crucial for all guests to receive equal attention and consideration. On a positive note, the facilities at the hotel were generally satisfactory. The overall quality was good, but I did notice that the pools could benefit from an upgrade. Although functional, they could be improved to enhance guests' enjoyment and comfort. Regarding breakfast, while it was decent, I believe there is room for improvement in terms of menu options. Expanding the choices and incorporating various dietary preferences would provide a more satisfying breakfast experience for guests. In conclusion, my 5-star rating is solely due to the exceptional impression left by Rod and Warren. Their exemplary service overshadowed the delayed and biased treatment received from other staff members. The facilities were generally good but could benefit from a pool upgrade. Additionally, the breakfast menu could be expanded to offer more diverse options. Despite some shortcomings, the outstanding efforts of key individuals salvaged my overall experience at the hotel.

Hands down one of the best places to visit! From the time you enter the gate with a resounding welcoming 'Bula', when you interact with the porters upfront, when you check in, during your stay and even after you checkout. One thing that really stood out was that whoever designed the place really thought of nearly everything! From the tiny details in the bathroom to outlay of the resort, so amazing! Oh and the food was top notch, worth the wait, the view and serenade :)

This is a really fine place. Rooms, service, premises, everything is just high level. My wife and I both worked in the hotel business in our younger days, and truly we had never seen a place like that, so well organized and with such a high attention to details. The staff is super friendly and helpful, restaurants are great, rooms are well maintained and really make you feel at home. A wonderful experience for the whole family. On the plus side : shops and travel agency available on site. The only downside would be the sea, not the best snorkeling I've seen. Although the beach is beautiful! Highly recommended.

The beds were comfortable and the staff was great. The breakfast buffet was so so not much of a selection, but had all the basics. The public pool was big and the kids loved it. The beach was rocky so would suggest bringing water shoes. They do offer some but not the best selection. The beach was not very nice to be honest. The only downside of this place is it’s so big that walking to the pool or the Buffet takes a long time, so be prepared and it’s not easy when you have kids because you have to carry all of their swimming stuff.

The rooms are currently being renovated and they were already fine for the price, so I guess they will be even better soon. Nice location but not much else around. The resort restaurants are lovely, there are a couple of non resort ones down the way which are also good. Everyone at the resort was super helpful and friendly

From our initial experience I would have given them a one-star, but things got better as time went on so that's why I'm giving them three stars. We arrived at 7:00 a.m. in the morning and we're told that our rooms would not be available for another 5 hours. As you can see from the picture they put us on these couches out in the middle of the area. After an hour I went to them and said look you knew we were coming and would be here this early so why are our rooms ready? Within 15 minutes we had a room. This is when our room begin to have problems. Well my wife is having a shower water begin to backup into the shower. It took them about 30 minutes to get this cleared out. That night at about 11:00 p.m. air conditioning went out. After a few minutes they were able to get it working again. I will get 4:00 a.m. and the air conditioning had gone out again. Within a short while they were able to get it working again. I spoke to live about some sort of compensation for our difficulties. They said there was known to be had. I called my travel agent who then got in touch with the tour operator. This is when the outrigger resort began to bend over backwards to try and make us happy. I was able to get a free dinner and they were very accommodating to us after this. A little warning, the food prices are very high at the resort. There are a few restaurants within walking distance that are good. After everything that we experienced I don't believe that I will be returning.

Despite some negative reviews we had seen before we got here, we found the resort , staff ,food and atmosphere to be amazing and would recommend to both families and couples. We couldn't fault any aspect. The executive chef was a true master of his craft and the meals at the sundowner some of the best meals we have ever had whilst watching the sunset. Thank you outriggers I hope we can return one day.

I wouldn't call this a 5 star resort. It is a lovely place but very tired and run down. They are currently working on doing it up so expect to hear construction work while there. The resort is about 1.5 hrs away from Denarau and the airport. When we checked in and went to our rooms the keys and electricity didn't work so we had to call the engineer to help us get into the room which took from checking in to getting into our rooms close to an hour which after travelling all day isn't ideal. There was also a few communication errors between reception and the nanny service as we were never booked in thankfully we were able to squeeze in but still a little frustrating. The adults only pool deck had nails sticking up and each plank of wood wasn't bolted down properly. The staff were all friendly and remembered our names which is a nice touch. Highly recommend going to the adults only Ivi restaurant though. The food and service was amazing.

We just stayed in the apartments up top. Simple with great views. Next time we will get a villa by the beach. Cant fault any of the service. Food was outstanding and plenty of it. The people are just so friendly. If you have kids this is the place. Kids club is just perfect to drop your kids of for a few hrs, multiple times during the day. Or not at all if you want. They come back tired because they have been doing none stop activities and having a ball. Best family place I have ever stayed at!

The Outrigger was gorgeous! It had outstanding views from the lobby. Friendly staff. It had nice hotel rooms; very neat and tidy. It had a pleasant view from the balcony where you can see the beach right in front of you. The Sundowner Bar & Grill is the best place to get a gourmet meal. Nice outdoor pools to go for a swim. The hotel itself was lovely; I do hope to come back here again.

Beyond AMAZING!!!!!! This resort has everything you need!!! Fantastic accommodation to choose from, great selection of restaurants and bars with a very wide food selection and pools wow! big family pool with loads of room to spread out and a separate adults only area with it's own pool, restaurant and swim up bar. Cocktails are fantastic! Loved the all inclusive deals. Staff are so welcoming and friendlyresort area very tidy and well kept. Highly recommend

Had a very great Christmas getaway. Favorite family place was at the SunDowner bar & grill. Beautiful view from the restaurant overlooking beautiful sunsets in the afternoon. Food is really tasty and nice. Personally would thank Tamarisi for helping us enjoy our lovely dinner with our 3months baby. Lovely staff and a beautiful resort overall

Very neat resort with lots of activities and options for the family but also an area dedicated to adults. Snorkeling from the beach at high tide is just so easy. The rooms in the main building are good but could benefit from a refurbishment (especially the beds were not as good as you can imagine), but all services and amenities provided. Staff is genuinely kind and welcoming!

  • 4/5 Caroline G. 2 years ago on Google
Great friendly service - nice, clean rooms with the afternoon complimentary drinks selection a nice touch. Fun vibe in the main pool with music and games and great swim up bar in the adult pool. My only complaint is that the hotel needs a little maintenance - For what you pay it should be meticulously kept and attended to! Delicious breakfast buffet with plenty of variety and an amazing selection of restaurants for lunch and dinner. All in all we had a wonderful experience

Cannot fault the Outrigger. Our family of 4 stayed for 7 nights in January. The staff are amazing and the food was great. A good selection of restaurants to choose from, though would recommend an inclusive meals package as it works out to be cheaper and there is not much near the hotel in terms of dining. We made use of the kids club and the nanny service. We stayed in a Bure room and the evening Butler service was fantastic. The pool is great (as is through adults only pool area). And free kayaks, paddleboards and snorkelling gear was a good change for something different to do. Made to feel so welcome and found it very hard to leave.

Great place, has few restaurants and kid friendly. The bure’s and the staff are very nice. A bit on the expensive side for food but tasty.

If I could’ve given this 3.5 stars, I would have. Firstly, I must say our stay in Fiji, and the Outrigger in general was pleasant. It’s hard not to have a great time in Fiji! The staff at the outrigger were nothing but happy, inviting and helpful. The pool was a hit with the kids and (my wife said) the day spa was incredible! The activities team were all really nice and I cant say enough great things about the kids club ladies. We’ve been to Fiji a couple of times now and chose to stay at the outrigger this time as we wanted to head over to the coral coast and we were told it was a great resort for families. Although, for the most part, we still had a great time away I found the resort a little underwhelming for the time and money we spent getting here and holidaying (around 10.5K Aussie all up, 10 nights in total). While we were there, there were only a handful of meals that we had, that arrived to us without having either something wrong on the order or something we had to chase up. More often than not, it was something the kids ordered too and with 4 small kids on our holiday, that part wasn’t fun. When we had our bill come through at the end, we had a few errors on it in which we were charged for meals that had been included in our package. I was told to check this out by another guest, but if I hadn’t I would have probably skipped this step and have been charged a couple hundred more dollars unnecessarily. Presently, the tapas restaurant isn’t doing tapas which is fine, just would have been nice to know prior to heading up. On checking in, the adults only ‘tapas bar’ was pointed out to us, we had a staff member tell us it was great, and we even asked the staff member who took us up in the buggy to take us to the tapas bar, only to get up there and find out they haven’t done tapas for over 4 months. Would have been good to know prior to getting the kids rushed out for kids club! What was worse, when we come back down to get dinner, because it was later everything was then either booked or busy. Pretty deflating evening. In the other resorts we stayed at in Fiji, there seemed to always be some live music, music playing and general energy about the place. There were a couple of times the outrigger had this happening but more often than not it was just in the sundowner restaurant in the evening. A little more music and pool side service would have been great! Towards the end we had some more people taking orders around the pool but I can honestly say for the first 5-6 days we weren’t asked to order anything unless we went up to the bar and purchased it. Probably the worst part of the trip for us was the fact that out of the 8 of us staying there, we had 6 catch a stomach bug that had them throwing up throughout the night and all on separate occasions. One of our friends ended up sick 6 out of the 10 nights we were there. We took tons of precautions with water, not even brushing our teeth with the water out of the tap. A real bummer. Finally, I will give the outrigger team credit on the fact that other than one of the restaurants being out of operation, I would not have know there were building works going on. They’ve done a great job of making us feel in-impacted but the building going on. After spending 10 nights here, although it was a great break away I don’t think we’ll be back.

I was just heading out from my morning at the Sigatoka sand dunes and took a day pass. The staff were very friendly, considerate and kind. The food surprisingly affordable and great quantity and quality. Spent a couple hours in the pool chilling and playing pool volleyball then had a feast of a lunch, played some table tennis then had some coffee all for the price of $25. Definitely taking my group of friends there for a day again.

I can’t say enough how amazing the Outrigger was for our honeymoon and the joy and kindness of the staff who served us. The staff came to know us by name and made our experience so memorable and personal. They sang us a beautiful farewell song and shared so much of their lives and culture with us. We loved the food and rarely left the resort for a two week period. Thank you to all the staff and people who made our holiday so relaxing and joyful.

Very enjoyable hotel to stay in. Hotel is a little dated but impeccably looked after, no issues encountered at all. The beach at the hotel is on the Coral Coast so you need to wear dinner kind of water shoes. Services, Restaurants and Food are all superb (we had an all inclusive three meals a day). Nice mixture of generations with adults only swimming pool and restaurants. Hotel has changed hands and we have been told that refurbishment will be starting soon (without disrupting to operations). A well worth hotel to consider, specially with children who, were all having a great time. All staff were extremely friendly and always ready to help at any time of the day.

The staff is the best staff in the world. Each one of them is kind, thoughtful and made us feel like best friends. The actual hotel is pretty nice but again, I wouldn’t think of staying at another hotel because of the awesome people at the outrigger. Thanks again!
