Very challenging if you plan on summiting. I went in late August and there isn't much snow which I guess can make it harder at times, especially when going down. Overall I'm glad I did it but I wouldn't say the amount of pain you go through is worth what you get at the top. Really pretty but max effort is required to make it to the top. I also did it all in one day without camping so that for sure didn't help with fatigue. I recommend this be a 2 day hike.

This entire area is underappreciated, being in the shadow of the Columbia Gorge to the south, Mt St Helen's to the west, and Rainier to the north. Offering fantastic camping lakes, alpine climbs, and forest trails, the Mt Adams recreation area has something for everyone. Ranger stations in Randall and Trout Lake can offer plenty of excellent advise for enjoying this area. If you plan on climbing Mt. Adams you'll need to swing by and get a permit.

Great hike to the summit. Trail is well marked and isn't technical but is challenging with the elevation gained. Went up early for a sunrise summit but would advise against it as glissading isn't good till around 10 or so.

I love camping here! It's beautiful even though it's been burned!

Recommend visiting 100% Scenery is awesome. Come on a truck so you can explore some of the side roads and hard to reach places.

Paradise that's been burned. 😥 Our camping side closed for good. Roads are bad, you can't even go all the way up... I kept fixing the road, at few places and gave up... It was wiped off by the water streams....

Great area with incredible views. The climb to Mt. Adams summit is incredibly hard but well worth the effort.

Recovery from the 2015 Cougar Creek fire is slow but the landscape is amazing. Before the fire you couldn't see the hills... Not a problem now, but it's still beautiful on the flanks of the sleeping giant.
