Beautiful place. Many different exhibits to enjoy for free. At this time you must wear a mask(no big deal they offer free ones if you forget). Great collection of Armour, swords and other artifacts from that Era. Lots 0f real cool Hindu and Buddhist carvings, tablets and sculptures. Second time going spent some time walking through the parks leading to the museum is definitely also worth the effort. Will definitely make time to go again if I'm anywhere close. Loved it .

A wonderful gem in Cleveland. They have an extensive collection of different kinds of art, ranging from the armor collection to Baroque. They also have a nice gift shop and cafe that you can stop in on your way out. The architecture inside and outside are works of art themselves. The best part…it’s free! All of the employees I’ve encountered have been very friendly and informative as well. A great way to spend an afternoon.

The Cleveland Museum of Art is a true masterpiece, both architecturally and artistically. I visited, and it left an indelible impression on me. First and foremost, the museum's collection is breathtaking. It's a journey through time and diverse cultures, with a remarkable array of art spanning from ancient civilizations to contemporary works. The quality and variety of the pieces on display are astounding, and there's something to captivate every art lover. Whether you're into classical paintings, sculptures, or modern art, this museum has it all. The architecture of the museum is a work of art in itself. The beautifully designed building combines classic and modern elements, and it's a pleasure to explore. The atrium, in particular, is a stunning space that provides a sense of openness and grandeur, making it an ideal backdrop for the incredible art within. The staff and curators are knowledgeable and passionate about the art, and their enthusiasm is infectious. You'll find yourself learning about the pieces and their historical context as you explore, which enhances the overall experience. Additionally, the museum offers a wealth of educational resources, from guided tours to interactive exhibits, making it a great place for families and students. The museum also hosts special exhibitions that provide fresh perspectives on art and culture. Conveniently located in University Circle, it's easy to access and pairs well with other nearby attractions like the botanical gardens and the Cleveland Orchestra. Parking is a breeze, and the on-site restaurant offers a delightful dining experience with a view of the museum's beautiful grounds. In conclusion, The Cleveland Museum of Art is a cultural treasure that offers an enriching experience for art enthusiasts and curious minds alike. It's a place where you can lose yourself in the beauty of art and history. If you find yourself in Cleveland, this museum is a must-visit destination.

Excellent museum with a broad collection of art. It is large enough that you can't see it all in one day. It should be on everyone's to do list when visiting Cleveland. If you park in the garage, the entrance to the museum is on the garage's second floor. Drive up the ramp.

We wanted to check out the chalk art event and we’re not disappointed. Although we were a bit too early to see the professional artists replicate famous paintings, it was fun to see so many chalk art around. We also toured the art galleries inside the building and were impressed by the collection of art available to the public for free viewing. This is definitely a great place to go.

One of the best museums I've ever been to, I really immersed myself in the past. Different cultures, styles, countries and the most talented creators. Very beautiful paintings that you can see only in this museum, various world sculptures, extremely beautiful tableware, as well as ancient furniture. The museum itself is very large, two floors, there are elevators, you can also have a delicious snack in the cafe, a large selection of food and drinks, cuisine for every taste. There is also a zone where children can play and show their creative skills, for example, create a portrait of themselves or mold a vase from clay, draw with gestures on the screen, so children will not be bored here. We spent about 3 hours in the museum, but we were very satisfied and pleasantly surprised by what we saw. The museum itself is free, but you have to pay for parking, the museum has friendly staff, it is clean, light and cozy. We visited on Friday, there were not many people, there are many benches where you can rest, toilets. My family and I receiving a lot of positive emotions from such beautiful, informative and instructive places, recommend it to everyone))

My visit to the Cleveland Museum of Art was an absolute delight! The museum's extensive collection, thoughtfully curated exhibits, and welcoming atmosphere made for a truly memorable experience. The diverse range of artworks on display showcases the museum's commitment to providing visitors with a rich and varied cultural journey. From classic masterpieces to contemporary gems, there's something for everyone to appreciate and enjoy. The layout of the museum is intuitive and easy to navigate, allowing visitors to explore at their own pace. The staff members were friendly and knowledgeable, adding to the overall positive impression of the museum. What stood out to me was the museum's dedication to accessibility – not just in terms of physical space but also in making art appreciation accessible to all. The well-designed exhibits and informative signage made the art more approachable, even for those with minimal art knowledge. Admission to the museum is free, offering excellent value for the quality of the experience. Whether you're an art enthusiast or just looking for a pleasant way to spend an afternoon, the Cleveland Museum of Art is a must-visit destination. The Cleveland Museum of Art exceeded my expectations, providing a wonderful blend of art, culture, and hospitality. I highly recommend it to anyone seeking a simple yet enriching cultural experience.

(Translated by Google) One of the most prominent cultural and architectural landmarks in the capital, Baghdad, symbolizes the martyr who offered his soul as a sacrifice for the homeland. The monument was built during the period of the Iraq-Iran war at the time of the late President Saddam Hussein in memory of the martyrs who fell in defense of Iraq. Iraqi media recently spoke of the government's intention to remove the monument, but Government sources denied this. Location: The monument is located on the Rusafa side of Baghdad Historical background: Work began on the construction of the monument in 1983, and it was designed by the Iraqi engineer Saman Asaad Kamal, and the dome was designed by the late plastic artist Ismail Fattah al-Turk. The banner that rises five feet above the ground and three meters below it is seen in the form of a chandelier, and the fountain whose water flows into the ground to symbolize the blood of the martyr, and this crew sits in the middle of a vast artificial lake. It is considered one of the most ingenious architectural designs in the world, where the design genius lies in the optical illusion that the Turkish artist embodied in the monument built on a vast open ground, as pedestrians by car around the monument watch that the two halves of the dome that appears closed at the beginning of the street leading to it begin to move away from one another As if a gate opens in front of him in preparation for the exit of something, and when the visitor enters the site of the monument, he notices that this thing is the Iraqi flag that is raised to the top as an embodiment of the ascension of the martyr's spirit to heaven. Designer Ismail Fattah Al-Turk: Born in Basra in 1934 and graduated from the Rome Academy of Fine Arts in 1962, he worked for more than thirty years as a teacher at the College of Fine Arts in Baghdad, and most of the artists of the seventies and eighties were trained by him. Leaving has many works of art, including statues that are still standing today in the squares and streets of Baghdad, some of which are well-known Baghdad personalities, such as the poets Marouf al-Rusafi, Abdul-Mohsen al-Kazemi, and the Abbasid poet Abu Nawas. The removal of an investment mother: Iraqi media recently spoke of the Iraqi government's intention to remove the monument, but the latter, in turn, denied that, while the Council of Ministers’s Martyrs Foundation stated that it referred part of the monument to investment. Really nice doable museum that you can spend an hour on a weekend. The best part is it's free just have to pay for parking of $12. Though you may be able to park on the street around the area. One little gem is the lake right across the museum. We came around Easter weekend and it was definitely great. The trees, some were probably cherry blossoms, and they looked amazing. If you have time, I strongly recommend this place and don't forget to visit the lake outside while enjoying the weather.

I was very impressed by this museum. Very broad, expansive collection with some nice items. They have some unique ancient Greek, Roman, and Vincan items that I don't recall ever seeing equivalents of in places like the British Museum, Louvre, or some other nice museums around the US. Attached are some of those that I found to be unique plus more modern art that I enjoyed.

Such an amazing experience at the Cleveland Museum of Art. It was free to enter. If we wanted to see the special exhibits, we would have to pay extra. We only made it through the 1916 building (south building) when we went. Everything was so wonderfully curated and preserved. I loved the fact that the exhibits had ample space and it did not feel cramped at any point which was wonderful because one person in our party was in a wheelchair. I have been to 5 other major art museums including Chicago and thus far, the only Cleveland Museum of Art has been my favorite. They also have a cafe that has baked goods, coffee, soups, sandwiches and sushi. I also noticed that they had small bottles of wine and sparkling wine for purchase. The gift shop has a wide array of gifts ranging from a keychain all the way up to fine jewelry. We are hoping to become members in the near future!

This is an amazing and beautiful museum! They had exhibits from India, China, Japan, and Korea all the way to Warhol and Dali. I could really have happily spent several hours there. The have a beautiful restaurant and cafe in house as well as a small but well stocked gift shop. There are several public restrooms complete with no-touch facilities and baby changing stations in the mens room (which is often overlooked). It is hard for a younger child to stay engaged however so you should plan accordingly. Parking is also limited to the street.

It's been said 1000 times but this place is absolutely incredible. If you're anywhere near the area you really need to check it out! I've been to dozens of museums and this one is honestly on another level. If you want to explore the whole thing/all the exhibits expect to spend at least 3 hours or so, but if you have less time it's very easy to pop in and out of the different exhibits! Also I went on a Saturday and it wasn't even super busy, excellent spot.

Mostly likely you will have to enter from the North entrance. Come in the morning and hit the high points. This maybe the Warhol or the Monets or the suits or armor. Plan to eat lunch and then get the 1pm tour. There is so much to see, you will not get it done in one visit, but plan for about four hours and you will not be disappointed.

Martyr Monument is one of the most prominent architectural landmarks in Baghdad. It is designed by the Iraqi architect Saman Asaad Kamal and the dome designed by the Iraqi plastic artist Ismail Fattah Turk. The genius of design lies in the visual illusion of the monument on a wide open ground. The car passes around the monument. The two sides of the dome seem to be closed at the beginning of the street and begin to move away from one another as if a gate opens in front of it. When the visitor enters the site of the monument, he observes that this thing is to me, which rises to the top as an embodiment of the elevation of the spirit of martyr to heaven. Inscription inside the monument

The Cleveland Museum of Art has a really lovely collection. It is worth a trip for that alone, but the true gem of the museum is its integration of digital experiences with the actual collection. You can plot a tour by selecting pieces that appeal to you on a big wall near the entrance. Using your smartphone after downloading their app, you set your phone on a station and then touch pieces you want to see on the large, interactive screens. These "loved" items are collected by the app and then you can see where they are and be guided to them in the galleries. You can also see other tours from visitors and curators that have been saved in the app. There are so many more interactive experiences using 3D models of several pieces on display. Unlike the real things, you can virtually move these around and zoom in and out. I appreciated the actual pieces so much more as a result. The best thing, though, was the Revealing Krishna exhibit. The use of the 3D models, the virtual reality experience, and the amazing story of the two Krishna statues were simply stunning. It was a beautiful and rich narrative and I can't recommend it enough.

One of my favorite places in the whole world. We have been members for years and could not recommend it enough. Top place to visit if you are visiting Cleveland or if you are a local. It is always free and the collection is top tier and ALWAYS FREE. My personal favorite galleries to visit are the contemporary gallery, the American landscapes and the Armor court. Of course, do not miss hanging out in the atrium and the interactive art lens area. If the weather is nice, a stroll around wade lagoon is a great way to admire the architecture and surrounding area. In April the cherry blossoms are stunning!

I love that it's Free admission for one. My kids loved it. Great place to walk around but also enjoy many variations of art. Great to keep in your back pocket for an idea on a rainy day but even a sunny one you would want to go to take pictures of the outdoors too. Cafe has great options and smelled good but highly expensive especially for most who are on a budget. Otherwise love going here!

The Cleveland Museum of Art consistently ranks as one of the best comprehensive art museums in the United States and one of the most-visited in the world. But what does that actually mean? This isn’t the kind of museum where you show up, look at a couple of Picassos, then find the nearest bar. It's home to more than 61,000 works of art spanning 6,000 years — including soothing lily pad oils by Monet, ancient hot bod Grecian statues and 100 very vivid images of Marilyn Monroe courtesy of Andy Warhol. Oh, and after more than 100 years, the museum’s founders would be pleased to know that their bedrock belief that admission should be free to the general public is still adhered to today. You might also be pleased to know that, because, you know…free.

Gift shop: *The gift shop has many different things to look at! Different magnets, pins, wearable art such as scarves and purses, postcards, gifts for children, and books Atrium: *The atrium is beautiful, vast, and modern *We were there in December, and they had a choir singing Christmas carols. It was decorated well and was nice and warm despite being very cold outside! Parking: *Parking is annoying, but when is it not annoying in Cleveland? lol Bathrooms: *Bathrooms were clean enough Special exhibits: *The Degas and the Asian exhibit were both beautiful *They had some super cool pieces that you weren't allowed to take pictures of because they were on loan from China or private collections *We didn't have time for any of the other very interesting exhibits, unfortunately Other things to note: *They have a military discount *The docents were all very nice! *They have a coat check *There's a cafe that we didn't get to check out but looked cute *Plenty of places to sit down if you needed a rest Overall, I'm very happy we stopped in, we had an excellent time and look forward to going back if we are ever in the area again.

Cleveland museum of art is one of the top places to visit in Cleveland. The collection is really good. You can easily cover most of the museum in a day. Always a first class art museum. Been going since field trips in elementary school(: Love the Tiffany Glass and Impressionists exhibits in particular. Lots more too. They are exemplary I believe on handling the Covid19 safer procedures. Starting with online order of e-tickets now for distancing, and number of guests. Masks required.

I have been to many museums across the US. This is the top for me! The general museum is free, and fees for special exhibits are nominal. They are following strict COVID procedures during the pandemic. The displays here are well-organized and fully explained with narrative plates. As a retired art teacher, I took at least 30 busloads of kids to this museum over the years. It is dear to my heart, and a shining star in the state of Ohio, as well as the entire country.

is a monument designed by Iraqi sculptor, Ismail Fatah Al Turk, and is situated in the Iraqi capital, Baghdad. It is dedicated to the Iraqi soldiers who died in the Iran–Iraq War. However, now it is generally considered by Iraqis to be a commemoration of all of Iraq's martyrs. It’s one of the best places for capturing photos

The staff was very friendly and helped a few times when needed. It is also a lot bigger than expected that itll take quite a bit of time to go through it all!!

Outstanding art museum with originals dating back to the 1300s. Check out the knight gallery for a unique look at Medieval life. Many galleries including international such as Japan and Far East. Go back in time to Ancient Greek, Roman and up to contemporary arts. Also African, Islamic as well as Renaissance and French tapestries. Small cafe on site as well as gift shop. Garden alcove in center of museum great for special occasions. Allow a full day. Pay garage on site.

Very impressive for a free art museum. They have a good mix of many mediums and eras, so there’s something for everyone. There’s a new high tech area that’s pretty cool as well. Parking is $14 for non-members but you can probably find free parking nearby.

The Cleveland Museum of Art is an absolute must-visit for art lovers and anyone looking for a cultural experience in Cleveland, Ohio. The museum houses an impressive collection of over 61,000 works of art from around the world, spanning from ancient times to contemporary art. The exhibits are thoughtfully curated and beautifully displayed, with something for everyone to enjoy. The museum is spacious and easy to navigate, and the staff is knowledgeable and friendly. The museum also offers a variety of educational programs and events, making it a great destination for families and school groups. The building itself is a work of art, with stunning architecture and a beautiful atrium. Admission to the museum is free, making it accessible to all. I highly recommend the Cleveland Museum of Art for anyone looking for a world-class art experience in the heart of Cleveland.

My family and I visited the museum for the first time in May 2023 for a special Tudor exhibit. We were amazed that this museum has free entry. Granted we paid a small fee for the special exhibit we visited, but the museum itself has no entry fee. That's quite amazing as the only other free museum I've visited is the Smithsonian in DC. The staff we encountered were friendly and incredibly knowledgeable offering insight and answering our questions with professionalism and patience. We also had lunch at the cafeteria style option at the museum. The prices were reasonable and options varied so we all got what we wanted. The museum is arranged and presents its collection in an intuitive way. It is clean and comfortable and filled with amazing art and artifacts. If you enjoy museums I absolutely recommend this one. We will definitely visit again.

The atrium is amazing, I enjoyed my walk through here today. Next time I’ll do coat check because it gets hot walking through here. Many museum workers walking around ready to answer any questions. Lots of beautiful exhibits and a wonderful cafe that was packed! Admission is free so that was a major bonus. Inside and outside was breathtaking. This was my first visit here and I’m glad I made the stop inside.

Incredible museum! I had no idea what a large museum Cleveland had. They've got a nice parking garage that is reasonably priced, museum admission is free, and they've got a really nice cafe. Even more encouraging was the fact that it has a nice crowd on a random Saturday. They've got some impressive pieces including Monet. But they aren't limited to one era or culture. It would take several visits to soak it all in.

The door diversity of the collection is amazing. I hadn't visited in several years. When I lived in Cleveland almost 30 years ago, I visited often. Coming back, I was pleasantly surprised at the expansion and the depth of the collection. My only negative critique is that I would love to see more display of art from the eastern and southern parts of Africa. Otherwise, it was great to visit the art museum. I'll put my neck out but I think this is one of the best art museums I've ever visited.

The rich diversity of art was impeccably displayed and a beautiful feast for the eyes and art soul. Anyone with any interest of art whatsoever, needs to make a trip here. The first of these structures was The Monument to the Unknown Soldier (1982); followed by Al-Shaheed (1983) and finally the Victory Arch (1989). The three monuments form a visual and metaphorical unit. Designed by the Iraqi sculptor and artist, Ismail Fatah Al Turk

(Translated by Google) The martyr monument is located on the Rusafa side of Baghdad. It was established in 1983 and the monument symbolizes the martyr's sacrifice for the sake of his homeland and his principles Martyr Monument is one of the most prominent architectural landmarks in Baghdad. It was designed by the Iraqi architect Saman Asaad Kamal, and the dome was designed by the Iraqi plastic artist, Ismail Fattah al-Turk. The design genius lies in the optical illusion in the monument built on a vast open ground, as passers-by by car around the monument see that the two halves of the dome that appear closed at the beginning of the street, and they begin to move away from one of the other as if a gate opens in front of it in preparation for the exit of something. Excellent museum! So much culture from left to right, up down. From Ancient Middle East to Italian Renaissance, Oil on Canvas, Oil on Copper, pottery, ceramics from all over the world from six thousand years to more modern times. The staff is beyond nice! There's plenty of parking, free or paid, it depends if you want to walk a little bit. The entrance is free! You just have to book in advance. Online or by phone. Great place to meet for business meetings, coffee, a book read. Be aware that the cafeteria closes at 2:30pm, so if you need water of food, just try to eat before you get too hungry there. Great to spend the day learning about art, history and everything. They give you booklets with more information. Always a place to go back to!

It was an amazing experience. Took my daughter on her birthday along with my other 2 kids. There was plenty so see for all. We literally walked around the whole museum. My kids did not want to leave. I would not recommend buying anything at the gift shop as the prices were expensive, but my spoiled children got to choose 1 thing a piece; totaling 3 things and it was over $125 (1 stuffed elephant and giraffe and a book). But it's definitely worth going, did I mention it was FREE to visit!?! I would like to go again.

This place is AMAZING! There's so much art, and I could probably spend a whole day here and not see everything. There are west, east, north, and south wings - categorized by era and place of origin. There's paintings, sculptures, pottery, armor, weapons, furniture, remnants of an old building, and so much more! Plus there's a cafe and a restaurant if you're feeling a bit hungry. I need to come back! I've included interior pictures of the building and some of my favorites.

One of my favorite places to visit, especially with kids and grandchildren. The collections are amazing, it's hard to see it all in one trip. Amazing artifacts from BC, Iron Age, AD, Dark ages, Medieval Renaissance and on. From ancient Greece, Egypt, Africa, Rome, Iran and more. It's thrilling to see works from Goya, Gainsborough, Joseph Turner, John Singer and more famous painters. If you get hungry the cafe has very good food at good prices. The gift shop is nice too.

November 2022: I am still playing tour guide and introducing my blended family to the Cleveland area. Since they are beginning artists, I thought that it would be a good idea to take them to the permanent exhibit of the art museum, which is free. Pros: * Beautiful area located near Case Western Reserve University and the University Circle area. Well maintained grounds and area. This is place that so many people hold wedding receptions at. * Free access to masterpieces by legendary artists that upon seeing them will motivate any artist to create. I was most certainly motivated to study ancient civilizations and create after my visit. * They allow cameras. It has been many years (my university years) since I went here. Back then they did not allow cameras, but they do now. Take advantage. * A plethora of knowledge is available if you are into art, the artists who created it, and have the desire to learn. Cons: * Parking can be an issue and quite expensive if you are a nonmember. If you want free parking on the weekends, then be prepared to walk 😆. Conclusion: I will return and spend more time here. My favorite areas are the ancient civilation areas that will inspire a series of graphic novels that I am currently working on. One day, I aspire to have my art on display here. Hopefully, it will happen while I am alive to see it.

Made a special trip to Cleveland to see The Tudors Art and Majesty exhibition. Glad we bought tickets online earlier as I believe the exhibition has since sold out. How fabulous to see things in person from so far away and from so long ago. Extremely interesting and amazing! The Cleveland Museum of Art did a fabulous job! The presentation and facilities were top notch. Docents were knowledgeable and helpful. Can’t say enough good things about the entire experience.

Such huge collection of art we only got through the 1st floor. Have to go back for the others. Parking ramp made it very convenient to park and access the museum.

This is a full day museum if you are the type of patron to want to see nearly everything and read many of the descriptions. There are also decent food options for all members of the family, along with a small coffee bar and some desserts. Some alcohol selections are available too. The gift shop is beautiful, but I thought it was a little pricey. If you look at it from a donation viewpoint, the prices are 100% valid since the museum does not have an admission price, only donations welcomed.

Great Art Museum! West of downtown Cleveland. Although parking is $14, admission is free so it more than evens out. Nice collection in beautiful, airy surroundings. Was a good way to end a short trip to Cleveland. We ate at the cafe and enjoyed lunch. Was very busy at 12:00 with lots of staff. Note, there is a cafe and a restaurant (both with the same name) and the restaurant looked nice but we didn't have time for a longer meal. Also, a nature museum nearby.

It is a large museum with free entrance. It is difficult to visit in one day. If you want to read the descriptions of the arts, you need a few days to visit the museum. It is possible to find works from many periods of history and many civilizations. I recommend that you join the guided tours at 1 pm, which usually last 1 hour. Make sure you have comfortable shoes.

This museum is an absolute gem and a must-visit. Excellent collection of both classical and contemporary art, as well as ancient artifacts and multicultural pieces— there is something for every art lover! There are even a pieces from well-known artists like Caravaggio, Rubens, Dali, Van Gogh, Monet, Cézanne, Picasso, etc. The layout of the museum is also stunning. Entrance is free, you just have to pay for parking in the garage. Definitely plan to carve out a few hours to take on this museum, there is a lot to see and you don’t want to rush or miss anything.

The Cleveland Art Museum will forever be one of my favorite places to go. I park in the garage which is 10.00. The streets have meter parking if you prefer. The curators are always informative and welcoming. I am always thanked before I leave and greeted when I come in. There is almost always something going on in the first floor. I’ve seen crafting sessions, musical performances, etc. Their temporary exhibits are always a treat (my favorite was the water lilies). I love scanning works on my phone, the interactive exhibits, and even the kids area (19 still counts as a kid...right?). It is always a pleasure and I never want to leave. The cafe has great food and a wide variety of choices. If you want a perfect day, please go here. You won’t regret it!

I live here and have been through it probably 2 dozen times. The painting I view to be the most asinine is the one I think and talk about the most. By extension, you could say it's had more impact on my life than those tethered to the walls around it. Was it really designed to provoke this thought or just does it just suck as hard as I think it does?

Some of my favorites at the Museum: Stag at Sharkey's is a (1909) oil painting by George Wesley Bellows. The Crucifixion of Saint Andrew (1607) is a painting by the Italian Baroque master Caravaggio. George Washington at the Battle of Princeton (1779) by Charles Willson Peale. Water Lilies by Claude Monet. La Vie by Pablo Picasso. Fifth Avenue by Childe Hassam. Marilyn x 100 by Andy Warhol. The Trinity by Laurent Girardin.

One of the best art museums around! Definitely recommend enjoying the oval and the Case a western area while you are over there. I really recommend using the art sense app if you are a novice art appreciator, as it tells you what you should be looking for or know about the pieces. Felt very safe and clean during Covid.

Decided to treat myself before my BD to some culture. Don't come here nearly enough! But I do appreciate the fact that my first visit was via elementary school back In the 70's. Love the interactive touchscreen wall that Art Museum curators from Los Angeles CA, came to experience several years ago. a truly learning experience! I also like the fact that you can take pictures (don't touch! ) next to your favorite piece of artwork with a non-flash camera! More Clevelandlanders should take advantage of this free to visit treasure (reservations. and scannable tickets required on-line before visit during the Pandemic)

TOP TWO THING TO DO IN CLEVELAND, OHIO AND IT AIN'T NUMBER TWO PROS: • IT'S FREE • YOU LIKE BALZAC, PLENTY OF BALZAC • YOUR KIDS LIKE SUITS OF ARMOR, PLENTY OF SUITS OF ARMOR • GENERALLY JUST AWESOME PIECES ON DISPLAY, BUT PARTICULARLY AMONG THE IMPRESSIONIST, CUBIST, AND MODERN PIECES • THE BUILDING ITSELF IS ART • THE TRAVELING EXHIBITS TEND TO BE VERY THOUGHTFUL CONS: • YOU WILL GET VERY TIRED BEING PULLED FROM ONE ROOM TO ANOTHER BY THE MAJESTY OF THE ART AND ARCHITECTURE • THEY WON'T LET YOU TOUCH STUFF • PARKING CAN SEEM EXPENSIVE (BUT THEN YOU'RE LIKE, OH YEAH, THIS WAS FREE)

I want to thank the staff that worked on Wednesday, February 10, 2021. I am a type I diabetic and unfortunately experienced a low blood sugar while visiting. The Cafe was closed so my boyfriend and I asked a female security guard to help us. Well, that woman was an angel and had someone bring me orange juice and also went to get me some snacks in case it happened again. The medical staff came down to check on me and treated me with respect and dignity. I truly felt cared for by the rest of the staff too who also periodically asked how I was feeling. Thank you so much for your care and concern. You have a wonderful group of people working there.

This is a hidden gem you just have to visit if you love art. It is not only free but also one of the best art museum in the country. I was in awe as to how beautiful the museum and its surroundings are. Collection is also shockingly good comprised of best works from some of the best artists such as monet/picasso. Also enjoyed the cafe and food selections in the beautiful center area. Best best part of museum is that it is completely FREE! I kind of wish they couldve charged for an entrance fee because it is definitely worth it.

Truly a gem and a must visit in Cleveland. Located in University Circle snd conveniently accessible by public transit (the Healthline and a short walk) or automobile with ample parking, and free access to the permanent collections. Special exhibits have an admission fee. The US and European collections are extensive. Don't forget to visit the South Asian and East Asian (China, Korean, Japan) galleries too. Unfortunately, the acclaimed Provenance restaurant (by Chef Doug Katz) is currently closed during my most recent visit as a result of the COVID pandemic. I hope to see it reopen soon. Provenance used to offer specials that are linked to themes of special exhibits. Provenance Cafe is opened but on a reduced staffing and food selections.

This place is always my go-to to show off cleveland's artistic side. Such a massive museum, especially for the size of the city and it has absolutely everything: every style, time period, and major culture is neatly organized and presented beautifully. You could spend all day here and relax in the main atrium between exhibits. They have a decent amount of benches, elevator access to all exhibits, and plenty of space, so this museum is well accommodating for anyone with physical disabilities, including those using wheelchairs, armbands, or neither. The best part? Its free!

Very good museum in Cleveland with lot of historical paintings and artifacts. When I was there it was some Egypt spcific exhibition was going on and got a chance to learn a lot more about Egypt. Lot of Christian artifact's and paining a also available there. And the whole place has been kept really neat too. One would need about little over half a day to cover the entire museum.

This is a fabulous museum with many great exhibits. We love going and spending the day walking around and looking at all the great artwork. The parking garage can be confusing - the best place to park is on the top level not the bottom - and the interior of the museum can be a little difficult to navigate but there are always plenty of attendants around to provide assistance. This museum is a Cleveland treasure!

Can't believe I have lived an hour away from here for 50 years. The museum is amazing and FREE. So much to see and to realize how old some of the art is makes it mind boggling. Spend the time here you won't regret it.

  • 5/5 Kyle G. 2 years ago on Google
A stunning building with awe-inspiring works of art and somehow it’s free. When you walk in, you are greeted by a friendly staff member who gives you a quick breakdown of the museum. After that you walk into a massive atrium with natural light flowing in from the ceiling. From this point of view you get a sense of the scale present inside the building. Off the atrium are pathways to all the collections as well as the gift shop and a restaurant. We began our journey in the 1916 building with the Women in Power: Recent Acquisitions featuring two works by Amy Sherald (Michelle Obama’s official portrait) was on display. In this same area were works from the Islamic world with some dating back to the 700s. Up the stairs takes you to an area with an astonishingly high ceiling and many religious works. Off this is a room with medieval armor and weaponry including a full armored cavalry unit. Here is where we asked a staff member to point us towards the Van Gosh, Monet, Picasso area which they kindly did. En route, there were some stunning landscapes by the likes of Thomas Cole and Frederic Edwin Church. Then we arrived and were greeted by Monet’s massive Water Lilies that he worked on for 30 years. Van Gogh’s The Large Plane Trees is mesmerizing. The Picassos on display are gorgeous and even feature works from his rose and blue periods. After seeing those timeless pieces, we ventured into the contemporary section where more astonishing works were on display. Most notably was the LOOKS collection by Derrick Adams that was made possible by the museum and a partnership with the Cleveland Clinic. This place is just incredible and it’s free. An absolute must-see and if you live near it, go often for those of us who can’t.

A must visit in Cleveland. Museum han an extensive collection with each hall displaying different forms of art and it's origin. Don't be surprised if you end up spending a whole day glancing at everything in there. And it's free of cost.

  • 5/5 Ashley W. 1 year ago on Google
I'm no art buff, but we still had a great time here. Obviously it has great art, but I think the atmosphere is what makes it so enjoyable for all. It's not "stuffy" so you're free to go at your own pace and bounce around. The building itself is also really pretty. We visited for the first time and looked a little confused when we entered so a very nice employee explained the best place to start. Everyone we talked to was nice and helpful and looked like they enjoyed being there. Oh bonus, it's free!

  • 5/5 Angelo S. 1 year ago on Google
With parking relatively inexpensive and free admission, this is a must-go when in Cleveland. Galleries on two floors with the most striking being the gallery of tapestries and the medieval armor gallery that is just a sight to behold. Quite a few modern and impressionist paintings, and a number of very interesting Picasso pieces. Some are very recognizable, some just very interesting. There is also a good Egyptian gallery and some a small Tiffany display.

  • 5/5 V B. 1 year ago on Google
I love art museums and this one was fantastic! In Ohio the museums are free, which is great. The exhibits were a mix of art and vintage pieces, such as knights armor, mummy sarcophagus, Tiffany glass and beautiful works of art. It's a beautiful place and the rooms are all very large. Expect to spend about 3 hours here or more. Go while in the area, you will be glad you did.

Beautiful place and it’s huge. A ton of things to look at and explore, and all for free. There’s oil paintings, furniture, artifacts, drawings, armor, and so much more. Love the quiet atmosphere, wasn’t too busy, and the worker at the door was really nice and helpful letting us know where the maps were, that there was another floor, and how to get to the floor. There’s also a lot of seats around the museum to sit in. Had a really good time here and would recommend it! :)

This place is great! We did a tour of the first floor than the second floor and had a blast. On the first floor they had these two rooms with sets of engravings (pretty sure they're lithographs and wood carvings). That are in absolutely incredible condition and detail. On the second floor, I was astonished at their main room of early renaissance paintings. They're huge, and gorgeous. They also have that famous Pablo Picasso painting from his blue period they teach in art history. It's a fun place to spend some time and grab a tasty coffee.

  • 5/5 amanda l. 7 months ago on Google
The museum was beautiful and best of all free! So I didn't get to see much because my boys set a timer of 20 minutes before we had to go which was the only way I could get them to go inside at all. There is a beautiful open area in the center with sky lights. The cafe smelled expensive and was packed. My boys spent most of the time we had allotted going up and down the escalators 🫤 You can speed walk through everything in 20 minutes and appreciate about 1% of what the museum has to offer.

  • 5/5 Gina S. 5 months ago on Google
This was my 1st time to anywhere in Cleveland. I really enjoyed this museum. For the most part you could walk right up to whatever you wanted to look at very few times did I have to wait in line. There was a very large variety of art and history they had displayed which I appreciated and kept me interested along with displaying alot of fun facts I got to read and learn about. FYI Security will not let you take a bookbag with you they will make you check it into there closet in the front entrance.
