Visited
today
after
having
searched
for
museums
near
home
on
Google.
This
is
located
at
Shivakote
on
the
route
to
Hessarghatta
from
Jalahalli.
A
short
deviation
from
this
road
and
you
will
come
to
Dr.
Latha
Tantry's
house
in
the
midst
of
agricultural
fields,
close
to
the
Shivakote
Panchayat
Office.
A
Ph.D
in
English
Literature,
Dr.
Latha
has
been
assembling
miniature
models
from
kits
and
crafting
others
using
paper
and
other
materials
as
a
passion.
She
also
has
a
few
antique
items
-
a
phonograph,
a
clock,
a
typewriter,
a
spool
player,
etc.
All
of
which
are
displayed
on
the
second
floor
of
her
home
in
a
single
room
museum
named
Ramaneeya,
in
honour
of
her
mentor
Shri.
K
S
Raman.
She
personally
showed
us
around
and
the
tales
behind
the
exhibits
were
fascinating.
She
is
also
an
active
philatelist
and
numismatist,
and
a
small
portion
of
her
stamp
and
coin
collection
is
also
exhibited
at
Ramaneeya.
It
takes
about
an
hour
to
go
through
the
small
museum,
and
it
was
an
hour
well
spent.
The
location
shown
on
Google
Maps
is
accurate
-
just
that
the
approach
road
to
her
home
is
a
mud
road.
Visitors
could
park
on
the
tarred
road
and
walk
the
short
distance
to
Ramaneeya.
Children
and
adults
alike
would
find
something
to
interest
them
here.
Entry
to
the
museum
is
not
charged.
