The true Poets of Food!!! Every person visiting Farmlore has to understand first that, this is not a cafe or a restaurant where you have an on-hand menu and there is a list, set to cater to a particular cuisine. This is probably the only place where you get to actually pay for an experience which is truly one of a kind. Every week their menu is based on the produce they bring in for that week. This is a place for every person who appreciates food and its diverse combinations. The Farmlore chefs are true artists at what they do. We were served a 5 course meal. This does not mean 5 dishes but different combinations of a tasting session of varied foods. They gave us a culinary experience we never would forget. Every bite gave us something new to taste upon. The best part is that they try and capture a local element along with the dish which makes you respect the dish even more. I have lots to say about the place and the experience and a review alone will not suffice it. Don't think twice about visiting the place. It truly will be something you will never forget. P.S You get seats based on an invitation by procuring a ticket to a 5/10 course meal. No walk-in whatsoever!!!

A really good intro to chef’s table dining experience. The food, when we went in for lunch, was superb and imaginative. My parents have never done this sort of dining before but the chefs kept the experience inclusive and approachable. Vegetarians, no need to feel like the outsider here as the vegetarian dishes are just as thoughtful as the meat led ones. Each component of the dish is not only lovingly put together but also explained so we can experience each plate the chefs intended it We came away from the experience fully satisfied. Carry your own wine and they will chill it and serve it for you (no corkage). Great service, warm reception and all-in-all a very unique dining experience in Bangalore. Bonus: One v cute chef.

Truly theatrical experience but comes at a cost. It's a one of a kind experiential 5 course and 10 course meal concept with set menu, highlights being the location (amidst a 5 acre mango farm), knowledgeable staff with myriad experience in different cuisines who churn out different dishes everyday in 'masterchef' style, and ofcourse the food itself. Personally loved the inter play of flavours in all dishes mostly being a hit but a miss in a case or two. Very relaxed environment. Very calm. The whole place screams of organic, finest sourced ingredients including locally produced in the farm itself, best of the best staff who are very courteous and chic interiors. Suggest to go with open mind and enjoy the experience. Bonus if you get a chef s table, you can the see the preparation right in front of your eyes.

Went for our anniversary dinner and it turned out to be nothing short of a 2.5 hour performance art. The dishes, story telling, presentation, service, setting, attention to detail - it was just perfection. One of the, if not the best, dining experiences in Bangalore. They have a different menu every week based on seasonality and availability of ingredients. It's a 10 course tasting menu with the perfect portion size to make you satiated at the end. The 3 chefs were amazing hosts and genuinely interested in the feedback and sharing their stories. Coming to the food, every bite is an explosion of tastes - more like exercising your taste buds in unconventional ways. I will definitely be going back. They have a byob policy as well.

My experiences at Farmlore have been nothing short of amazing. Whether it has been a casual meal or even a celebratory one, the team has never failed to impress. Tucked inside a 37 acre property, this is truly a hidden gem worth experiencing. With their attention to detail, each element of Farmlore has a story and it takes a curious mind to appreciate the work that has been put in. In terms of food, they’ve broken stereotypes and made me appreciate the technicalities of food all the more while also treating my tastebuds to some scrumptious dishes. If you’re looking for a truly one-of-a-kind experience, this is the place to be!

If you paid 3.5k to 8k per meal then the cognitive dissonance in brain will force you into self deception to like the food else you will find hard to justify your own decision to yourself. At least, that's my theory on why this place has such a high rating. Or you can say I don't have the "class" to appreciate such fine dining. Either way, here is my review. What works? Great presentation of food items. Acceptable (but not mind blowing) taste. What doesn't? Ambience is very simple, even when the place is amidst nature and could have done much better. The quality of the table/chair is very simple. Portion sizes are horribly small, that even after the N course lunch menu (I forget, 5 or 7 or something) you aren't satiated. Of course, to their credit they do say it's a "tasting menu". The location is far from the city center as well. So in summary, you travel very far to eat a little in an unremarkable ambience and then even then have to get up hungry after paying for what could have fed 3-4 people at very fine dining restaurant otherwise. Oh yes, menu is fixed set courses. A few things I would have expected at least, apart from portion sizes just to match the class they are charging for: unlimited (non-alcoholic) drinks, good quality furniture with table clothes, good background music and lighting.

Had a great experience in Farmlore. My 1st fine Dine-in experience and it was just amazing. Visited Farmlore for dinner, it was a 10 course menu (5300/- per ticket). The dishes, plating, ambience everything's was great. The chefs & staffs were super friendly explaining about the food and place in a detailed manner. We even got a small kitchen tour at the end. We were not able to see their farm since we went for dinner. !! Ensure to reach on time !! Dinner 18:30-22:00 (be there before 19:00 so that you wont miss any of the dish). So that you can have a wholesome experience. PS: Don't mis their Gummy bear candies.😜 Cheers guys.!!🍻

The best degustation experience and service here. It was a long drive from South Bengaluru but it was worth it. A cosy place with the best chefs preparing and presenting sheer beauty on a plate. One of the best farm to table experiences. Spread across lush greenery and set in a beautiful environment. We picked the front table near the chef prep table and could see chefs operating in a well coordinated way to present pure art on the plate and every dish was scrumptious. We had chosen the 5 course lunch experience. Will definitely be there for the 10 course dinner soon.

Incredible, incredible experience from start to finish. Can’t say enough good things about the food, the staff, the ambience, the mission… Everything was perfection and I’m planning my next trip back already! Nothing like anything you’ve ever seen or tasted in Bangalore!

Sublime experience. The taste, the presentation, ambience - all packaged in a ten course meal worth savoring every bite! Highly recommended, great for couples or small groups. Edit: reading through some of the negative reviews, thought I'd add for good measure - the staff were exceedingly polite. The website clearly mentions the reason why coming on time is advised. Because timing is critical - each course is carefully prepared with temperature and texture of the ingredients intact. I hope people understand why the criticism is unfair and a fine dining experience is very much a chef's curation.

Fantastic experience, unlike any other culinary journey you’re going to have in Bangalore. The unique dishes, storytelling capacity of the creators and servers, and idyllic and extravagant presentation of everyday ingredients absolutely reeked (in a good way) of Michelin-trained chefs who know their way around food selection, taste, and visual optimization. Kudos to y’all - I can’t wait to return. Hot tip: bring your own bottle of wine! The restaurant has glasses & an opener.

Some really unusual but delightful flavours and art in every dish. The chef poured his heart out in every dish. An off beat but a beautiful setup. Looks like a Farm, feels like a farm but tastes gourmet. A well accomplished and well travelled group of chefs that have created an extraordinary experience an hour away from the bustle and hustle of the city. Booking in advance is mandatory. And do come with an open mind.

Travelled from north Bangalore to this place n was worth the experience. In the middle of mango groves is this quiet place. They only have 18 seats so plan in advance. We chose a 5 course meal. They took our dietary preference in advance. The chef did a great job explaining the dish n how to eat. The cutlery was fancy but not very functional. Dishes were unique.. from the taste I couldn't really guess as no one flavor was dominating.. loved the veg starters. Soup was at right temperature.. did a whole lot of good for my throat. Buns were fluffy For the main course we did seared brinjal with barley.. unique combination. A bit on the salty side. Dessert was yummm.. overall a great experience. Would love to go back again for the 10 course meal

One of the best dining experiences we have ever had till date by far! The care given to the quality of ingredients and the creativity that goes behind every single course comes shining through and makes it very clear that the chefs are truly passionate about what they're doing. Definitely recommended for celebrating a special occasion - the dinner ambience is lovely but I for one can't wait to go back there for a lunch sitting and enjoy the rest of the property as well!

So we finally got there after a lot of hiccups - they don’t allow late entries and we were asked to turn back the first time since we were late, so be there on time. Now coming to the food; It was a full theatre - the taste was amazing, presentation was world class and loved their hospitality through and through. It’s definitely one of its kind of experience in India, certainly at par to a Michelin star (not that Michelin star is the standard, but no other familiar way to praise). They specialise in using locally sourced ingredients and they even tell you where they source them from. It is by default a non vegetarian coursed menu and you can specify your dietary restrictions at the time of booking for them to consider that into account. We had a 10 course meal and we were full by the 6-7 course. The menu changes every week and we’d love to go back there another time!

The whole culinary experience was out of the world!! I feel Bangalore's food scene has finally arrived and food here is easily comparable to any other international menu/restaurant. We had to wait for 2 weeks to dine here but the whole degustation menu experience was worth it. It is slightly expensive but given their service, ambience and focus on food and ingredients makes it worth it. Highly recommend this place for date nights or for a small group outings. They have limited seats so check with them as early as possible. Absolutely no walk-ins are entertained. It is a true heaven for foodies who like their food not to be flavorful but not drowning in spices. I am definitely going back once again. Chef Johnson, chef Mythrayie, chef Avinnash... Take a bow! Your food is nothing but sensual. I am going to be talking about the experience and the delicacies for many more days to come!!

It’s not just food but art! We were served a variety of dishes with great vegetarian options over a 5 course meal! Food is made with fresh produce and everything has it’s purpose on the plate. It was value for money and is a great experience for special occasions! We sat at the chef’s table where you get to see them plate all the courses. Along with that they ensure it’s an immersive experience! Would recommend booking online in advance. They also gave us a tour of their farm where they grow the produce.

The 5 course meal isn't quite filling enough. Was waiting to be mind blown given the ratings, but it sadly did not meet the sky high expectations. The place is beautiful but needs more work. There's not much farm or produce growing. Theres overt focus on serve ware and glass ware. More needs to be on the meal itself. Less flaire more substance

The ten course menu was delicious. Many delicacies were prepared with minimal ingredients and tasted fresh and yum. My favourite was the starter meringue with ants, ginger and tamarind chutney. Few things that would have made the experience fully worth it - found a bone in the red mullet fish that my husband had. Also the cutlery, spoon especially was smelly. Apart from this, we enjoyed the lunch - the chefs explained the dishes well. It was very well organized, things seemed to move so seamlessly, a lot of prep to keep things going this way. So appreciate that.

One of the most unique culinary experiences bangalore has to offer!! We had the insane 10 course degustation menu which left us feeling the right amount of stuffed! The food here keeps changing so you never know exactly what you are going to get, thus leaving your fate in the trusted hands of Chef Johnson (Featured in the Michelin Guide!!!!!) and his great team! They will accommodate any food restrictions you have but make sure to get them that Information before hand instead of just showing up and telling them you are vegan, gluten free, etc. Keep an eye out for their mains, we had the lamb and on my earlier visit I had the crab, both of which absolutely blew my mind! 🤯🤯 And let's not forget that the meal also comes with multiple desserts so it's definitely something you should try!! P.S the gin and whisky gummy bears are some of the most fun things you will eat :)

It’s not a restaurant to eat but more about savoring an experience. We were there for weekend, 10 course meal. The farm is big though seating area limited to 18 pax max. There is an option to sit at chefs table and see the food getting crafter. You can strike a conversation around what, how and why if food. It’s costly but worth every penny to enjoy an experience.

It was a farm day out at Farmlore. Imagine a widespread lush green farm & food that not just looks great but tastes divine too. Paradise! Farmlore is a seamless blend of modern technique with local produce. And combined with the skill of former Noma & Michelin-starred restaurant chefs Johnson Ebenezer, Mythrayie Iyer & Avinnash Vishaal, every single dish here is sheer magic. We started with Malabar oysters in a hot pink colour that it got from tangy roselle flower granita, plated on a bed of sanketti salt. Hittu was next - with cute little ragi balls in a delicious saaru with crispy moringa shayu. The third course was Ananda, a flavourful prawn and duck dish. The main course was rice and prawn Soru that had subtle & sublime flavours. Dessert was a tart jamun sorbet, placed on a bed of chilli jam & salt that topped it all. I’m definitely coming back here for the 10-course dinner.

A gastronomic experience. A degustation menu that adds up to way more than a hearty meal, conjured up with hyperlocal ingredients, traditional cooking methods (no gas, only wood fire) and delectable proteins (we had scallops, fish, duck, mutton and even fire ants). This is a place to nourish your senses and not just fill your tummy. The missing star in food is purely due to subjective reasons - a hint of extra salt in a dish, a touch underwhelming flavours in another - minor non-issues triggered by my unreal expectations from the place. Make some time (to get there and while you're there, to stop and smell the flowers on this culinary adventure). Chef Mythrayie and her team were wonderful hosts always ready to chat with us about the food and even had an anniversary surprise for us in the form of a deconstructed cake that we alchemised into a third dessert just before we picked our bellies off the floor and staggered out. Ps. Ask for the chef's table to sit up front and watch the magicians assemble each dish for you.

I LOVED the food but it was not an elevated experience! Is the food worth the hype? Totally!! I had one of the most artistic and satisfying dishes till date, something I would have expected from a 2 or 3 michelin star restaurant. However, there were two critical negatives that left a big gap in my experience. Firstly, I was here to celebrate my wife's birthday about which I informed them in advance. Even though they assured me of something special for her, they completely forgot about it and didn't mention a thing. Secondly, I witnessed head chef reprimanding her staff in front of guests. Even though her voice was low, the situation was crystal clear and due to our seating position, it became awkward for us. Had these things not happened, it would have been a perfect experience for us. Hopefully the management can pay attention to these teething issues and improve on their selling point "dining experience".

It would be unfair to call Farmlore a restaurant . It is a mind blowing , immersive experience where cooking, plating and serving dishes is elevated to the rank of Performing Arts . Spread across 2 hours 30 mins , the 10 course tasting menu is prepared fresh , course by course ; each served with a short discourse about the ingredients and the innovative ( futuristic) cooking method employed to create it . None of the dishes are like anything eaten before and fittingly, none have a name . Flavours and tastes ,subtle and distinct. The Menu changes every day depending on what produce is available locally right then. The philosophy is “rediscovering “Locavore” traditions, cultures and its connection to our Mother Earth” , the aim being ‘sustainable gastronomy’. The bubbly young Chefs were ready to chat and show us around their kitchen . (Their specially designed wood-fired stove and oven have witty personal names that are chuckle-worthy ) . Distance from City notwithstanding , this unique dining experience was absolutely enjoyable and memorable. Kudos, Team Farmlore !

The place is quaint, and their concept is quite refreshing for sure. If you love experimenting with food and have a good mind to stomach new tastes and experiences, this is definitely the place to go. However, just 2 points of note - one with respect to the food, the other with respect to the specific time when I went there with my family - First - the food, while an epic experience is something I am glad I tried, but more out of the plating experience, the unique approach of the dish, and the innovation. But is it a place I would frequent, apart from the cost, which is obviously quite high, but still acceptable for the experience, the answer would still be no. Its a place I'd take anyone to impress, or take people who are looking for such unique experiences, but perhaps not necessarily as a regular - unique as it may be, its not as out of the world to get you back solely for the food minus the experience/approach. Second - the day we went was pre-booked for my birthday. The restaurant, with an announced approach of individualization, good service and specific limited seating "so that we can ensure a great experience to every one" was seemingly absent. When they don't take more than an 'x' number of bookings very clearly for a night - WHY would you not have enough tables and dedicated seating for those 'x' number of people? Why the need to push us a family onto the bar seating which effectively ruined the experience for me individually as with the chatter of everyone around and the distance between the four of us, we could barely have a single decent conversation. Either don't accept bookings where you can't provide a dedicated table or tell the customer at the time of the booking - this was completely unacceptable for the level of service and class they're aiming for.

It was an amazing culinary experience. One of its kind. All the dishes were curated with very minute details and that make this experience even more interesting. Each and every dish was a piece of art. Bravo to all the chefs

As a vegetarian I’m always worried when I book a five course meal. However I shouldn’t have worried with Farmlore. Warm service, and excellent food made my Friday a day to remember. The Kombucha was excellent. The vegetarian surf and turf was absolutely out of the world and the delicate rose apple ice cream ended an wonderful lunch. The portions felt just right. Go here for food served with love and creativity. Go here for quality and finesse.

Probably one of the best experiences in dining. Had a great time enjoying the Chef's take on some great Karnataka flavors. When you have chefs from some of the best Mechelin star restaurants, you are bound to be mesmerized in the 2 hour course which keeps changing on a daily basis, so no two days are the same. Must visit for a great culinary experience in Bengaluru
