Sandesh - Postal Museum in Bangalore located in Museum Road. A historical collection and experience of the path, The Indian Postal Service has traversed. Each segment has its own story to tell and takes us back to the times when they were actually being used. A unique experience especially for history and philately lovers.

I loved the museum. But disappointed to see that I was the only visitor during the whole 2 hours I spent there. More people should visit this place. Also the museum needs expansion.

Truly unique experience. This museum acts as a time-travel machine which takes one through the years of Indian Postal Evolution. One can find all the vintage artefacts here along with some of the handwritten letters from the legends. It also has a great collection of stamps and pictorial seals of the state as well as country. Each monument has its own story and it reflects the technological advancement and evolution of communication services in India. All this without an entry fee. Truly recommend this for history enthusiasts.

Definitely a good place to kids 6-9 years or if you like stamps. I took my kid to show her different modes of communication as it's a part of the syllabus. Divya who is the in charge there is very good at her work and is patient to explain about different things in the museum. She made the trip better and made me give 5 stars. Just museum is 4 stars. Remember to print a MY Stamp - with your own picture on it If you like collecting stamps, the PO next door is where u should pick it up

The best place to learn about the history of communication. There are numerous stamps, communication devices used in the olden days etc. A must visit venue for every school student as it helps the younger generation understand the growth of communication in our country

Well, for any stamp enthusiast like me, this place is worth the visit. There's also an automated quiz system wherein you get a special day cover on scoring 8 or more on 10.. This for sure will help the millennials get a glimpse of the communications before the digital era.

An unexpectedly good museum next to the museum road post office. There is hardly any awareness about this museum as is obvious from the empty halls. The artefacts are very interesting especially those showing the evolution of postal systems in the country. There are hidden gems like a letter written by Subhash chandra bose etc. Even though the campus is quite spacious, there is a slight difficulty in entering the place if you miss it on the one way. So one star less for that. Hopefully, the tourism ministry will update the place in their pamphlets to attract more people.

I recently visited Shandesh - Museum of Communication, and I must say it was a fascinating experience. The museum offers a unique and insightful journey through the evolution of communication technology. The exhibits in the museum are well-curated and provide a comprehensive overview of how communication has evolved over the years. From ancient forms of communication like hieroglyphics and smoke signals to modern technologies such as telephones and the internet, the museum beautifully showcases the progress made in the field. One aspect that impressed me was the interactive nature of the exhibits. Visitors have the opportunity to engage with various communication devices, allowing for a hands-on experience. It was exciting to try out vintage telephones, typewriters, and early mobile phones, gaining a deeper appreciation for the advancements we enjoy today. The museum also provides detailed information about the inventors and innovators who played a significant role in shaping communication technology. It's a great place for history enthusiasts and anyone interested in understanding how communication has revolutionized human interaction. The staff at Shandesh - Museum of Communication were friendly and knowledgeable, ready to answer any questions and provide additional insights. The museum itself is well-maintained and offers a comfortable and engaging environment for visitors. Overall, my visit to Shandesh - Museum of Communication was both educational and enjoyable. I highly recommend it to anyone seeking to explore the fascinating world of communication and its impact on society.

Nice philately museum with Indian stamps. You will enjoy the visit. Ticket is ₹25. Photography is prohibited 🚫. You can carry your mobile phone but do not click pictures. There is a huge collection of Indian stamps on display. Urge Stamp lovers to come and see this place. There is an evening post office here which is open from 1 pm to 9 pm. Here you can buy Stamps, covers, etc. You can also visit the Philatelic Museum located at Bangalore GPO, Raj Bhavan Rd, Ambedkar Veedhi

A great museum in the centre of Bengaluru. Have a huge collection of stamps and postal items. Entry ticket is ₹25 per head and it was worth the time spent over there. The attendant at the counter was helpful and explained to me the history of the current building and how the street came to be known as Museum Road.

One of the best places to visit and go through the nostalgia of the Postal System and its evolution. Such rare items are kept here for display. Newly renovated and inaugurated on 18.05.2023. The new look is just too good. Very neatly done and maintained. Entry tickets are 25Rs for adults and 10Rs for Children.

Sandesh Museum is an excellent place to visit for philately lovers. Not sure why it is not well advertised. Lots of stamp collection depicting the history of Indian Postal Service

Great to see history of Indian Post, lot of interesting items and trivia. The exhibition itself can be made better in terms of flow and experience, but great effort, the staff was very helpful in explaining all exhibits. It’ll be good if they can reintroduce sale of post cards in the museum.

A must see place to learn about details about changes in communication and great philatelic collection So the review of the place goes like this, enter looking at the beautiful colorful wall depicting the history of india, world and heritage and postal beauties. You will need to spend time to read this and observe the beautiful stamps accompanying the wall. Some of them are timeless beauties Next room is communication room with pho, telegraph, uniforms of postal department, cancelation of postal department and so much things to see and admire. Each artifact is numbered so you can read about it on notes Put across the artifact. You enter the last room and surprise yourself to all those beautiful envelopes, stamp exhibits and amazing cancelled covers. You need to spend real long time if you want to check each stamp and learn about it. And cancelled envelope are. Beautiful too. Do sign the guest book and learn more about it from person on duty. Mr.Madhu Kiran who was there in stamp room tool time explain about things, showed some staMps and also gave couple of envelopes for my young one. Do spend time and visit this new jewel of Bangalore and more important sandesh timeless communication museum.

Great place to visit with helpful staff. The person in charge was knowledgeable and she helped us get personalized stamps for us called My Stamps. The museum itself is eye opening and has brief history of postal service in India and across the world. The collection is wonderful and you can easily spend couple of hours if you are interested in philately.
