Traditional market in Yogyakarta, this is a famous market near malioboro street. You can find everything you need (batik, t-shirt, merchandise, bags, shoes, food, fruits, traditional stuff, etc). Price are very affordable, you can do some bargaining with the sellers to get the price that suits you. The local sellers are very friendly. Better to visit in the morning. This market open at 08.00 am - 04.00 pm.

A lot of things you can buy for souvenir, batik dress, batik shirt, batik pants, bag, shoes, you name it. the price is so affordable compare with store around Malioboro. for advise you have to prepare cash to shopping here, cause many of the seller only received cash and m-banking payment and the ATM centre is quite far.

A favorite traditional market in Malioboro Yogyakarta, consisting of three sections: batik section, dry market and wet market. Recommended to explore all sections, and you may find many local products. I found it quite neat. And...your ability to bargain will be tested :D

Comfortable place to buy gifts for family members. Most of the promoters and shop owners are really nice. However, good food is hard to find here so you must go to Malioboro street to find a place to eat

traditional markets since before the Dutch colonial era began. this is the biggest market in Yogyakarta. Concurrently as a tourist center selling antique items, handicrafts and historical books. Here also sells a variety of food and clothing. Local people also like to shop here because the price is relatively cheap compared to prices in modern supermarkets. It's fun to shop here or just go for a free time.

One of the biggest market in Yogyakarta. Located in Jalan Malioboro, the most crowded street in Yogyakarta that always full of tourist. Traditional snacks and food, home appliances, fruits, vegetables, fashion are all here. Looking for batik, here is the place.

Like hot summer like always, center mart of Jogja. You can try traditional transportation, traditional street foods and specialy some historical places. I wonder how it be if I go on there at night. Lovely.

This place is a clothes and many kinds of other things (mostly clothes for as far as i see). So many options of fabrics such as batik, clothes, T-shirts, and many choices for the eyes. The most important thing to do in this area is Bargaining to the max. If you do not bargain, the price will be the same as in the stores or boutique. The T-shirt is quite affordable with 35 thousands rupiah each (and some with lower quality is 20 thousand).

A market that always attracts me, where I look for batik sheets for 1 set, I buy 145k, woven curtains for windows 70k and doors 85k, I also hunt for jogger pants and batik negligee, all for 100k for 3 pcs. Too bad I lost "mbah mbah" who sells pecel rice, it used to be next to the main door. It's delicious though

Visit this traditional market on weekday mornings and you can browse for trinkets and traditional food. Love the architecture, plenty of air shafts to allow breeze inside. Friendly store keepers, we look for herbal stuff here. Street food cooked on wood-fired stoves is at the east end of the market.

Traditional market to get some souvenirs with mid-low budget but still good for you to take back from Yogyakarta. Old vibes of Yogyakarta also make good vibes for your photo collection here. There are so many kinds of souvenirs, snacks, and signature foods of Yogyakarta here. Not far from 0 kilometer points of Yogyakarta

It's a traditional market of Jogjakarta. You can find all your daily needs for your kitchen and more. You also can find traditional delicacies here, whether to be consumed at the moment or to bring it back to your hometown to be shared with relatives and friends. Price: affordable, but you need to be able to appraise the items for the best deal. Parking: it's always be a problem to get a parking space here, especially during holiday season. Hospitality: mostly, the sellers are friendly. Atmosphere: just like any other traditional market in Indonesia, they were crowded.

The right place to look for merchandise, such as lurik, bakpia etc. It's quite hot when you enter the place at noon, because the place is indoor and the aisles are quite narrow, the catch here beside those flaw above, the price can be pretty cheap, if you bargaining the prices with seller

Located at the heart of Jogja city center, just around the corner of Malioboro street. It’s walking distance to/from the Landmark Post Office, North Alun-Alun, 0 KM point etc. the market has almost thousands shops, you can find anything from clothes, batik, traditional foods and classic goods. But you cannot parking your car there you need to find out another building. Enjoy walking at the pedestrian to Vredeburg etc.

It's a better market than it used to, just make sure to bargain hard if you shipped at the ground floor shop. But if you go to 2nd or 3rd floor, th price is fixed.

The most famous market in Yogyakarta. It has many products to shop generally cloths. Batik is the stuff that you must shop here, because you can get a high quality batik with a cheap price. Don't forget to make a bid, sometimes the seller give the high price.

Now. This market looks so clean and presentable. Any hidden gems in 3rd floor. The first floor sell any various of batik. The price it's negotiable for tourist or local people. The atmosphere of this place is good for us. The using of masker and handsanitizer in this place is very helpfully.

If you looking batik from the cheapest to the most expensive, souvenirs, and local food you can found here. Proven your bargaining skill with local seller for gorgeous batik!

  • 4/5 Laily L. 2 years ago on Google
Good place to buy batik with a very reasonable price. Howevet, the sellers are too close to each other and overcrowded. Merchandise is stacked carelessly and the display is less attractive. It is somehow very hard to find what we are really looking for.

  • 4/5 Devanda Mellinia N R. 2 years ago on Google
Like any kind market, they sold almost everything like clothes and etc. Its full of people so be careful. But the price is very cheap and the quality is so good.

  • 5/5 Dan H. 4 years ago on Google
Sprawling huge local market that sellers virtually everything. Huge batik section and once inside there are several levels to explore. There is a section serving cooked food, fresh vegetables, raw meat, fresh fish and poultry. Preserved goods and fried goods. Plenty to explore.

  • 4/5 CS C. 5 years ago on Google
Batik, batik and more batik. If you are a batik lover, this is the place for you. It housed in a 3 storey building. The ground floor is totally occupied by shops selling everything made of batik and it is the hive of activity there. The two upper floors have shops selling assorted types of clothes and cosmetics. Very crowded especially the ground floor area. Watch out for the multi-coloured dustbins in the middle of the walkway.

I would recommend you spend time exploring the deeper tenant because I've found this Batik Store named Erina & Toli in the upper ground with more unique and beautiful batik pants.

One stop center for souvenirs. Bags, t shirt, herbs/jamu, traditional wear, toys & many more. But Most shops can't bargain much. Going early in the morning is better. Not crowded. Got people offering services to carry your stuffs.

Traditional market for souvenirs especially for bargained clothes such as batik, pajamas, and traditional yogyakarta uniforms

  • 4/5 Agus P. 11 months ago on Google
There are 2 sides to Pasar Beringharjo. The 'front' side which is famous for the batik & gift shops, it's directly accessible from Jl Malioboro. The 'real' wet market is on the back side, the main entrance is from Jl. Mataram. Like most wet markets, it's open early in the morning. On the first level you can find fresh meats (butchery), cooking ingredients and restaurants. Chicken satay is highly recommended, fresh meat and barbecued using traditional wood charcoal grills.
