Your visit is incomplete when you visit Yogyakarta but did not try Thiwul. This infamous Thiwul is located in Imogiri, on your way to Pine Forest Mangunan. Perfect for group visit with large parking and such a tasty food. Their innovation with other variants of Thiwul such as chocolate, cheese, etc, are a great move!

A legendary snacks store in the hilly Mangunan tourist resort offering Javanese traditional snacks from fermented cassava like thiwul and gathot. Signature: thiwul with unique variants (chocolate, cheese etc.). Dine in or take away. Dried instant thiwul and gathot are also available with directions for cooking. Don't forget the Thiwul Oven, ... crunchy sweet thiwul chips. There's also a rich variety of other traditional and popular snacks. Inexpensive. Clean restrooms with squat style toilets and musholla shared with the Mbok Sum Restaurant (under the same management). A spacious parking yard for motorbikes and cars. Buses can park at the vast parking yard next to it.

This restaurant have lots of traditional menu, such as : tiwul (must buy menu),fried chicken (ayam kampung) with very spicy sauce, vegetables or lalapan, beancurd, etc. The tiwul is soft n delicious with a big portion. I suggest to eat when it still warm, very yummy. I love the brown sugar (gula jawa) tiwul. Price is cheap but taste delicious. They have indoor n outdoor room, clean toilets, large parking area. The location is around Mangunan, not far from Pinus Pengger, hutan pinus & Kebun Buah Mangunan.

This place specialize in thiwul (or tiwul), a local delocacy from Yogyakarta, prepared from steam dried casava (locally know as gaplek), simply sprinkled with sugar or mixed with local brown sugar. They also sell delicious fried free-range chicken (mostly rooster), served with spicy sambal mentah and fresh vegies

The restaurant serves authentic local food such as Nasi tiwul ayam. Variative menu & delicious taste. The place is easy to reach, quite clean, provides toilets, mushola and large parking area. Unfortunately very slow service. Order in advance will help to enhanche the service. Recommended.
