I used to come here often but since winco opened less so. Don't get me wrong I still come here but they never have enough cashiers. Like today I come here at 10:30 p.m. and they only have 3 cashiers and every line is lined up to the freezers. I have written corporate but they don't care. They say there is not enough labor. Update: January 2023 I like the fact Foodmaxx has totally revamped this store. They have finally installed self checkout lanes albeit too little, too late. The self checkout only has four registers and on some days they don't even have enough labor to have a cashier there to monitor them. On those days, which I am surprised is too frequent, there are only two cashiers to alleviate the long lines they have. I still shop here because of familiarity and proximity to work. July 5, 2023 I got to the checkout lane at around 6 PM today and they already had the self checkout lanes closed. I suppose not enough help to maintain the self check. Anyway, they had three cashiers working and the line I was in only had one customer ahead. I happened to go to Walmart afterward and did notice the produce prices are higher at WalMart but general groceries were the same or slightly lower than FoodMaxx. Still, I like coming here even though the familiar faces I usually see have moved on or retired.

Friendly and knowledgeable staff, nice big store, variety of products, clean inside store and busy parking lot. Prices are ok a bit pricey for certain items.

This Food Maxx has recently undergone a big update with all new refrigeration cabinets, produce wall, shelving, and more. This has been our favorite local store for many years because prices are great. Now it has an even larger selection of goods as well and everything is fully stocked. The store looks really great. In my opinion, this is the best grocery store in the Yuba-Sutter area.

They have reduced the brands they carry and there were many empty or sparsely stocked shelves. Always a hassle to check out as they usually only have 2 registers open and no self checkout or express line. Easier places to go with comparable or lower prices Update 6-21-2022 They have been doing a great job keeping prices down and their shelves are well stocked

Well! I was looking for a deal on frozen combo pizzas. Thought I struck gold at Sam's Club. 3 pack of DiGiorno sold for $16.28. Stopped by Yuba City FoodMaxx, and they were selling the same 3-pack for $9.98. SHAZAM! Knock me down and call me Bertie! Took Sam's purchase back and picked up two 3-packs for $19.96. That's like getting 6 pizzas for $3.30 more! HOW DO YOU BEAT THAT! Oh yeah! The store is laid out nicely. Produce is good. Frozen food dept. is top notch. Check-out can be lengthy. But, if you don't have much, they have 4 or more self Check-out stands. And, they accept Visa/MasterCard. That way you gets your reward points. OUTSTANDING! OOOH RAAAH!

Within the last 6 months or so they remodeled the inside so it's taken me a while to get used to the new setup but it's put together in a better floor plan so I like it. Especially, I like the new freezers they added in there it keeps my frozen Goods colder so they're not halfway defrosted by the time I get home LOL. The only thing keeping this from a five-star rating is that usually only have one or maybe two registers open even during the weekends when it's really busy. That being said they have some of the best meat in town especially the $25 meat pack that they have it's normally $35 or more worth of meat that you get for $25 heck of a deal! Thanks for your time for reading my review and have a wonderful life.

They have redone the entire store and kept it functional during that process which is amazing because it's a very busy grocery store

I have been shopping at this place since I can remember but just in my own experiences of shopping since I turned 18 and after the last 25 years have been great. They have awesome service I know 50% of the employees by name and I think it's a great place to shop. I do admit I missed the 24-hour service but they still stay open till midnight everyday.

Always have to contemplate on shopping here. They never have enough cash registers open. And very frustrating that not even self check out is available, seems to always be shut down before 6:30pm. I always have to make the extra trip to Winco after because they are always out of something; I was very disappointed with my last visit.

Be careful in buying meat there. I bought t bone steaks at this Yuba City FoodMaxx and I marinated one day and barbecued them. The meat tasted horrible! I thought I was getting a bargain but I was wrong. Lousy selection and the worst gamey meat. . I don’t know where they get the meat from but I had to smother it in barbecue sauce to eat it:/

I really like it there prices are mostly good summer a little too high their selection isn’t very good right now though I wish they would get more stock like they have a good variety they just need more stock of the items

It's a good place to shop for the groceries I need, convenient location close to my residence, they even have a self checkout now so no more waiting in line.

I love FoodMaxx. We go there often. Some things are too pricey but most of the items I get are better priced than Walmart....and I hate going to walmart. Friendly service. Not many people around the store if you are looking for something you can't find....but I do like them and go there often.

I had an accident with an employee, Lupita. My son dropped a glass beverage and she was being rude and blaming us. We tried helping her and we apologized but she started insulting my son and I. I paid for the beverage and left. I’ve had other experiences that seemed as if she didn’t like when she had to scan my groceries. I feel as if it’s racially motivated because I’ve seen her be welcoming and helpful to other customers but not me. I’m Muslim and I wear the hijab and it’s disheartening to come to this establishment with someone like that as a worker treating me as if I’m a nuisance.

I just love this place. I have been grocery shopping at this place for the last 15 years and I never had a single problem. The staff are great, always smiling, annd always friendly. Thank you, we appreciate you 🙏🙏🙏

i went to the foodmaxx yesterday and the cashier Lupita was incredibly rude not only to me but to the customers in another line over. Not only was she texting while we were waiting for her to scan our items, but she also tossed most of our groceries onto the conveyor instead of setting them down or sliding them. she was full on TOSSING them. and the people on the next lane over just needed help with their WIC stuff and she was yelling at them that they just need to figure it out and just being hostile all around. something needs to be done about her and her attitude. those new parents just needed some help and she treated them like trash

Foodmaxx is dirty, unorginized, unhappy unfriendly employees and the selection of items is dissapointing. The produce isnt the greatest, meat is average and they overprice everything... the lines are always long and they have self checkout but they close it down very, lack of staff im assuming. I try my hardest to avoid foodmax but it is close to my house so sometimes its a convience thing. Overall im usually dissapointed and irritated when i have to spend money here.

Most employees are very unprofessional and argue with each other in front of customers. The bathrooms are always dirty with pee on the floor and never any soap or paper products in the evening. There's one female cashier with a pony tail and glasses that has the best customer service out of all the employees, the male employee that argued with her was a jerk!
