(Translated by Google) I lived there in 1978 and then it was ok. Although at that time it was still a care facility, the State Youth House "House at the Market Square". A two-story building with an interesting façade, facing the New Town Square, was built around the mid-seventeenth century. It has survived in an unchanged form from the beginning of its existence. Probably in the mid-nineteenth century, the owner donated the building for educational and upbringing purposes. ANOTHER HAPPENED IN THEM: 1855 - 1900 Crafts School Stanisław Konarski 1900 - 1914 Female progimnazjum 1918 - 1938 Universal School 1938 - 1944 Children's Home (for girls) 1946 - 1952 Children's Home Of the Unknown Soldier (for orphans of missing officers of the WWII during the war) 1955 - 1980 State Children's Home No. 6 (for boys) 1980 - 1986 The State House of Youth "House at the Market Square" 1986 2006 Ośrodek Szkolno-Wychowawczy No. 1 "House at the Market Square" from - 2006 Youth Sociotherapy Center No. 5 "House at the Market Square" (Original) Mieszkałem tam w roku 1978 i wtedy było ok. Chociaż wtedy to była jeszcze placówka opiekuńcza, Państwowy Dom Młodzieży "Dom przy Rynku". Dwupiętrowy budynek z ciekawą elewacją, frontem zwrócony do Rynku Nowego Miasta został zbudowany około połowy XVII wieku. Przetrwał w niezmienionej zewnętrznej formie od początku istnienia. Prawdopodobnie w połowie XIX wieku właściciel przekazał budynek na cele oświatowo-wychowawcze. KOLEJNO MIEŚCIŁY SIĘ W NIM: 1855 - 1900 Szkoła Rzemieślnicza im. Stanisława Konarskiego 1900 - 1914 Progimnazjum żeńskie 1918 - 1938 Szkoła Powszechna 1938 - 1944 Dom Dziecka (dla dziewcząt) 1946 - 1952 Dom Dziecka im. Nieznanego Żołnierza (dla sierot po zaginionych w czasie wojny oficerach W.P.) 1955 - 1980 Państwowy Dom Dziecka nr 6 (dla chłopców) 1980 - 1986 Państwowy Dom Młodzieży "Dom przy Rynku" 1986 2006 Ośrodek Szkolno-Wychowawczy nr 1 "Dom przy Rynku" od - 2006 Młodzieżowy Ośrodek Socjoterapii nr 5 "Dom przy Rynku"

It was overall a pretty nice place. The kitchen was well stocked with lots of plates, bowls, and other necessary utensils. (You'd be surprised how many places lack bowls and graters).WiFi was good. No air conditioning though, which is annoying midsummer. The shower was also problematic. It only had two temperatures: scalding and freezing. Naturally, this made showers a lengthy, frustrating process as you could only stay under the water for a few seconds during the short 'transition periods' as the water changed from boiling to arctic, or vice versa. This was the only real problem, but it certainly detracted from the overall experience. The only reason it's not 3 stars is cause the TV had a lot of channels, so I was able to keep myself entertained.

Friendly service. Beds are nog very comfortabel, but will do for 1 night. The name CityHostel is not visible on the outside. Wifi and electricity are fine. Doors not with pass but key.

I spent there only one night, but I must admit, it was one of the lovliest hostels I ever stayed in. Stuff is friendly and helpful. Rooms are clean and tidy as well as bathroom. Another advantage is low price and great location: it's situated in the Old Town, where you can reach all the most beautiful places within 5 minutes.
