The training lasted an hour, most people knew the techniques very well, and some of the exercises, in fact most of them, were done in contact with a partner! At one point, the coach came up to me and asked why I didn't have shin guards (sic!). I replied that it was my first time and I didn't know it was necessary, which was answered with a short "you have to". In my opinion, it is (please forgive the colloquialism) a bad idea to buy equipment before I even know whether it is for me or not, whether I will like the new sport or not. It's a good thing that I did some kickboxing training last year, because I would have hurt myself even more and I was bruised the whole next week. A huge minus is the lack of rectangular targets for training kicks. Generally, as the name suggests, it is a fighting club, and rather for advanced people. I would by no means call this place a martial arts school, much less a self-defense school. I won't come there again. It's a pity, because it's a nice place. P.S. The locker room is tragically small for the number of people exercising. The smell of sweat is unbearable. In general, it was so stuffy in the room that the effort was felt three times more.
