Very special tomb representing Poland history. You can see soldiers next to the tomb and you may be able to watch the changing of guards as well.

Am in Warsaw again, June 2023, so have come to the Tomb of the unknown Soldier again. I waited 45 minutes or so, to see the soldiers march up to the Tomb and change over with the previous guards. Prior to this, two other soldiers came up, saluted to the guards, then checked over the flower tributes inside and picked up some litter outside, that someone had dropped. I thought this was quite remarkable and respectful👍😀 I was pleased to see the soldiers change over again. Last year when I visited here, there was digging machines behind the fencing, surrounding each side of the Tomb, as you approached. This time, I viewed through the fencing today to see that they have uncovered the foundations of the Palace that once stood here!😱 it was a huge place looking at it now. I do hope they can restore it all one day. My first visit. 2022. I saw the soldiers marching across the square to the monument. A very official moment. Viewed the tomb within the monument, where there are two guards permanently there. A special moment to honour the unknown soldier, its very respectful👍 Apparently, there used to be a huge Palace here😱 you only see part of what used to be there! It was destroyed by communists back in the day, to eliminate Polish history!😡 I timed it perfectly to be there, not sure how many times a day, the 3 soldier's march across the square? I was only there about 15 minutes to take all this in, so only a quick visit. Had lunch in the huge gardens behind it after. I am due to visit Warsaw again soon, so I will come back and visit here again, its worth coming here, a special place.😀

The Tomb of the Unknown Soldier  is a monument dedicated to the unknown soldiers who have given their lives for Poland. It is one of many such national tombs of unknowns that were erected after World War I and at the same time the most important such monument in Poland. We were lucky that we were there at 14:00 on Sunday and could see the changing of the guards.

A somber memorial dedicated to the unknown soldiers who gave their lives for Poland. The tomb is lit by an eternal flame, and is guarded continuously by the Polish Armed Forces. A special place to visit at night when it is beautifully lit up.

Place looks absolutely gorgeous! The Tomb of the Unknown Soldier is a monument located in Warsaw, Poland, that commemorates the sacrifice and service of Polish soldiers who have died in defense of their country. The tomb is located in Piłsudski Square, one of the most important public spaces in the city.

Visiting Warsaw, Poland you have to add this to your trip. Both times I went on vacation there I enjoyed the changing of the guards. It is such a proud culture and their past is so amazing. I was able to experience it with two people that are so very special to me. I would do it again and again. There is a beautiful park behind the site and a great old city to walk minutes away.

The monument is found next to a little park in the central area of town. It is very nice to visit, the soldiers are standing inside of it next to the fire. In front of it a huge square with flags and and massive white cross

It is really one of the special places in Poland, one everyone in this country knows about, visited perhaps even, but at least heard about and saw on tv. If you get a chance, you should see this place. Lucky might even see change of guard, or a defilade!

Beautiful memorial to the unknown soldiers, a must see if you're in Warsaw. It is lit by an eternal flame that doesn't go out, there are always two guards standing and if you go at some specific hours, you can see the changing of guards too

There are guards “guarding” this monument. If this is like the one in Ottawa, the guards are more ceremonial but it is considered an honour to be positioned here to guard. Generally, people are being respectful here. The monument leads to a nice park with plenty of foliage and bench seating to hide from the sun.

It was great to see the changing of the guard at the tomb of the unknown soldier today. The building is amazing and the ceremony was an experience. The movement of the guards is precise and completely in unison.

You really have to understand what happened to Warsaw during WW2. It was totally levelled. It has been rebuilt modelled on old pictures and photographs. The hourly changing of the guard should remind you that everything, how matter how old it looks has been constructed since the war.

Extremely poignant monument. Listing the notable battles of the Polish Forces and People. Immaculately presented and guarded. Representing the huge sacrifice of the Polish People and honouring the Country's history. Respect.

Beautiful monument, there is an eternal flame guarded by honour guard and tablets with names and dates of battles in which Polish soldiers had fought. The changing of the guard takes place every hour.

Somber place. Easily accessible at Pilsudski Square. I suggest catching the changing of the guard. It happens every hour on the hour. It’s professionally well done and to the point. Remember the Fallen.

Wzruszające miejsce. Tribute to Polish soldiers. So many died around the world defending borders and fighting for others. Their names remain unknown but we will remember.

For all the Polish soldiers that died for their country. Pleas be respectful of the site. The eternal flame is guarded by 1st Guards Battalion. The changing of the guard takes place every full hour. The memorial inside by the flame states "Here lies a Polish soldier fallen for the Homeland".

Epic place. Soldiers rotate on a constant watch. It’s considered as highest honor. While visiting you should behave peacefully and with outmost respect.

Very nice and peacefull place, full of respect. The Tomb is a monument dedicated to the unknown soldiers who have given their lives for this country. In Poland, there is a lot of unknowns tombs from War. The tomb is constantly lit by an eternal flame. The changing of the guard takes place every full hour, every day, whole year. The main ceremonial changing of the guards is at noon on Sunday (if you can you should come and watch it). Also here is a very nice park where you can relax.

Very impressive monument, with fire and guards on such a large place, neighbored by a nice park. The way the monument is presented makes it seem like it's a big deal / something really important - I don't know enough about history to judge what the monument is about, though

It is a wonderful and very moving place that pays you to respect and appreciate the soldiers, conflicts and battles that Poland went through. It is located on the edge of the great national park (Saxon Garden) in a place full of patriotic and military atmosphere. Two soldiers guard the shrine throughout the day and night, changing every hour in a continuous movement, and it is lit by an eternal flame that does not go out. It is one of the most venerable places in Warsaw worth visiting.
