One of the worst universities in Katowice, if not in Silesia. The organization of the lesson plan is terrible, the approach and contact with students are even worse. Meetings for part-time students are held every week, there is no time to finish the numerous projects. The scientific staff has no practical knowledge, most of the lecturers have not worked a single hour in the profession they teach about. Required literature is often from 20 years ago. The lecturers' task is to humiliate and point out to students that they do not have specific knowledge, rather than to convey it. The school treats students instrumentally - the most important thing is the student's money, not the student himself. The regulations are applied selectively, always to the student's disadvantage. Give this place a wide berth, it's a parody of a higher education institution.

There were more specific things, not just useless, typical book knowledge (yes, I know, that's the charm of studies, but really some things were so theoretical and useless that it hurts). The more specialized the subjects, the greater the level of culture of the lecturers. You have to be careful with promoters, there are great individuals, but there are also those who will not help and will still complain that they can be accused of something. In my opinion, the level of distance learning was quite good, although it would be possible to record and upload these lectures/exercises for students, because then it is easier to prepare for the exam. I am leaving my previous opinion below, because unfortunately such situations also happened. I absolutely do not recommend the university. Poor quality of teaching, teachers are most often anti-student, and sometimes they are downright rude and insulting (!) students for things they had no control over. There is no sign of improvement, in fact it is getting worse with each passing year. If you still have the opportunity to choose another university, I recommend you seriously consider it, you won't gain anything by going here.

From the perspective of an EU graduate in Katowice, I am not too thrilled with the level of teaching. I can recommend a full-time bachelor's degree in business analytics to anyone who feels confident in mathematical sciences. At this stage, I met many experienced professors who clearly have a lot of knowledge, but it is worse when it comes to passing it on to students. What can I say about the exercises and the laboratory? I had the pleasure of meeting lecturers who wanted the student to understand the issues discussed, but there were often gems (usually with a master's degree or a newly minted doctorate) who most likely missed their calling and conducted the classes forcefully (they were unable to convey knowledge and at the same time demanded God knows what...) Part-time Master's studies turned out to be a big mistake... I can count on one hand how many teachers I could really sincerely thank for the classes they conducted. Unfortunately, the tuition fees do not match the quality of teaching at this university. I found out that the university authorities stubbornly stand on the side of the lecturers, even if they do something against the regulations to the detriment of the student... What a mockery! Student service in the dean's office is a great plus. I have always found very nice, specific and helpful employees! 🙂 I advise students to be careful with "anonymous" surveys regarding the quality of education, which they complete after the last classes in a given subject. It turns out that these surveys are so anonymous that the teacher can easily find out which group rated him this way and not differently, and if you meet the same teacher in the next semester, the chances for a friendly atmosphere in the classes disappear...😅 I give these 3 stars because I would like to thank my supervisors, who clearly cared about the student preparing the thesis at a high level and getting a good grade.

The last 10 minutes at this university were enough for me to change my plans regarding taking up further studies. 20 minutes late, 1 out of 3 ladies actively listening, 2 out of 3 ladies actively interrupting. I managed to say the first 5 words before the committee had time to interrupt me and decide on a different question. I wasn't sure if I was defending myself or fighting for the right to vote. I don't try to find out whether it's the late defense date, my slow thinking process or the assumption that because I don't have a 5.0 average, I can be discredited... What is surprising in this story is that the University of Silesia, hated by all of Poland, is able to conduct a key exam for a student so that he does not feel like a flower on the windowsill.
