Very clean and organised place. Came form London to visit this place and definitely recommend a visit. Tourist pay only 10 dinar at this place. There is very big market just walkable from the museum if you fancy local traditional Market. Some more local attractions are close to this place people are very kind and welcoming. If arabic is not a known language for you French will work every where.

If you’re staying in Sousse, or even just passing through, this museum is definitely worth a stop. Only 12DT per person. One to three hours depending on how much time you take exploring. The museum itself is not huge, but you can also look around the entire property. I’ve never been to a mosaic museum before, and it was super impressive. We also found a couple tortoises in the gardens!

The second biggest museum in the country, with the second biggest mosaic collection. An outstanding setting and very creative way to exhibit the unique pieces. It also holds a special initiative for visually impaired persons. The staff is very nice and professional. During my last visit, a guide was making the tour with a tourist and he kindly invited me to join them, which made my experience more insightful!

This museum has one of the best collection of mosaics in Tunisia. Truly stunning and magnificent pieces, such as the baptesterion (one of only three found in the country), Medusa, Bacchus, the actors, and others, many of them fresh and almost intact. The presentation generally helps you appreciate their artistic value, although this is not always easy as many of them are massive. It was one of my most memorable experiences from Tunisia!

Good location to hide from the heat, however the main exhibits are mosaics along with some interesting punic stones. The courtyard, whis is actually citadel is interesting and has nice views, but quite empty.

Very interesting museum with lots of exhibitions. The garden is very immersive, and the views from the terrace are beautiful. There are lots of pieces for history lovers. The museum is also adapted to blind people with special descriptions in braille and pieces that are intended to be touched. The ticket price was 5 TND (~1.5€) for people coming from the Maghreb (Morocco, Tunisia, Algeria, Mauritania, Libya). The staff is extremely friendly and welcoming.

The Roman mosaics, vases and sculptures are very good preserved most of them are from second and third century A.D. Some of the mosaics are explaining almost everything about North Africa. If you are in Souse then it’s a museum that must to be seen.

After the Bardo Museum in Tunis, this is the second best collection of artefacts in Tunisia! As you descend down the stairs, your jaw also drops in wonder at the marvellous and detailed mosaics that decorate the walls and floors of the museum. Incredible and true masterpieces that have survived, in some cases, thousands of years

The Archaeological Museum of Sousse is a Tunisian museum located in the city of Sousse, the ancient Hadrumeto. It has the largest collection of mosaics in Tunisia. The Archaeological Museum of Sousse was founded in 1951 and occupies part of the old Kasbah of Sousse built from the 9th century. Located on what is now Marshal Tito Avenue, it replaces a smaller structure that existed in the European city

(Translated by Google) Installed in the Kasbah, an already prestigious building in itself, it collects artifacts from the Punic-Roman city of Hadrumetum. Of particular historical interest is the collection of Punic stems. The rich display of mosaics comes from excavations, usually occasional, of Roman domus found in the area; unfortunately most of the mosaics lack the indication of the domus of origin; and for the domus there is no map to help locate them in the area. One has the impression of a conspicuous use of resources for caretaking, at the expense of elaboration and presentation for usability.

For a small museum it’s quite packed with incredible mosaics, marble busts, and pottery. There is also some great background info posted around so nothing is without context. Doesn’t quite make up for the Bardo and Carthage museums being closed but it was such a great experience.

(Translated by Google) wonderful place. It contains many effects that go back a long time and the best officials in the place to monitor and pay attention to it. Even the heritage organization is distinctly organized, so there are rooms and each room is specialized in a specific type of heritage. A very, very special teacher. I just hope more interest in reception, it is recommended that there be no Guide.

The museum is housed in the Kasbah of Sousse's Medina, which was founded in the 11th century AD. It was established in 1951. The museum reopened its doors to the public in 2012, after the collections were rearranged and the edifice was renovated. It contains the second largest collection of mosaics in the world after that of the Bardo National Museum in the capital Tunis.

This museum lies against the outside of the city wall, and is fairly easy to get to if you are wandering the Medina. Otherwise it is located on a significant road, so you can get a taxi to it easily. Cost was around 10 TND per adult and child was free on our visit in Feb 2019. It was a fairly quiet day while we were there which gave us space to see the museum and courtyard and views from the building. The display areas are very modern while the building itself is the old fortress. We had wanted to see the Tunis Bardo Museum mosaics but that wasn’t going to work out, so we made sure we got to this museum. What we saw here far exceeded our expectations - there are some remarkable mosaic examples on display and other interesting and very old artifacts from the area. Several of the mosaics are simply spectacular, and the collection has a good range of eras and styles on display. It certainly helps to know a bit of history of/from the region first, so don’t do this on your first day. We sent about 2 hours there, and our child found plenty to see and examine... which made things easier as a traveling family. Some items you may need to explain or point out context for their historical context for your kids. It is easy to miss some of the details in the mosaics if you don’t read the plaques carefully (that goes for both adults and children!). Item descriptions are written in Arabic, French and English.

I liked that a lot. Very nice mosaics and the view on the city. We did not pay anything because my husband is Tunisian and the country is trying to support the culture, however the entrance costs normally about 10 dinars. There are not many people, there were more workers than clients. It was very quiet and nice. I can recommend it!

The best collection of Roman mosaics I have ever had the pleasure of seeing outside of Rome itself. Well preserved and very well displayed. Beautiful! Congratulations to all those who brought it all together. 10 Dinar for adult ticket (aprox £3). You may also like to visit the Roman Arena at El Jem and it's nearby museum which also proudly houses a great display of mosaics & remains of the local town.

What a delight! This is an outstanding museum in every way. It is limited I'm scope-- Punic and Roman items from the immediate region-- so it is a focused collection and presentation. But these are magnificent items-- mosaics, statues, funerary items, a fabulous baptistry that looks like a hot tub designed by Gaudi. The space and presentation create a contemplative but not somnolent equilibrium. There's a reason this museum has such a strong Google maps rating. Believe it.
