Beautiful place. I loved every bit of it. The ocean view remains my best. Waking up to the sound of the ocean and opening my balcony door to inhale the fresh air makes me want to go back. The customer service was good. I used the services of Danza Travels and Tours Ltd to get the hotel and it was worth it.

The hotel is in bad need of renovations. My room was falling apart and the bathroom had an odor my entire stay. My bed was very firm and the sheets pretty rough. The staff was friendly as everyone says and the food was fine, but to get anywhere you need a taxi. Just not as nice as the pictures portray, and it was on the higher price point compared to other 3 stars.

A great hotel far from the hustle bustle of central stone town, not very far though just around 10 min drive, there is shops and pharmacy available in the surrounding area, Clean & Luxurious hotel and well mannered and helpful staff. Its sea facing but you cannot go swim in the beach so thats just a disadvantage

My husband and I stayed at this location from Feb 10th - 15th. Arriving at this location the front of this hotel is absolutely beautiful. The lobby is nice and clean. The hotel reception was not really professional. It took forever for us to get to our room. Room Pros My husband and I stayed in room 103. It was nice and spacious. The couch in the room was spacious. The bed was very comfy just wish the headboard didn't make so much noise. The bed was also comfortable as well. Bathroom was spacious and the hot water takes no time to heat up. The refrigerator keeps food cold and drinks frozen. You have to go to the 5th floor to watch the game. Air conditioning unit worked great. Room Con's The curtains on the window needs to cover the window from corner to corner. The sun is do bright in the morning and the sun will shine on your face in the morning. Someone was listening and trying to peak underneath our door to watch listen to my husband and Ibbe intimate. Door needs to be lowered. Bathroom: Toilet paper holder needs to be on the side of the toilet not behind you it's weird. Cabinet: Does not have enough shelf space. TV: Does not have sports channel and doesn't have good chammels. Sports is only on the 5th floor in the restaurant. Floor Tile: I mentioned to the person that gave us information about the amenities. I told him that the tile was cracked and made a lot of noise/movement when walking over it. Electricity: Before booking they should warn customers that the Electricity will shut off and on throughout the day. That's super annoying. They should warn people before they book that this would happen. Bugs: So many mosquitoes and flies Restaurant 5th Floor The food at the restaurant was nothing to brag about. Under seasoned and when you request that you want your food to be spicy it never doesn't come out that way. My husband and I were trying to enjoy our food but there was sooooo many flies and mosquitoes flying around feasting on your blood and food. Th owner needs to figure it out. I want to enjoy my food not constantly swatting at flies and mosquitoes. Chicken Masala was horrible. It definitely wasn't chicken masala. The fish I ordered was deep fried way to long and dried out the fish. King fish is delicious. Breakfast: Was okay not enough options for vegetarians. Breads, donuts, cakes etc had ants and flies all over it. The fried veggie stir fry was delicious. Staff: Michael,Jasmine, and the young lady with the Birthday on 14th of February was very helpful and sweet. Milkshake: Do not order because their disgusting and watery. Furniture Restaurant: Needs to be updated very outdated furniture. Pool Area: Wooden deck is fallen apart. A women stepped backwards and her foot almost went through. There's no shade out there so it's direct heat. Wear sunscreen because you will get burned. Use the pool after 4pm because during the day is way to hot.. Staff members are super sweet and helpful. Housekeepers were very sweet. Uber does not pick up or drop off in this location on taxi's are used. Hallway: Hot You will be able to purchase gifts at this location that's under $10.00 Our stay here was good. Price was fair.

Golden Tulip Resort - Zanzibar (manage your expectation) We arrived at the hotel early, in order to check-in we had to pay $50 USD, a bit expensive but it is what it is. The scenery you get from the ground floor is great, a swimming pool overlooking the Indian Ocean but I feel it doesn't compensate for the visible signs of wear and tear. Also, an infestation of flies. Overall it's clear to see the hotel is diminishing fast, though I understand it's not that old and was built within the decade. It has outdated and pointless features running throughout, topped with poor customer service (evening crew)and way below hospitality expectations. (Please don't expect your room to made-up daily) The breakfast which was included was great, with a variety of options. Location, this is about 20/ 30min away from town with zero attractions nearby with no food stores. The budget for this hotel is priced similar to Hotel Verde Zanzibar, so it's definitely worth considering.

No, not a 5-star luxury resort, but a cozy, clean place to hang your hat while you tour and explore. Great and attentive staff. Cheap price and attentive staff. About 20 minutes from airport, longer with traffic.

Would have given 5 stars for this 3 star accommodation, but the check-in process was not the greatest. Waited 20 minutes before even seeing a receptionist. Bellhop had to call and search for him. Which, he was absolutely wonderful, I may add. Jacqueline asked us how our stay was so far the next morning, and every issue we came up with was fixed without even flinching. Hotel area seems a little off putting at first, but they have great security measures in place. Would definitely continue using this hotel in the future! Also, the food was amazing! And they all wear name tags with nicknames on it that keep the job fun. Super cute idea!

Decent hotel. Staff are very nice & very polite, Simon on reception is very helpful. Breakfast wasn't amazing, can't talk about dinner because I didn't eat there (prices are triple local restaurants) Also had a few power cuts daily. Not really great. Staff were amazing though (especially the receptionists & Modesta)

Absolutely loved our stay at the Resort! World class service and fantastic rooms. We got the ocean view room and the view in th mornings was breathtaking. The food was also amazing and they had a fantastic breakfast spread. Located close to stone town and very close to spice farm. Close proximity to major activities in Zanzibar. When there, lookout for Baraza, a gentleman with an amazing heart and excellent customer service. He was an absolute delight and went over and above for us when we stayed there. He gave us many tips of how to make the best out of our trip. Also shoutout to Jacqueline at the reception, wonderful service!!. Honestly really loved how amazing all their staff were.. Would definitely recommend staying here and this is my preferred option when in Zanzibar.

I recently stayed at the Golden Tulip Zanzibar Resort, and while the view of the Indian Ocean from the hotel is undeniably beautiful, my overall experience was a mixed bag. The location, right in front of the ocean, is stunning, but it's somewhat isolated. Local taxis are not easily accessible, and the hotel taxis come at a high cost. One of the most disappointing aspects of my stay was the food. The options were limited, and my personal experience with the food was not great, despite their efforts to address the issue promptly. If your plan is to relax, enjoy the breathtaking view, and spend your time within the hotel, it's a good choice. However, if you're looking to explore local markets and immerse yourself in the culture, it can be challenging due to the remote location and limited transportation options. In the end, it's a place for those seeking tranquility and a fantastic view but may not be ideal for those who want to venture out and experience the local area.

The hotel was good and so were the staff. The only issue i faced TWICE was that when the staff came to spray the mosquito repellent in the room they didnt knock hard and just decided to open the room by themselves. Although they apologised as soon as they saw me but this happened with multiple people in our group, a bell system should be fitted in all rooms as sometimes its difficult to hear the knocks

Golden Tulip is okay for a short stay while in Stone town. Beautiful ocean view however please note that this is not a swimming beach. Lovely pool area which could do with an upgrade in terms of decent lounging chairs and umbrellas. Rooms too need an upgrade. Towels are discoloured. Transfers to and from the centre of Stone town is $20 If you can get a Tuk Tuk it's only 10000 tzs one way and much quicker too because of the traffic. My only highlight of this hotel was the fantastic breakfast and awesome ocean view. With a little TLC this hotel would be fantastic 😊

A calm and quite place near to sea side. Absolutely clean and healthy environment with delicious food and free room service facilities. Friendly staffs and a team of well trained people who always love to offer help.

Very bad experience. The rooms doesn't have a basic toilet accessories. The stuff speaks very poor English, or none. You can't swim in the ocean. Very far from stone town. They didn't warn me about electricity breakdown and I was stucked in an elevator during the electricity break down. The stuff doesn't inform you about nothing. So definetly don't recommend.

This is a transit hotel not destination hotel. If you want a place to sleep while enjoying Zanzibar this is the place for you. The Menu is quite pricy, find a way to secure your own transportation around town because of the hotel offers you transportation it’s going to very costly. You will enjoy the place for a day or two max. Their Menu lacks versatility, so does their breakfast buffet. Buy your own water, sparkling water and alcohol. They sell drinking water at a high cost, they don’t have alcohol in the hotel or any place near by and they don’t have sparkling water. They do have good service and the staff is friendly. They only have half board and bed and breakfast booking options. If your are have a 2 or 3 day stay in Zanzibar at Bububu area this is the place for you. But if you want to enjoy your holiday for a longer period, this is Not the place for you.

It's just okay. Don't go there if you want luxury. A few broken and non functioning items. I changed my room twice, but I still had to manage with the last. The A/C was spitting ice. However, the location isn't bad. Not far from Stone town.

Amazing stuff from Reception throughout 👏 They are all ready and willing to assist to make your stay comfortable. Rooms clean and ambiance is 👌. Food is well cooked - just try add more options to the menu. There is need to improve your wifi connectivity has its not consistent, Always on and off - otherwise generally it's a beautiful place to stay.

It was great. Staff, the rooms, meals, organising cabs for transit, the pool.... everything was great. It was quiet too, loved the serenity too

Pros: close to the airport, customer service is impeccable, place is surprisingly clean, seaside view is mesmerizing. Cons: no alcohol, short menu, no alcohol... NO ALCOHOL. Would definitely recommend for a short stay.

It is a decent place but definitely not a resort. About 25 mins to the Airport and 15mins to Stonetown. The sea view has a beautiful view and it’s refreshing to wake up to that. Breakfast was very bland, no options. Their other meals were okay. The TV had no tangible stations and it wasn’t clear. Prices of yours at the hotel are 3 times the price outside. I wouldn’t rate it a 4* but for the cost it is value for what you pay. Will I come back? If I had a thing budget yes, if not then NO!

The hotel is good, really clean however the restaurant isn't all that great, the food is okayish, the breakfast buffet hardly has that many options. Bread and butter, the safest thing to have.

The hotel is not kid friendly, not good if you are going with children. The staff were very friendly and so helpful and I’m Glad they really helped me when I needed with my personal stuff but when it came to service, we received bad service. Some staff couldn’t follow simple instructions and others gave us wrong information. The food was not upto standard, they can do better. Housekeeping not on point and slow. They don’t have a sandy beach as stated , it’s rocky and you use stairs . I think they should be clear on this.
