This place was recommended to me as a great spot to see the sunset and it does not disappoint. Unobscured views of the ocean and sunset, but also sitting above the beach where people walk by/chill/play football. Relatively new to the area, and so the place attracts a lot of people. But even at peak hours our food and drinks arrived quickly. I must recommend the 'Ndimu na Sukari' mocktail, and seafood pasta. They also have a beautifully decorated indoor café.

Happened to visit them for dinner the other night. Excellent seaside dining experience under the starlit sky. The quality and quantity of food served was ample. You also have multiple seating arrangements from chairs to couches. The staff was extremely polite and made sure we were well taken care of. They also provide a wide variety of soft and hot drinks to choose from. Accepts cash and also card transactions in USD which is a plus for tourists. This is a must visit place when in Stone Town, excellent food and ambiance.

The food was insanely good 🥹. My friends and I went there twice. For dinner and for lunch. Cocktails are great, staff is super kind. Don’t hesitate to visit beach house to try really tasty food. From rice to curry and fresh fish 🐠 .

This place is kinda insta famous so we went in with high expectations. The place has the restaurant and bar overlooking the ocean so they have an excellent view . My disappointment came in when it was time to order our cocktails and they didn’t have most of the mixers used to make the cocktails 😣, we ended up eating lunch which wasn’t bad and drinking coconut water 🙄. Overall they could do better but the place is cute

Great place to be. I guess it is a place that many tourists enjoy because it is a lot different from the local places I've seen. It's beautiful inside but you sure want to enjoy the terrace. The prices are fair I'd say. I had a beef burger which was good. Only thing I'd love to see improved: they have a very clean and spacious restroom but only one toilet stall. Sounds stupid to say that but I think that it would be a good thing to make it two for the many people visiting it for sunset. Anyways: visit it. Enjoy a Kilimanjaro beer and relax.

Very nice place for enjoying the sunset at the Beach and getting a nice view on the sea and old wooden boats. The food was rather normal and less spectacular (we ate a pizza and chicken farm roasted) - it was not overpriced but i would say too high for what was offered. Cocktails very good and friendly staff though. Tipp for the owner: I know it is ment to be nice but I guess I speak for 99% of western tourists… christmas songs like „walking in a winterwonderland“ or „let it snow“ is not really good for a beach bar atmosphere at 4th january and 32 degrees ;)

We had a laptop and wanted eat and do some work (we needed a bit more space for laptop, papers. food and drinka) so, after this very unfriendly welcome, we went out and we’ll never come back. 0/10

It used to be a great place but unfortunately the quality and service has dropped significantly over the passed year. The staff are mostly the problem. Not interested to work it seems. It can take up to 10mins to get a menu and even an hour or longer to get your meal. I ordered just a dessert and it took 2 hours. I kept asking and they said it is on its way. Luckily I wasn't in a rush to eat and was just enjoying chilling in front of the sea. But this happened several times that I have visited. The last time I had to personally go to he Chef and inform him that we were in a rush so if he could make the food faster. And he did! The food is still good (although slightly dropping in standard) but extremely over priced! But that is the norm in Zanzibar. Beach House has great G&Ts though!

5 out of 6 people got food poisoning after visiting here. We all had different food, which indicates it wasn’t any of the ingredients, but simply the cleanliness of how there were made. It was very sad because it was a really nice restaurant, with very nice staff. Hopefully just a bad day for them!

Atmosphere, service, and the view are all perfect. The food (in the photo) it was good and delicious. However, the price ($16) is too high for this portion, and the margharita 🍸 was not worth it at all. Hence, 3 *s for the food.

We only had a few cocktails here, and they are excellent. It's probably one of the best in town. Very friendly and helpful staff and always there to accommodate. The prices are punchy, though. If you want to relax by the sea and have a few cocktails, this is the spot. Highly recommend it.

We heard about this place for great sunset and food. Great place to watch the sunset and enjoy great cocktails. Sadly we ordered a seafood starter, which ended up being some cheap small fried fishes with a few small prawns. Not really a great mix of seafood and after a long conversation to find out why, I found out they didn’t get fresh seafood that day because of delivery problems. So thankfully we thought to change our seafood paella to something else. It took some talking but in the end the waiters were great and made everything to make it good. In the end we received an amazing desert! The food it self was good but not amazing for the price but the desert is incredible! So just ask what’s fresh and what sea food is available.

Came here twice during my time in Zanzibar, once for lunch and once for dinner. The views, music, and food was great. This review is for the lunch. I will leave another one for dinner 5* when I can post again. I am leaving 3 stars, dinner will be 5, as I am hoping it will get some attention. As we came here for the view and to enjoy the water it was disappointing to see staff with a dustpan, at a classy establishment, simply sweep the garbage off the balcony into the ocean as opposed to picking it up. She had a dustpan and gloves on. Now one may argue that it would likely end up in the ocean anyways however it was still disappointing to see.

The place was perfect. Food was so good and well done. I had pizza margarita and it was tasty. Also drinks and dessert. It has tables just with sea view where you can see the sunset and enjoy peaceful time. There were tables avaliable before sunset, but it got busy afterwards. Staff were also nice. For prices it was not much compared to the quality.

We've been there a couple of times and it was fine, except takeout. We ordered pizza from them - admittedly not the most obvious choice - and it was bad. Like....the taste wa really not good at all. They don't do delivery, and even if you have your own boda driver picking it up, they charge 2000 tsh per box of packaging which is kinda high. Anyways the pizza was a real disappointment. Order at La Taverna if you want pizza. The rest was fine when we were dining in.

This is one of the high end restaurants in stone town. The food was so delicious, the view was nice. If you are going in the evening you may need a sweater. Service is good but if the restaurant is busy except it to be slow. The drinks were good for the price. Overall 9/10

Trying to figure out what to write that hasn’t been written about this gorgeous “beach house” restaurant. Located close to the Hyatt and Serena hotels in stone town. Lovely place to unwind and very good service. The serene atmosphere, warm staff the delicious food and drinks leave nothing more to be desired. I had the prawn and fish indian curry with rice and a virgin mojito while my colleagues had the chicken pizza and the fish & chips all of which receive five stars. Would be delighted to return and try their other offerings. Edit: Visited again a couple days later for lunch. Verdict still stands.

Nice place to have dinner on the patio and watch the sunset. Portions are very generous and prices are fair. Service is attentive and friendly. It is in a quiet area in Stone Town but not far from the main section. We enjoyed our dinner!

Super nice people working here (asante sana!) Specially Rehema, very attentive and professional. We ate the Beach house salad, yellowfin and the catch of the day plus a lemon tart. Everything was tasty and nicely served. Bonus for the cold beer! Perfect temperature for my taste 🙂 We had wonderful sunset views and all for a fair price. I highly recommend it.

Excellent location and premium vibe. Restaurant is part of the Park Hyatt. Food was of average quality (catch of the day was tough and chewy). Service is VERY slow, and it took a long time to obtain drinks in particular. Visited at night, but a day visit would have great ocean views.

Was a cool restaurant but the service was extremely slow. I felt that the workers were ignoring us at one point. I got the manager and she apologized. I came back the next day and it was lovely. Really tasty food.

Had a sundowner here every day I was in Stone Town. Just staring out into the ocean, blank-minded and blissful. The ambiance is perfect (I recommend sunset for your first time!) Good music, and well-spaced seating, so you don't have to listen in on other conversations. The food was good. Service was better - very attentive.

The food is very good. But the Beach House is a terrible neighbor, blasting obscenely loud music on Friday and Saturday nights. My hotel said their guests regularly complain about the late night noise. Hopefully they become more considerate in the future.

Food was not bad. I enjoyed the fish but I’ve had better Paella else where. My favorite part about this restaurant was the seating and the view. They also take visa, which has been hard to come by during my travels in East Africa.
